Let's debate American Politics

$1 USD = .85 Euro

Wow, is that ever low! No wonder the EU is crumbling apart.

The latest is today when Trump announced a transgender ban in the United States Military undoing another stupid ass Obama bill !

Trump is dismanteling the PC culture and making America Great Again one day at a time!

Musbama tried destroying our country by pushing ridiculous leftie agendas such as this stupid Tranny bill down our throat.

Lets get rid of those pedo neutral gender friendly bathrooms next!

Did you see the monthly jobs report? The msm doesn't talk about it, of course.

Jealous and hateful as they come I must say.

I agree.

Each and every day Trump steamrolls over these jealous clowns is a good day for America!

Trump is dismanteling

The fat fool's dismantling himself. He's even talked about pardoning himself, a low that's never been matched.

I wonder how long he can hang on when even his own party are close to disowning him.

America is pretty much owned by the Chinese and Japanese. Trump talked tough until someone explained to him how much money we owe these two countries.

I think America may one day default on it's loans the way its going. We went from being the world's largest creditor and the world's largest exporter of finished goods and importer of raw materials to the exact opposite within a span of about 30-40 years. We're now the world's largest debtor, the world's largest exporter of raw materials, and one of (if not the largest) importer of finished goods.

The only thing that's keeping America afloat right now is the worldwide use of the US dollar. Pretty much everything is pegged to it whether directly or indirectly. Once that goes away - it's going to be hell. That's why America and its allies fight any attempt to create new competitive currencies. Gaddafi wanted to create the dinar which would be a sort of petrocurrency that the Arab and African world would use. Oh boy did that upset the US and Europe. The Chinese apparently have been also actively working to create a new basket of currencies to rival the USD. Their economy is worth more than ours in terms of PPP, and only slightly lower in terms of nominal GDP so there's a good chance they can pull it off in the future. The sad thing is look how much China and even poorer countries have built themselves up. They have amazing highways, bullet trains, great medical care that's cheap, and all this other stuff. I know they say the grass is greener on the other side but seriously where did all the money go in America? It sure as hell wasn't in the infrastructure or developing human capital through education, training, medical care, etc. rather than handouts which keep millions of lazy people in a limbo where they're neither poor but are content with their situation and don't want to achieve more. Yes a lot went into military but still military expenditures are only about 4% of GDP and an equally small percentage of the annual budget - even though it keeps needlessly increasing year over year. When unfunded pensions are included in the national debt the figure isn't 11 tril but rather 50, 70, even as high as 200 trillion according to analysts. We're screwed macroeconomically... Entire cities, municipalities, and states are bankrupt thanks to 'kick the can down the road' politics and spending. Now those with money and education are going to leave further exacerbating the problem with a brain drain.

Personally, I'd be in favor of a renegotiated NAFTA. Mexico and Canada have a lot to offer us. Before Trump came into office many companies were relocating manufacturing from China/Vietnam to Mexico due to similar wages but a far cheaper transportation cost and more ease of doing business. My ex and I would always joke we should just annex Mexico already and make things simpler for everyone lol.

Whether manufacturing returns to the US in significant enough numbers to really make a difference remains to be seen. If Trump pulls it off I will be very pleasantly surprised as it's a near insurmountable task. Talking about plans of manufacturing returning to the US is a sure fire way to rile up supporters for any politician - but only the more erudite know its b.s. There's tons of middle class workers who were use to making good money - $20, $30, $40 an hour even back in the 80's, 90's and even part of the early 2000's for doing an relatively unskilled type of job. Now these guys are either unemployed, switched to a service job for far less money, or accepted some $15-$20 hour as a machinist, fork lift driver, etc. You can train a monkey to press a button for 8 hours to stamp a sheet a metal. Something had to give eventually in a capitalist globalized world.

I wonder how long he can hang on

Seven and half more years is my guess. :-)

No wonder the EU is crumbling apart.

The next generation of Muslims will do it.
I saw a cartoon today about the stupidity of the Brits letting the Muslims take over London.
A Brit in London had planted a small tree with one big limb on it.
On the limb he had tide one end of a rope and left the rest on the ground in a coil with the other end attached around his own neck in a hangman's noose.

He was standing there watering the tree.

Seven and half more years

That's hilarious.

He'll get a longer jail term when the Russia stuff is finally out in the open.

one of (if not the largest) importer of finished goods.

There's no easy answer to the manufacturing crisis as long as China continues to grow and remain a low-wage economy. Nobody likes the situation, however they like cheap Chinese goods. China has built dozens of new cities bigger than Detroit used to be in the past decade alone. And the sheer number of dollars and American stocks they hold is shocking.

And it will take about 7 1/2 years to get your story fabricated Vlad.

Whether manufacturing returns to the US in significant enough numbers to really make a difference remains to be seen

Just today Trump announced a $10 billion deal up in Kenosha.

I saw a cartoon today about the stupidity of the Brits letting the Muslims take over London.

The PC lib squad wont be able to distort this reality and facts much longer. By then it will be too late for Londonistan.

Im glad Poland hasn't make such stupid mistakes.

I personally don't think that Trump himself colluded with Russia.

Here's what I personally think happened. Trump hired a political consulting firm called Manafort, Stone, Kelly, etc (or whatever the exact order of the names is) to help with his campaign. Manafort had previously been hired by Ukraine by Yanukovich and his party. It was normal or Manafort to receive payments of $600k, $1mil, $900k etc for lobbying efforts on behalf of some unsavory characters - especially African dictators. What was unique in this case is that he was paid $10 mil by Yanukovich and co. We all know that Yanukovich was Putin's man and he eventually fled to Russia. Undoubtedly, Manafort made ties with pro-Russia Ukranians like Yanukovich and his circle as well as Russian politicians, lawyers, political operatives, etc. but probably not Putin himself as Putin is too important and busy to involve himself with this stuff. Perhaps a dinner and a handshake at most occurred between Manafort and Co and Putin. Fast forward a few years, Manafort is now campaigning for Trump and Trump probably sent in Don Jr to discuss the meat and potatoes with Manafort and Co. while Don Sr was out at rallies, kissing babies, and of course managing his businesses. Manafort's old Russian contacts get in touch with him and probably Don Jr who's representing Don Sr. They inform Trump Jr and Manafort that they have damaging information on Hillary. Keep in mind that Putin absolutely HATES Hillary, and for good reason, so they release files they've kept on Hillary as well as some new info that Fancy Bear obtained by hacking the DNC. And this is how this sort of 'collusion' occurred....or at least that's what I'm willing to bet happened or some similar version of events....

Personally, I say big deal. Democrats should be more concerned with all the dirty deeds of their party - like purposely sinking Bernie (who had a good chance of winning actually - he had far more rally attendees than Hillary that's for sure) to promote Hillary along with tons of other dirty things that Hillary did.

Yet the dems seem to be more upset that Hillary was exposed than all the backstabbing ways of the DNC and all the messed up things Hillary has done which were brought to light. If anything, the dems should be thanking Russia for exposing how messed up their party is so they can now work to fix it and keep people like Hillary and her disgusting daughter out of it for good.

The Russians didn't hack any election. They simply gave a candidate information on another candidate. It's a game of operatives. Hillary had her own operatives too. How else do you think the whole old 'grab her by the pussy' tape came out?

He'll get a longer jail term

Maybe him and Crooked Hillary can share the same jail cell.

China has built dozens of new cities

Yes, they are called "China's Ghost Cities".
Google that and tell me what you think.

What was unique in this case is that he was paid $10 mil by Yanukovich and co.

This needs investigating rigorously.

As does the existence of any 'kompromat' on him that the Russians hold, and most importantly how this may have been used.

are called "China's Ghost Cities".

Most are not. You would be very surprised if you visited. And the 'ghost' ones are steadily filling up - they need the infrastructure there for their exponentiaal growth.

@jon357

The statue of limitations is now over with the Ukraine deal. A $10 mil payment though for political consulting and lobbying services is an extremely large sum though. Normally payments amount to a fraction of that for similar services. Itd be like if your secretary wrote a $20k check for a fixing the office printer.

Manafort was already grilled by the us gov and I believe roger stone was also (who I am a great fan of) as it pertains to Russian collusion. Keep in mind that trump sr also fired manafort because trump felt like manafort treated him "like a baby." I don't think trump sr performed any sort of collusion with Russian government figures or operatives. Trump Jr though perhaps to help his dad out esp while manafort still worked fpr trump sr.

Just today Trump announced a $10 billion deal up in Kenosha.

You mean Foxconn? Looks as if it will come at a cost of $3 billion in state tax breaks - $230,700 per worker! Why does that remind me of the Carrier "deal"?

Did you see the monthly jobs report?

Thank Obama...
Not too long ago, Trump claimed that the real unemployment rate is 35% to 42%. Now it magically fell to 4.3%? 'nough said.

27 Jul 2017  #402

but seriously where did all the money go in America?

That's a huge question. It looks to me as an outsider that a lot of it was simply wasted, for example on completely pointless vanity projects that were popular in the short term with voters. I'm always amazed to see how American sports teams are vacating arenas and stadiums after 20 years (the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, for example) and moving into newer arenas paid for with taxpayers cash.

foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfl-new-stadiums-public-funding-how-much-atlanta-san-diego-minnesota-los-angeles-033116

There's a good article here about it, but the thought of the Falcons getting $600 million in taxpayers money is just insane. The Georgia Dome is only 25 years old - why the hell would the taxpayers pay so much to fund a new stadium when there's nothing wrong with the Georgia Dome?

Let be more factual, it came from your propaganda fake news media source. Yep, wrong again!

Not too long ago, Trump claimed that the real unemployment rate is 35% to 42%.

I recall him stating it was over 10% before, he never said it was over 35%........... Sources please:)

And not that lefty crap Jon spews out.

Trump just apologised for the speech

The crowd loved his speech but the Politically Correct made a big deal about it so being a politician you have to appease as many people as you can.

The other reason is because he is in deep **** right now.
His own party has turned against him and it now looks like he will be ousted by the end of the year if not sooner.

Watch for a real firestorm in the next month or two.
If he survives this one I will be real surprised.

(the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, for example)

Ah yes, home of White Boy Rick. (Google him for some interesting reading, movie coming soon)
That is because they are rebuilding downtown Detroit.
Thy have put all the pro sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball and Hocky downtown.
They have even put in a shuttle train that runs up and down Woodward Avenue with bike paths everywhere.
Block upon blocks (two miles long) of rundown houses (drug houses) have been bulldozed and turned into parking lots for these events.
Run down deserted rat infested houses bring no tax base.
The money these new facilities bill bring in plus the increased tax base will be much more then the old structures would.
Parking a car there can be as high as $50 for the evening if you want to park close in a secured lot.
The Chinese are buying up all the surrounding run down beautiful big nostalgia homes of early Detroit and fixing them up to original.
A whole lot of money is being made in Detroit right now in real estate.
If it wasn't for the large Muslim population in Dearborn I would consider moving back up there.

What Trump was saying certainly coexists with how many ppl are on welfare in this country.

statisticbrain.com/welfare-statistics

10 sec google search

If he survives this one I will be real surprised.

Im still glad Trump won, its better than the alternative criminal candidate and failed old policies.

And the subsequent Libby meltdown damaged their party for decades to come.

This needs investigating rigorously.

Hillary Clinton is going to demand action. These are some of her biggest donors. LoL

TheOther
28 Jul 2017  #412

What Trump was saying

No, no, no, no. He was talking about unemployment of 35 - 42% even though the offical unemployment rate was around 4.7% at that time, if I recall correctly. Now it's down to 4.3% and he wants to take credit for it? The 42% never existed all of a sudden? Ha ha ha, don't think so. Orange 45 doesn't know what he's talking about as usual. Who would have thought that economics and healthcare are so complicated...

And the subsequent Libby meltdown damaged their party for decades to come

Wait until Medicaid is taken away from millions of people and another 30 million lose their health insurance. The Trump base will get their pitch forks and torches out faster than you can say oopsy daisy. The damage to the GOP will be much worse than what you saw at the end of the GWB era. Single payer will come, guaranteed. It's the only economically feasable option.

johnny reb
28 Jul 2017  #413

He was talking about unemployment of 35 - 42%

I believe he was referring to the number of people not in the "work force", not unemployment.
Big difference.
In fact our buddy Delphi even started a thread on it just below this one called:
"28 percent of the American population sat on their ass and did nothing last year."

Dirk diggler
28 Jul 2017  #414

The unemployment rate is bs no matter if its 2% 4% 10%... The reason why is because the official unemployment rate looks only at people who are out of work for less than 1 year and are actively looking for work. That means if you are not looking for work or have been unemployed for over 1 year you are not counted in this statistic.

TheOther
28 Jul 2017  #415

The unemployment rate is bs no matter if its 2% 4% 10%

Correct. Which is why I called BS. When the Democrats were in power, it was 42% "unemployment", when the GOP rules it's all of a sudden 4.3%. If the 42% were really true, then where are the missing 38% (42% - approx. 4%) now? Magically disappeared because Trump is now in the WH?

I believe he was referring to the number of people not in the "work force", not unemployment.

Well, what he said in the Time Magazine interview was: "If you start adding it up, our real unemployment rate is 42%."

That sounds about right because labor force participation for able bodies adults is only around 64 65% and decreasing annually.

There's a video that became very popular lately where a NYC welfare queen brags about 'raping the government' and not paying taxes while calling working people '9 to 5 b!tches' and explaining how shell never stood low enough to ever 'work a cash register at a rather or sneaker store' but is still able to 'put Jordan's on her feet'

She concludes by saying 'im so Gucci' and of course 'fxxk trump' and 'fxxk white people' for good measure...

Quite sad because this woman is raising 2 children. Naturally she will teach her children to rape the government and hate work and working people. A child's first mentor and hero is always a parent
