Finally a President that is looking out for America especially after the one we just had that did everything he could to dismantle the Constitution and destroy America.

Far from the first nation to have a border wall. I can think of the first though - China.

Personally I love Hispanic and Latino people. I find as a pole we have quite a few similarities - hard work ethic, very family oriented, traditional, religious but also likes to party and dance. They are some of the most humble people I've ever met in my life. These dudes will spend 10 hours in 100 degree weather on a construction site with just mariachi music, water and a short lunch in the shade. Not one word of complaint. In fact they are grateful to even have a low wage us job bc if they were back home they'd make in 1 day what they make here in 1 hour. Put some trustifarian or one of these snowflakes in the same position and they'll start writing to the human rights council after a few hours in the sun. I actually like hispanic people and culture so much that I've devoted a lot of time and money to learning spanish, travelling through central america, and just the culture in general.

I do agree that as a nation we do need secure borders and ought to depot violent criminals and try to limit the flows of hazardous goods - especially heroin and fentanyl which are causing a lot of problems in my home state. A lot of people even from my own high school and college have died bc of this stuff. I don't think border protection or a wall is going to change much about drugs so I don't think a wall will help too much with combating drug traffic we've already wasted enough on the war on drugs - id rather see the money go to harm reduction and rehabs. You can bet the cartels are probably building tunnels and already scheming on how to get through any sort of wall. As far as people crossing the border in groups w a coyote leading them or simply people on their own - yes a wall and better border protection will most likely help stem the flow.

The difference is that the vast majority of Hispanics cross into the us to be with their families and to work. They don't set neighborhoods ablaze, they don't behead our soldiers in the street, they don't kill teenagers at pop concerts, and they don't blow themselves up or run people over with vans. Yes there are quite a few Hispanic gangs but the ones around here actually cause far less shootings and murders than blacks. When trump said that Latino gangs are the ones driving Chicago's murders that's simply not true. They're responsible for only around 10% of shootings and murders with blacks being responsible for the vast majority of both suspects and victims and whites only a single digit. This is in my city in particular but it could be different in say la or NYC. I mean yes deporting illegals that are violent criminals should happen. However deporting a guy because he got pulled over w a bag of weed for personal use esp if he's been here a long time and gainfully employed... Ehh idk

My position is biased though bc I know and work with quite a few hispanics so I can understand em. I will tell you that most don't like Obama bc he deported more of em than Clinton and bush combined

The wall in the Israel seems to work.

The wall Mexico built on their southern border to Guatemala seems to work.

The only reason why it works is because the Israelis have a shoot-to-kill attitude like the border guards of the old GDR. Nothing like that will ever happen along a US border. The Mexicans will simply dig under that wall or buy a nice ladder from Home Depot.

Speaking of israel, the Palestinians are protesting, chanting and sometimes rioting bc the idf put in metal detectors outside of al aqsa mosque. The reason is bc just recently two Israeli security personnel (I think they were cops) were shot by palestinians. They returned fire and merked all 3 Palestinians. Now the palestians are pissed but the metal detectors are apparently outside the mosque so I don't see what the big deal is.

Normally I support Palestine in the israel/Palestinian question but this time israel is def in the right. They even resprctfullt installed these in an area where people don't pray or worship.

I remember one time I called a conservative radio station while trump was campaigning. They were all over his nuts lol. This was around the time that trump said nato is obsolete, most don't pay their fair short, and we need to focus on our own defense instead of propping up the militarys of foreign countries. Anyway like a bunch of sycophants they all agreed w everything trump was saying.

So I called in and asked them -

me: so you support trump not giving more money to nato, at least not till they pay their fair share.

Host: yes.

Me: so you also agree that countries should be responsible for their own defense and we shouldn't pay for it

Host: yes

Me: so based on that reasoning we shouldn't give anymore money for Israel's defense. Israel receives more aid than any other us ally and more us aid than the entire continent of Africa combined. The aid comes out to roughly $200k per Israeli household. They are after all a rich hi tech country and can easily afford their own defense
