very old fashioned gramophone with a big horn rather than speakers.

We had one of those in our house! No idea what happened to it.

Tony Christie's sadly got dementia now.

That's awful. Such a terrible disease.

@Crow

Sorry Crow, I do watch all your posts but only one has been half decent to my ears.I don't know what the others think about Serb popular music, but for me it has too many old tarts singing over emotional songs.

Crow

As long as I enjoy its fine to me. You are too complex and what can I do.

Miloslaw

You are too complex

No, the problem with Serb popular music is that it is far too simplistic and engrained.

Crow

Serbia is the great wonder

I told you, you have so many types of Serbian popular music. Some are based on literally pure ethno music with traditional peoples instruments and preserved ethno songs from museums. There are then drinking and pub songs. Some we call newly composed ethno, modern interpretation of old songs. Some we call turbo folk that are influenced from outside, in music, rhythm and sound. Then also, some are domestic in English or other foreign languages. Rock, etc, etc. Then there so many teenage entertaining musical movements. Serbian musical scene is very active.

While listen to the music one may fail to note interesting thing >

The Primordial White Garden that gave the West, that many have come to consume but utterly failed - this every Serbian girl enhanced with our dinaric genetics is just average here but still, every one of them is taller then the average man on the west of Europe. Like tallest human skeletons old 11.000 years find here, tallest people in the world still lives here >>>

@Crow

Again, I watched all the videos you posted and in my opinion, most of them were terrible.MC Stojan was OK,Fenecki Biseri were quite appealing and I actually liked Nevena Bezovic! So, I appreciate your efforts, you obviously love your music.

Back to proper music.....@Crow, you will hate this......this is a song for the Ukrainians!

Crow

Its fine. Ukrainians that aren`t Russians, are Serbians in origin.

And we have duty only to Slavia so all is truly fine. Madman Zelenski and nazi yoke would be past.

Back to

We here listen to all kind of music what is produced on Earth and outside. Since age 7 every Serbian child using both Cyrillic and Latin writing. Since age of 10 every Serbian child speaks, using and write English. Still, we are what we are. Think.

In the meanwhile >

the light

I am all awash in the light. Good music is good and that`s it. No boundaries.

Still, there is that USA and Canadian line in my family and I have inclination to US rhythm. You know, I mentioned that here on forum before. My grand-grandfather migrated from Serbian region of Krajina in back then AH to the USA. He at first moved with his brother. Brother moved then to Utah and my grand-grandfather to Alaska and then later joined brother in Utah. Then, his son, my grandfather, moved from Krajina to the USA and joint to his father and uncle. Then also joined the youngest son, brother to my grandfather but he later separated and moved to Canada.

And, if you check, Krajina is the traditional region populated with Serbian dinarics since time immemorial. The tallest Whites. And most robust. And intelligent. Nikola Tesla (gracial dinaric variation, and there is also robust one) originate from the same village as my grandfather and my ancestors. Those who lived in Krajina (then Yugoslavia) when WW2 started they all were killed by the Croat nazi ustashe by the blessings of local Catholic Church that unlike Catholic Church in Poland, was in alliance with the Germans and Hitler. Actually, Croat ustashe were literally prepared in Vatican. So, among victims from the other clans, Tesla clan lost 92 members in that genocide. My own, Crow clan lost 56 members. Many woman and children. Killed in a ways that what banderists did to Poles in Volinia, in general speaking, looks like a easy death. Imagine that.

Anyway, to shorten the story, here is one American song, and you would be surprised, that I like to listen when remind myself of my mother..... So father was dinaric, robust variation, while my mother was from the region Srem, Serbian Danubian genetic variation. Surface to say that until her age of 12 my mother had literally white hair (I underline literally, not albino, healthy white), then slowly her hair translated into the golden yellow. But she retained her first nick name- Whity, to the end of her life. Bela. And, yes, she was beautiful. And yes, she loved the father, very much. Was she perfect wife? Not perfect but, she was no trouble. Decent woman I will honestly judge her. Wife that you could rely on. Very capable, too. But true woman that needed guidance.

Here is that song >

Good music is good and that`s it. No boundaries.

What I like about this thread is that music has brought us a bit closer,Crow, you have shown your human side and we can all now see you as a human being instead of as as a Serbian pro Russian.I am sure you are still a Serbian pro Russian, but it's nice to see your humane side.

This song is quite old but the poem it is inspired by is much older.
I have always loved it.

Miloslaw

Tri Martolod is a very old Celtic song dating back to the 18th century.
It means three sailors in Breton, not sure how it translates to other Celtic languages.
It came to huge prominence in France in the seventies, with Alain Stivell's version and was a rap hit much later for a band called Manau who called it "Tribu de Dana"

I love them all, because it's a great song, but this is my favourite version.
