Now, this is a pretty dumb Polish song but it is somehow much more slavonic and much more fun than your Serbian posts.Maybe because of their references to wodka.
Surprised you didn't post it in the Polish music thread.
Sorry, but that thread seems to be dead now.Glad you liked the Urszula track!
Tonight, I'm changing it up on this thread, it's all Funk and Soul tonight, just for a change. Unless you are British, you will probably never have heard of this early Funk/Rock band.... this is The Equals;
BTW, all the videos I am posting tonight are from British artists..... like this one;
Another great British Funk band, we are pretty good at this stuff......
I know that the Yanks have Funk music nailed, as they have almost every type of popular music, but I thought I'd blow the trumpet for the UK tonight, we are pretty good too....... last one tonight.....
If you say so Rich, but even though Elton grew up in the same area as me, I have never liked his music. When he started out I was still at school and most of my fellow students loved the "Local Boy", but I could never get into his music.
So, no Serbian Rock posts from @Crow. I have tried very hard to find some decent Serbian popular music....almost impossible to find..... Serbs just don't get it! Hey, JR Jim, you can accuse me of "Copy and Pasting" on this thread, because that is exactly what I have done. Because I know nothing about Serbian music.
Serbian Popular music seems to be mainly about old tarts......they seem to be very popular in Serbia.
But this song, though not great, is OK.
@Crow I am trying to save your neck here.......
This lot were not bad......
I'll end with a decent Serbian Rock band...... why can't Crow find these?
OK, each to their own..... I am celebrating one truly great British artist tonight mainly because of his stoicism,talent and humour. Ian Dury......he claimed to be an Essex boy but actually grew up in my neck of the woods, in Harrow Weald......what a talent! I'll start off gently.
Listen to the lyrics..... pure comic genius!
Maybe it's just London humour but I find him very subtly funny.
Ian Dury was really harmless compared to many of his peers during the late 1970s. I liked some of his songs, but many of them were too "disco" for my personal taste. A true heroine from that era is Patti Smith. Saw her a couple of times in Europe and the US.
Serbian talent show - Mario Kronauer i Milica Todorovic - Ovako ne mogu dalje - (live) - No, I can't go on like this
English translation:
You have all the strength in the world The heat of summer on the lips My heart is the tip of the iceberg There was a lot of snow, honey
Like a little water in the palm of your hand I take care of you and your every flaw My love is a ship that does not sink My kisses are ringing for you
Ref. No, I can't go on like this Oh my God, what are you sending me? What will I do with her? My love didn't fall from Mars My life is a farce I don't let him know pain
No, I can't go on like this Oh my God, why are you sending it to me? What will I do with him/her? My love didn't fall from Mars My life is a farce I don't let him know pain
At least you're a girl from the south You know that happiness is sadness I am an old wave that does not foam Boring even to his own shadow
When you are there, everything thunders and shines Everything dances and sings in me You have love for half the world And happiness likes to sit with sadness
