we are sad
The collective "we" is very small I think......
In 1967 The Beatles released a double A sided single, this was side A1.
And this was side A2.
Still sad little mouse?

I would say that their music was not that good, it was just that they kept coming up with new stuff all the time for a long time.
Of course in my humble opinion.

They have over 300 songs and not one of them sounds the same. On the other hand you have bands like AC/DC that every songs sounds exactly the same.
Of course in my humble opinion.
Not everyone has the taste, no biggie:)
You probably wont like this song, it will melt your mind if you listen to its entirely. lol
This one goes out to Cosmic Mike!

Of course he would, he hates anything that is not Polish in his eyes.... even the huge Polish diaspora.....
That was a nice post Joker, in the early nineties I used to drive over that zebra crossing on Abbey Road almost daily.
I would say that their music was not that good,
Really?? The best selling Rock band of all time?Are you nuts?
The Stones are number two, Irish band U2 are number three and Led Zeppelin are not far behind them.
@Joker Earthless are a great American band and that was a great post!
But Cosmic Mike does not visit this forum........... :-)

Yes, they were, but most of the forum members already knew it decades ago. Yaaawn.
How about sth really revealing?????

Talking about The Beatles Jerry (Jerzy) said;
Yes, they were, but most of the forum members already knew it decades ago.
But you don't seem to appreciate them......
This is the Polish forum so any non Polish stuff is pollution. Isn`t it?
We have a Polish music thread too but you don't seem to be very keen to post on that either..... LOL!!!
We have many non Polish threads on here because of the massive,global, Polish diaspora.... which you seem to detest.....like a Nazi.... we are not pure enough for you.....

I had a very good friend from the age of 13 till we were 24 and he decided to go to America and make his fortune...he did that and more and regularly appeared on Amarecan TV.

This friend sadly died recently, but when he had family holidays back in Hungary bought me superb Hungarian Salami's and brilliant Rock albums.
Omega were one of the best Hungarian bands.....in communist times, Hungary seemed to have more freedom than Poland when it came to Rock Music.

we should remember our roots
If only Led Zep had acknowledged their sources at the time...
As much as I like early led zep they are a bit stale however there is lots of interesting things happening with Irish music at the moment.
Lankum and the side project ØXN each released stonkingly good albums last year. The cover of Scott Walker's Farmer in the city from his (now) cult album Tilt by ØXN is a triumph. Lankum are in demand for soundtrack work all over the world.
Scott Walker turned his back on the pop market and had the integrity to make the music he wanted. The two bands named above have been described as doom folk I think they are true to themselves. The players in the Bothy Band were lambasted for polluting music with the guitar driven rhythm which is now seen as typically folky.
Anyone who saw Shane MacGowan's funeral would have heard Lisa O'Neill's absolute unique and distinctive voice. Again last year, she released a great album repurposing Patrick Kavanagh's words but I think the best tracks are self written.

@Barney
I can only say that I am both deflated and disappointed by your posts.
After everything you said, I expected some truly electric Irish posts..... but all you did was post some moderately interesting ones.....try harder next time mate, I'm on your side, I love Irish music!
