Not really. The only person I've heard coming out of Mali is Salif Keita. I have an album of his on vinyl. Thanks for posting those links, really nice to listen to although I will have to revisit Ali Farka Toure as I didn't have time to listen to all of it in one sitting.


Have you been to many of the southern states? I have a cousin in the US who's spent the best part of 20 years trying to get me to visit, but she's in Oregon and I don't think she would fancy the Deep South.

The Russian anthem is uplifting with love of the country, not fake militaristic pathos...

It's so melodic that it takes just one time to be able to sing along but for the language ... That's, btw, how you tell great compositions from mediocre...Can I repeat it after hearing it once...
