Sure they did, they played on February 12th, 1976 so quit making up lies.

Here is the concert schedule from 1976, idiot.

concertarchives.org/bands/eagles?page=1&year=1976#concert-table

They were never in Hawaii in 1076 same as you!

Its a 2 hour hike up Diamond Head which I have done. There are NO concerts upon the crater...lol Can you imagine getting your coke head ass out of there when you freak out...lol

You aint never been to Hawaii, Shack Boy!

Here is one of the best American songs ever in my day.

I thought this was a bit late for you, you are more a 50's and early 60's kind of guy..... you do realise that Tom Petty is taking the pi$$ here don't you?
"She's a good girl, loves her Moma, loves Jesus and America too...." not the sort of girl Tom Petty would be interested in......

I have to back up JR Jim on this one.
The Eagles played the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu on the 12th of February 1976.

And as it was the end of their Pacific tour they may well have performed an unannounced gig just for fun.

For once, JR Jim is not lying.

The Eagles played the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu on the 12th of February 1976.

But Jimmy claims they played on Diamond Head ( National Park) a dormant volcano that takes 2 hours to walk up with no roads...

The Eagles have never played there.

Honolulu is a city which has many concerts. Diamond Head is an volcanic mountain that Jimmy pretends he has viewed concerts upon.

a dormant volcano that takes 2 hours to walk up with no roads...

He probably flew up there in his yacht.

a dormant volcano that takes 2 hours to walk up with no roads...

I did it in an hour but we parked at the base of it and climbed the steepest part of it to the highest peak.

The well paved road meanders comfortably up the slopes of the hill reaching the base of the crater, time at which a short tunnel will lead you into the park.

Google 1976 New Years Day Diamondhead Hawaii and see the pictures of that concert

The Eagles played the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu on the 12th of February 1976.

This is not Diamond Head !!!!

So what they played an arena in Honolulu, big deal.. Was it on top of volcanic crater as Jimmy claims? Hahaha

Do you even know what youre talking about? Milo

The Eagles never played a concert on this volcano

The Eagles were never there in 1976 neither were you .

Just like there is no road to the crater ?
I was at that concert that you saw pictures of when you googled 1976 New Years Day Diamondhead Hawaii
You aint never been to Hawaii,

Here is some memorable Melia that I just found for you that says otherwise.
Remember Seaflite Boeing Hydrofoil boats that ran between Honolulu and Maui (140 miles) at ridiculous speeds.
Google Seaflite Hawaii 1976 to sea a picture of them
I lived on Maui for two years(1975 - 1976) and took them a few times from Maui to Oahu and back instead of flying.

not for public access or concerts.

Joker

Hey, if you say so.... Its a beautiful place to visit for sure.

johnny reb

not for public access or concerts.

I respect your opinion even though you are wrong again.
Thats how people enter the concerts that are held there.
How else could the band get their equipment in there without going through the tunnel or how else could the concert goers get into the crater ?
that you saw pictures of when you googled 1976 New Years Day Diamondhead Hawaii

Did you not see the picture of that concert in Diamondhead in 1976 ?
Hey, if you say so..

I said so with pictures for proof.
An apology to me would be in order.

An apology to me would be in order.

Why? The Eagles were never there neither were you..... lol

Do you even know what youre talking about? Milo

As you know only too well, I usually do.

They played that gig at the end of a huge Pacific tour.Like many bands, they may have wanted to do a small unannounced gig to a smaller audience just for fun.
That is just conjecture, but they did play in Honolulu on the 12th of February 1976.

Anyway, let's get back to the music...... I won't name any names but this song is apt for many posters on PF!

Old and forgotten now but very very good. This had a big effect on me when I heard it in my teens. Back then I'd never have guessed that some of the more disreputable patches of my life would be like this. Still no tattoos though.

Dedicated to all those of us who've sailed the oceans wearing a hard hat

@Joker

"Witchy Woman" an Eagles classic that I had forgotten about!

Old and forgotten now but very very good.

I have always admired Tom Robinson. This song is about something that happened in 1954, so obviously, it is not his story.
But it feels so real that it must be true.It seems to be the tale of two Gay men that met like "Ships in the Night" and is very moving.
Do you know any more about the story?

jon357
27 Aug 2024  #170

No. I think he was just channeling something about poor young men with less than conventional lives, doing casual jobs, living from week to week with nowhere good to live. Theresa lot of people like that even now, especially in poorer countries. Far fewer in Poland now, however 25 years ago, it was definitely still there.

If you've ever (as I have) come off a voyage from South America to Scandinavia with a wad of cash in three currencies in your pocket but nowhere planned to stay and no idea where the next wage is coming from then it rings very true. That or turning up in Warsaw having only been abroad twice for brief holidays before having to find a new life in a strange place.

The song mentions Zaventem (Brussels Airport) which is I think late 50s so I suppose it's a story of someone's younger years, the voice of an older man, perhaps a mostly straight one, looking back on the past with a tear in his eye.

Incidentally, a bit of pop trivia about Tom Robinson. He was at the same boarding school at the same time as Norman Josiffe, known in the media as Norman Scott, the central figure in the Thorpe scandal. I read Norman Josiffe's biography a few months ago and he mentioned that. If they're the same age, he must be early or mid 70s now.

I have a mixed bag of posts tonight, but I'll kick off with some Irish Rock.No music seems to raise the spirits like Irish music does!

Good band;

The big news this week is that Oasis, one of the greatest Rock bands of the nineties are getting back together again......of course it's all about the money.....I just hope they can keep it together till the end of their tour.
I think this song is very apt.......

Liam has been far more offensive to Noel than the other way round. In a recent interview about their singing voices, Noel said "I sound like a half pint of Guinness on a Tuesday night, Liam sounds like 10 Tequila's on a Friday night!

A bit corny...... but I liked it anyway.......

Which suits the American perception of Brits...... but I know, that you know that Brits are not whining moaners......
Hey, they were still a great Rock band!

The Eastern European Communists didn't like Rock Music because they saw it as "Subversive" but some how they thought Jazz was not.....

And so they clamped down hard on it in most Warsaw Pact countries, but Hungary, for some reason got off slightly more lightly, which is why Communist Rock blossomed in Hungary.
Kati Kovacs was one of the earliest examples and she went on to influence a generation of Hungarian Rock Stars.

Kati Kovacs had a huge influence on probably Hungary's greatest Classic Rock band Omega.
This is their greatest song.

Locomotiv GT were a Hungarian "Supergroup", people argue about if they were formed by the Communist state or by a peoples poll but they were formed from the best Hungarian Rock bands at the time, including two members of Omega.

My last Hungarian post is from Locomotiv GT, for the time and place, this was really good......

I have just two Polish Rock songs for you tonight.
The first band are Syndia, who were linked to the more successful but awfully named band called Lady Pank.

"The Grunt" it what heavier Hard Rock bands call that style of singing that uses a very deep gravely voice, sometimes performed by women.
It is not a favourite amongst many older Rock fans but this Polish Gothic Metal band use it sparingly and mildly.
Give it a go, you may surprise yourself and like it.
This band are called Dolina Cieni and the song translates as "In the Unknown".

Heres sth to Pi$$ you off LOL

I don't know why you thought that would pi$$ me off, I was never a great fan of BTO but that song was OK.

I will never be able to turn you onto Oasis, but I will do my best.
As for their "Whiney" vocal style, that is just a cultural difference..... it's called the Manchester accent....Liverpudlians are similar in a different way.
Anyway, I have three Oasis songs that may at least make you think that they were at least OK.

This was one of their biggest hits, "Wonderwall".

This is "Supersonic"...... it Rocks!

Despite all the brothers arguments, Noel described his voice as a half of Guinness on a tuesday night and that his brother Liam had a voice like ten Tequilas on a friday night!

Last one is a psychedelic one called "Champagne Supernova", this is a slow builder, so please watch till the end.

Oasis sounds like whiney twats that pretend to be the Beatles, but it aint ever going to happen!😂😂😂😂😂😂

Lets talk GunChester bands, here you go......

This song kicks ass for LimeyManc

Yorkies are afraid to visit Manchester anymore.... I saw more muzzies than white in Manchester... That town is a toilet!
