To be honest, as I observe the international economic dogpiling against Russia, I'm becoming the increasingly nervous man.
There is something tremendously scary about the fact that the world at large can essentially force a country to adopt mercantilism by banning it from everything.
Further, the mass-banning of ruski everything everywhere including media channels on youtube etc. is all fine and dandy, but it sets an incredibly dangerous precedent that is already spiralling out of control. Today you are sentenced to damnatio memoriae for being a 'putinbot', tomorrow the definition of putinbot becomes 'anyone who disagrees with me', and the next day your assets are seized for insulting BLM.
The casus of stuff like Russia Today is particularly concerning to me. I'm not a fan of RT and consider it a propaganda tube, but I see little value in banning it, and I also see a major discrepancy between banning it and indiscriminatingly tolerating (even lauding) the absolutely blatant and ridiculous Ukrainian propaganda - even if it's very well-executed, I'll give them that.
Finally there's how everyone keeps cheering on this without any reflection, as well as the scale of browbeating everyone to do more to punish Russia and Russians, to the point where it's not even approaching a witch hunt, it IS a witch hunt. Butthurt that Valve refuses to ban Ruski users? Why would it even consider doing so?
Polish internet is particularly bad when it comes to the final point now too. Hungary has declared it won't be sending weapons to Ukraine. I fully respect that and the Huns are entitled to mind their own business, especially since they're more or less declaring neutrality in the whole shebang by first saying they won't obstruct sanctions targeted at Russia, and now by doing this. But it's not enough, no. Hungary is now the enemy because they refuse to openly support Ukraine - it's not even that they voice support for Russia, because they aren't. It's that they refuse to explicitly take part in the conflict.
As if the tribalism in modern society couldn't get any worse.
