Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

mafketis

Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Chernobyl, Kherson, Crimea, Cheriniv

Three of those are from 2014, one is not occupied and the other are surrounded but not administered in any way... shooting at civilians trying to use a "humanitarian corridor" doesn't actually mean anything close to 'victory'....

Lots of the more intellectual Putin supporters were absolutely convinced it would be over within a couple of days...

The Russian government wouldn't make statements but it's clear not enough planning had gone into the operation or they wouldn't be shipping in civilian vehicles....

Well many people here wrongly miscalculated about the effect of sanctions (as well as this anti-Russian hysteria), the opposite is happening as support for Putin in Russia among Russian people is actually rising.

Russian gymnast adds 'Z' to vest on medal podium

Ivan Kuliak won bronze at the World Cup event

1

Russian gymnast Ivan Kuliak has appeared at a World Cup medal ceremony wearing a 'Z' added to his vest.

The 20-year-old debutant at the event won bronze in the parallel bars competition in Doha.

Kuliak appeared to have taped the letter, which is one of the insignia on Russian military equipment, to the front of his vest.

Ukrainian Ilya Kovtun, who won gold, and silver medalist Milad Karimi, of Kazakhstan, stood next to Kuliak.

Russian athletes are competing at the World Cup under neutral status as part of sanctions imposed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) following the invasion of Ukraine.

Together with their Belarusian counterparts, Russian athletes will not be allowed to take part in FIG competitions from Monday.

Great branding....

lol

Maf, check this out - this "Z" letter is becoming some sort of Putinazi swastika in Russia:

This is why I think Russians should be banned from sport competitions altogether.

We do! Explain your view.

We most certainly don't. If anything, we're shooting ourselves in the foot by sanctioning Ukraine because it'll lead to higher prices on top of inflation on the home front. Of course it's not going to hurt multi-millionaires, but it will hurt everyone from the lower class to the upper middle class.

Ukraine is a very poor, corrupt country. It has little to no strategic reserves and an economy worth dog ****. The only interest that the US/NATO has in Ukraine is as a bulwark against Russia. That's the only reason why there's so much propaganda now. Arguably more than any other recent war the US participated in. Hell even CNN and Fox are mostly on the same page about this.

And even then, the US and EU weighed the pro's and con's of different responses to Russia. Clearly they realized sanctioning the 2 banks that handle the majority of gas and oil transactions were not worth sanctioning. Furthermore, they might some a couple helmets and rockets, but everyone knows they're not going to impose a no fly zone and they're certainly not going to send troops on the ground.

It's the same thing as giving a dollar and a sandwich to your local drunken bum out of your car window but refusing to provide him with a hot bath and a bed then boasting on how much the homeless near our help and going on TV talking about how evil the banks are for taking his house away...

Three of those are from 2014, one is not occupied and the other are surrounded but not administered in any way

A) Their positions in Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Donbass were strengthened and consolidated - that's the first step before they implement formal administration under Russia which Crimea already has

B) Kharkiv, Kherson, Mariupol, etc. are done for.
C) No army is going to totally invade, occupy and administer such an area within a week or two. It takes much more time. Look at even the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq or even Nazi invasion of Poland - by comparison, the Russian invaded and occupied far more square footage of land than in those campaigns. Invasion takes weeks and months with occupation and administration takes even longer. The fact that they've already effectively cleared so many areas within 2 weeks and were able to move 40+ KM on average daily is impressive on its own and even a private let alone anyone with any military schooling or experience will tell you that.

D)

shooting at civilians trying to use a "humanitarian corridor

There are numerous pictures and videos of Ukranians hiding tanks, APCs, etc. behind civilian infrastructure including schools. Unfortunately, using human shields is a part of modern urban warfare so of course there's going to be civilian casualties.

twitter.com/y_akopov/status/1498923100653633536

That's not a representative of Russia or Putin's government... it's some Russian dude living in London talking about cycling (how i know he's a douche already as all cyclists are douchebags) and home gym equipment that no one has ever heard of...

I'm not even going to bother to look up the other two if these are your examples of Russians believing it'd be over in 1-2 days.

I noticed that, too. Other than that, a yes to every sentence in your post. Just keep in mind who you are debating with. These clowns may sound like guys but in reality, they are just emotional pawian-grade girls.

And... (I'll make it easier for you) what's the connection between furs, Islam and the annexation of Crimea?

Russian army of Christ

Really? Are we talking about the same Russia where so many children are murdered in their mothers' wombs? The same Russia which has the highest abortion rate in the world, the 3rd highest divorce rate in the world, and where sexual "morality" has contribued to African-like HIV prevalence rate?

Army of Christ indeed! :D

I don't know.

The "Mink revolution" or "mink coat protests" was a mini-protest movement in Russia in late 2012. The protests themselves (symbolized by unsympathetic oligarch girlfriend types) was very unsuccessful but somehow did lead to the public revelation of how Putin 'won' the second Chechen war.

Short story.... he didn't, he agreed that Russian law would not apply to Chechnya and they could have their little Shariah kingdom as long as it's governor (Kadyrov) remained loyal to Putin. Also a lot of money was diverted from the rest of the country to Chechnya to make this possible (Chechens are not enchanted by the charms of honest labor and prefer to lay around and/or engage in crime or shoot each other - a very unsympathetic culture).

All this becoming public led to a serious fall in his public stock which led to him looking for a way to regain his popularity. The Euromaidan eventually ended up with him having the idea of 'regaining' Crimea and record approval ratings.

Also, he did have experts look at the idea of annexing Crimea ahead of time and they told him "It will be an economic disaster, a catastrophe.... don't do it." He thanked them for their advice and did it (leading to a big fall in the price of the ruble which it had not come close to regaining at the beginning of the current debacle.

Putin has an MO, when his popularity is falling he looks for likely places to invade....

He probably assumed reaction to his Ukrainian adventure would be the same as the reaction to Crimea, an outraged howl that quickly faded out.

Next question.... Why is Putin most heavily targeting Mariupol, Odessa and Kharkiv and not other cities? There is an answer (related to 2014)....

s. The Russians have sent in 95% of their 150 K they had available. They are getting their a$$es kicked around every corner.

They have 400-450k on the border, of which they sent in 150k... the weakest 1/3 formed mostly of young conscripts and in 70s era vehicles that don't even have GPS let alone night vision... again, cannon fodder to test the situation. the professional soldiers are high tech weapons are currently in reserves. An invasion is launched with different fronts and waves.

Lastly, it's the Ukranians retreating from positions, not the Russians. The Russians invaded, occupied and continue to occupy all major airports within 24 hours. Considering how much they already occupied with their weakest soldiers while Ukranian is throwing everything including the kitchen sink and were able to advance 40-50+ km daily during the first week tells you all you need to know. The Chechens are just begging to be set in and I'm sure the Cossacks are getting itchy trigger fingers to. Once they're let loose the Ukranians won't know how to handle them.

I believe they're split the country in half down the middle at Kiev and keep the eastern part. That's where most of the Russian population lives, that's the axis their forces took to control (they'll start doing pincers around cities soon), and where they'll have the least resistance versus w. Ukranian i.e. Lwow.

I'm not supporting Russia in this. They're causing a lot of problems for Poland, US and of course Ukraine. Nonetheless, I'm trying to be realistic about the situation and trying to figure out how to best maximize a profit during this unique situation.

Scroll to the bottom and see how many battles Russia has won so far vs Ukraine during this invasion

Why is Putin most heavily targeting Mariupol, Odessa and Kharkiv and not other cities?

To get the Ukranians out, Kharkiv is a very industrial city and well Mariupol is the base of Azov battalion. Odessa most likely to control more ports and land more amphibious vehicles while cutting off sea access

Thanks, maf. That was interesting and I trust true.
In Putin's defense, his problem was Chechnya. We had Clinton and the blue dress. Same MO except that it was Serbia and some pharma factory in Africa.

I have to ask have you ever been to Ukraine or are you armchair quarterbacking based on western media. Because based on your statements its pretty clear you dont know much about Ukraine. The news you are getting is a lot different than the news over here.

Facts are that Russia has put 95% into action. They do not have the modern equipment people imagine they have. All military spending went into bombs and long range technology. Their soldiers, in elite divisions, are wearing gear that we would not use out deer hunting. These are facts, not guess work, not opinions. These facts are coming from people, real people on the ground, real people involved in killing and capturing these Russian F's.

Wikipedia is not a resource. It is a toilet.

Military expert and microbiologist Igor Nikulin commented in the RT stream about the emergence of pneumonic plague in Western Ukraine.

"There have been some reports that the pneumonic plague has appeared in Western Ukraine. Now millions of Ukrainians who have rushed to Western Europe are bringing it there," he said.

Nikulin added that this situation will become much more terrible than a coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, Igor Kirillov, head of the troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the Russian Armed Forces, said that more than 30 laboratories in Lviv, Kharkiv and Poltava conducted work with dangerous infectious agents as part of a military-biological program led by the United States.

get the Ukranians out,

These were cities that had very strong and expressive reactions against Russians.... who showed up trying to drum up interest in Putin's Novorossija project. Specifically the are of downtown areas where the largest anti-Russian protests took place was targeted for destruction.

Another interesting detail, sometime in late 2020, a poll was published in Ukraine, where for the first time, Viktor Medvedchuk's For Life party, which is perceived as pro-Russian, surpassed Zelensky's party in popularity. This was followed by the arrest of Medvedchuk and the shutdown of three Russian-language television stations.

People ask yourself this question...

It's not clear to me:

Ukraine

- a country with enormous natural resources and raw materials

- extraordinary position

- somewhere I read among the most educated European nations

- beautiful nature and cities (old buildings, churches), huge tourist potential

And the result:

- the poorest and most corrupt European country with marauding neo-nazi banderist gangs that roam ????????????

Who controls the Ukraine?
