Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

That's why, this time, we don't necessarily have to be at the front of the attack. We had our fair share of bloodshed throughout history, to put it very mildly, so let others do some fighting now for a change. We can accept refugees, take children to our schools and wounded to our hospitals, send blankets, medicine and baby food, but sending offensive weapons (not to mention armed forces) can wait a little.

Let's, for once in our history, leave the silly heroism behind, shall we? :-/

Good job! These images were of a strike by a Russian cruise missile that was intercepted by Kiev's anti-air defenses. So instead of continuing to its target, the missile crashed into a building. In the same way, Ukrainians have hit several of their own residential buildings with anti-air missiles.

I don't understand what you don't buy about Ukrainians positioning artillery and tanks near schools and hospitals? They shoot at Russians from these positions, and Russians are supposed to just roll over and die? Is not the responsibility on the Ukrainian Armed Forces to keep the fighting away from civilian structures like these? Do you think Americans would pause for a single second in deciding their response? The hospital would be flattened.

Or the Ukrainians deliberately made these hospitals and schools into military targets - just as civilians with guns.


Propaganda - show the school in ruins. Don't show the artillery piece next to it. Brilliant.

I am so happy you asked. There are two possible outcomes. (1) Russians don't target the hospital. Win. (2) Russians destroy the artillery piece and the hospital. Propaganda win. Easy choice.

BTW, during the Warsaw Uprising, Germans tried the same method with human shields. It didn't work.

In wartime it's treason to broadcast propaganda and the Admin himself could well end up in court over the shocking stuff he allows people to post here. He was quick enough to suspend Adrian/Dirk over the Holocaust denial stuff because that's definitely a court case in the waiting and since then Adrian has kept his big gob shut about it.

I remember a long time ago, about five years ago I think when that French lady, InPolska disappeared from the forum she said that she had discovered something very sinister about this place and that she wasn't going to stay for that reason.

Handing over ex-Soviet planes wasn`t originally the Polish idea. Poles are too conservative for that. Besides, it would mean weakening Polish air force by 30% just like that. It must have been some NATO official`s concept which surfaced during American- Ukrainian -Polish secret talks. Most probably the official suggested that Poland would be compensated with second hand F-16s.

It was Ukrainians who all of a sudden enthusiastically announced that 4 ex Warsaw Pact countries would hand their old planes to Ukraine. If it was only the Polish initiative, they would have mentioned only Poland. Very simple.

A few days ago Prime Minister met NATO officials and they talked about "armament supplies." The context suggested it was Polish weaponry. I immediately thought of Soviet made jet fighters (about 20) and T-72 tanks. Now the deal is taking proper shape. Poland, Bulgaria and Czechia are going to supply Ukraine with planes.

@Bobko, I've seen that upper photo before and pawian commented on that already. I think it's obvious that when you're defending a city you have to place artillery somewhere. In the first photo it isn't placed next to a building, but in an open space. And in the next two photos it looks like those tanks are hiding. You have no evidence that they were placed there deliberately so the buildings would get hit and they could show it on TV.


Not photo, but videos. And what about that video of a tank destroying a car on the road with an elderly couple inside and killing them on spot? How are you going to explain that?

There have been several, and in only one case was it a Russian vehicle. The armored vehicle in central Kiev that flattened a civilian vehicle with the passengers inside was Ukrainian, operated by a terrified Ukrainian driver. Terrified because he was being shot at by Kiev citizen militias after an announcement half an hour earlier by Ukrainian officials that Russians dressed in Ukrainian uniforms and driving Ukrainian vehicles are breaking through into Kiev. Later story got debunked, and Ukrainian MoD admitted this was friendly fire.

Listen, it's not my job to be the apologist for every instance of civilian casualties in this conflict. I am sure there are many perpetrated by Russians. I am sure there is also rape, and looting, and outright murder. I think you do not understand what war is.

@Paulina An additional fact to consider is that for many defenders the city they are positioned in is foreign to them. A guy from Lviv might have the opinion that "if we are retreating, I will leave these Russian collaborators with ruins for a city."
