Western Hypocrisy

There are thousands of people dying in Yemen daily thanks to America's allies the Saudis to whom USA and UK sell weapons and have a 100 billion dollars per year business deals:

nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/26/world/middleeast/saudi-arabia-war-yemen.html?mtrref=undefined

Lets' not forget the USA's staunchest of the staunchiest allies, that "great democracy" of the middle east, helping the Saudis wipe out a nation:

jpost.com/Middle-East/Report-Israel-sold-250m-of-sophisticated-spy-systems-to-Saudi-Arabia-570539

"Saudi Arabia and Israel held secret meetings which led to an estimated $250-million deal, including the transfer of Israeli espionage technologies to the kingdom"

It's bad but we should never have become reliant on war criminals

True.

A bit of history - it looks like trusting Russians to keep their word is a bad idea:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Ilovaisk

"After days of encirclement, Ukrainian commander Yuriy Bereza came to an agreement with Russian commanders in Ilovaisk to allow Ukrainian troops to withdraw from the city. This agreement was not honoured, and many soldiers died whilst trying to escape."

We are lying about Ukraine on an epic scale

There is so much misinformation about Ukraine that we have never seen anything like it, we are lying on an epic scale, warned the well-known American journalist Laura Logan, who has been reporting on wars for 35 years, on the TV channel "Real American Voice".

Putin is isolated, misinformed, that his intelligence and generals either failed or lied to him about situation in Ukraine.

He's certainly arrested enough of his cronies from the FSB. And is doing very very badly in his war.

I doubt Putler cares about much other than genocide snd destruction.

Do I detect a hint of good old Polish antisemitism there?

Probably. This is the same guy who was defending the thugs who marched through Kalisz chanting "death to Jews" and who has said here that he believes the votes of Jewish Poles are worth less than the votes of Catholic Poles.

He also praised the murderer of President Narutowicz.

We're talking full-on Looney Tunes here.

We cannot allow nuclear Black Mail from Putin to determine the fate of the world.
It's time for this maniac to meet his Maker.
It's up to the Russian people to do it.
America now has Ukrainian refugees showing up at our southern border because of this madman.

Western Sanctions on Russia:

Pretty much...

I find it quite funny how people call Putin and Russia corrupt, evil, no free speech, opposition banned, etc. etc. Just as how there's democrats and republicans, the politics in jewkraine even with the dozens of various parties ultimately boil down to pro-eu or pro-Russia. Ever since the 90s they've had a tit for tat. One party wins, throw the top figures of their opposition in jail, then opposition wins, gets their people released, throws top figures of now opposition in jail. And of course taking turns beating up journos they dont' like, shutting down unfriendly TV/radio stations, etc. These people talk about oh we need to defend freedom! we need to defend democracy! now realizing that jewkraine is just as corrupt, I'd argue more corrupt, than Russia. Hell last month judensky shut down a bunch of pro-Russia TV stations... yeah real freedom of speech.... LOL...

We are lying about Ukraine on an epic scale

There is so much propaganda it's ridiculous. Just a moment ago I was watching 60 minutes interviewing the commander of some foreign fighters in Ukraine (aka Reddit Rambos) and he's saying how everything is peachy but then you have the actual volunteers telling people not to come, that it's a big trap, a total lie and they're sent out as cannon fodder with 10 bullets and a rusty AK47. Want to leave? Yeah good luck - they'll turn you away at the border. They've having to disguise themselves as aid workers to get across the Polish/Ukraine border.

I never thought stations like CNN and Fox would see eye to eye on something... The only person on mass media left asking legitimate why questions on the news is Tucker Carlson.

It's up to the Russian people to do it.

Unlikely. His approval rating actually went up a bit - I believe it was 70% to 71%. Also, a similar article stated that the majority, 57% support the war, 23% do not, etc.. And this isn't just Russian media saying it...

Ukrainians suffered much more.

Well, maybe if they respected the eastern territories i.e. Donetsk, Luhansk, etc. they wouldn't be getting obliterated right now and judensky wouldn't be on TV everyday crying uncle...

Fact is, every time a pro-EU candidate got into power, she/he'd clamp down on the pro-Russia people, and vice versa. They'd each take turns throwing each other in jail, banning their media outlets, ban their parties outright, etc. They'd always use the guise of bribery, corruption, graft, nepotism, etc. when everyone is doing the same damn thing regardless of pro-EU or pro-Russia.

They event went as far as banning public use of Russian - which like the all the other things would depend on how the political wind blew... when pro-Russians were in charge it would get repealed, then the pro-EU would reenact it, then pro-Russians repeal it, etc. etc.

Same old **** and I'm certain the average Ukrainians are tired of it. That's why even some of the Ukrainians that weren't hand picked for interviews and actually expressed how they felt stated that they're between a rock and a half place because either way they're screwed with a bad government, broke ass country, and no way out of continuing corruption.

So yes, Putin does have a valid point when he says Ukrainians were treating Russians like ****.

This same thing happened in Iraq with the Sunnis and Shia, it's no different now only with Russians and Ukranians. This is essentially a civil war and like a civil war there's proxies involved to various degrees.

At least if Ukraine does get split in half there will be long term peace - the western part will be Ukrainian and the eastern part Russian - just like the demographics and support base. In fact, that's what Putin is asking for to end this war - recognize Crimea and cede the eastern territories (i.e. Donetsk, Luhansk, etc.) and it'll all be over.

Yeah Putin is so evil because he's a dictator, he curtails free speech, jails/kills opposition figures, bans political parties, runs propaganda through state media and nationalizes outlets he doesn't like.. well guess what, judensky and the pro-EU people do all of the EXACT. SAME. THINGS!

How is this "Russian minority" determined?

It depends. It depends first on how the questionnaire form looks (but Ukraine has not had a proper census since independence, the one scheduled to happen in 2001 was suspect, and subsequent ones keep getting perennially delayed). Second it depends on how people feel at the moment. The number of self reported "Russians" in surveys keeps fluctuating wildly over the years. Since 2014, the number of people identifying as Russian has plummeted.

In certain cases, you can sort of guess at where Russians are, based on studying recent migration patterns in Imperial and Soviet times. However, this is also of limited use. The degree of intermarriage and movement around the formerly huge country makes this pretty useless.

So, it's not as simple as - persons with surnames ending in "-ov" are Russian, and those with "-ko" are Ukrainian.

Being Russian is not a color of skin, but a state of the soul.

There was a similarly long gap of ~30 years at the end of the 19th, beginning of the 20th century.

The first and last census in the Russian Empire was conducted in 1897. The next one was supposed to be conducted in 1915, but got cancelled due to WW1. As a result, the following census occurred only in 1926. This is the first one where it became possible to report oneself as Ukrainian. In the 1897 census the options were "Little Russian" for Ukrainians, and "White Russian" for Byelorussians. However, in the English language Wikipedia they used the modern terms for those groups. See below, from article on 1897 census:

I'll give you some examples of the less than reputable pro-EU types - Yulia Tymoshenko (bribery, corruption, etc. relating to gas deals), Pavlo Lazarenko (ally of Tymoshenko, doing time in the US for money laundering, extortion, etc. Siphoned $200 mil from the government + extortion of businessmen), Yuschenko (prevented investigations related to gas import deals of the Tymo government, financed by tiny hat tribe member Berezovsky), Poroshenko (accused of buying coal and minerals from separatists, created off-shore business entities while serving as president - a direct violation of the constituion), Turchynov (stole $800 mil with the help of the IMF, Wikileaks accused him of destroying Tymo's times to Semion Mogilevich - arguably most powerful mafia figure in the world), Yatsenyk (somehow acquired 30% of one of the many new TV stations that popped up during maidan and financed by the west, basically was put into power by tiny hat tribe member Victoria Nuland), Groysman (clearly not a tiny hat tribe member... declares a $15k income yet lists assets with Swiss watches worth several times that amount each... ) Bakanov (set up a bunch of off-shore companies with judensky so judensky's family could keep receiving millions while he was president, promoted to top position in SBU by judensky) and on and on...

Judensky is no angel either - he's received tens of millions (according to Panama papers) from media oligarchs and the money he hid with Bakanov...

It's no different though with Yanukovych, Azarov and the pro-Russia group. They've both equally corrupt and doing the exact same things they accuse their opponents of doing.

And like Putin, each side has killed journalists they found unfriendly or were about to expose them or their circle, jailed people they don't like, shut down media often using tax authorities as a weapon)

Blah blah blah criminals in Ukraine, Nazi's, Jews, Oligarchs and everyone else that people can point fingers at or place labels on. Every country has criminals in power, Jews in power, and all the other sub segments. Who GAF?! The bottom line here is Putin started a war. Period. His army is killing innocent people. Period.

That's it. That is the only framework of this discussion that matters. Russia does not "own" Ukraine, and Ukraine owes nothing to Russia. This is an imperialistic war and nothing more.

The strange thing is that it is so obviously poorly planned, and even more terribly executed. Russian soldiers are dying by the thousands. In short order Russia will lose more men that the US did in 20 years in the middle east! Russia will accomplish this feat in a month. Russian military equipment is absolute $hi*, and they are getting beaten by a smaller army with less training.

These are the only facts that matter. Russia is losing, and they can not win. The weather is turning here, and by the end of the week Europe will be seeing temps approaching 20 degree's. And that means all the actual swamps and wetlands around Ukraine will thaw, leaving the Russian army in the mud. Good luck moving tanks and trucks in a foot of mud. This is why Russia is escalating the pounding of cities now. This is why Russia wants people to surrender now. The Generals who have not been killed yet, know exactly what is going to happen. Once they are in the mud they are sitting ducks. Happy gulag.

They've both equally corrupt and doing the exact same things they accuse their opponents of doing.

This may well be true; there is, however, one major difference - Ukrainian army didn't invade a neighbouring country and is not slaughtering civilians.

The bottom line here is Putin started a war. Period. His army is killing innocent people. Period.

Yip. That's it in a nutshell. I would also say: two wars, not one, because the one in Donbass is also his work - inciting the locals, sending leaders from Russia and arming the "insurgents". Add to this the threats of using nuclear weapons and constant economic blackmail against the West using gas and oil (which at the moment backfired at Russia big time), and you will have fuller picture of the problem.

Nobody would give a f*ck as to whether Zelensky is less corrupt than Putin or Yulia Tymoshenko more corrupt than Yanukovych etc. etc. as long as they didn't start an all out war in 21st century Europe. Putin did, and now he will have to face consequences - welcome to the world of pain (and sh*t sandwiches).

People overestimate the U.S. War machine

Perhaps. However, seeing as Ukrainian army is doing a great job fighting Russians, my bet would be that American army would do an even better job. We wouldn't even need the Americans - if it wasn't for nukes, European NATO armies would be more than enough to end this war in two weeks.

Irish Politicians GO OFF On Western Hypocrisy Over Ukraine

I took one look at the image and thought to myself 'Clare Daly'..........probably accompanied by her pals Ming Flanagan and Mick Wallace. I didn't need to watch the vid as her views have already been widely reported on in the Irish media. They're what you like to call 'leftists' and they're MEPs. Thought you felt that leftists should be taken out and shot? No? Or maybe you suddenly like them when they're useful to you?? Flanagan has zero credibility in Irish politics for many reasons and Clare Daly not much better. They're even distrusted and disliked by their own colleagues.

Now, having put that in context (you should really never, never reference Ireland here, you seem to forget I'm Irish, I know the political scene there far too well, very small country), within days Flanagan changed his mind. He's a slippery individual always. Here's what he had to say:

"I didn't feel at the time that voting in favour of the resolution would help the situation. Possibly make it worse. I didn't feel it was sincere that the Parliament was condemning Russia while at the same time ignoring what was happening in places like Yemen and Palestine. Now I think there's nothing to lose. If the vote was today I'd support it. He added that action now was important, and called for the expulsion of the Russian ambassador to Ireland, the freezing of Russian money in the IFSC, and the exclusion of Russian banks from the Swift international payments system

The other two are enjoying their Holy Martyr status, 'ooh we're poor little victims being harassed for our views'. Not as badly harassed as the people of Ukraine.

Btw the Irish government doesn't ignore Palestine. We're one of the few countries whose government has consistently supported the Palestinians. Back when I was a teenager we all knew about Palestine and walked around the placed draped in PLO scarves. The PLO had an office in O'Connell Street and held rallies outside the GPO every weekend.

we are lying on an epic scale, warned the well-known American journalist Laura Logan,

I'm afraid that since that moment when she had to take leave of absence from CBS News because of her inaccurate report on Benghazi attack (she blamed it on her source - that he lied to her), she went off the rails and started spreading all kinds of conspiracy theories and hoaxes (including one being spread by Identity Evropa, a white nationalist organisation) and promoting falsehoods (about AIDS, for example o_O). Even here in the video you posted she's raving more about her pet peeves, like this war being about Putin fighting globalists and ranting about "deep state", etc. than about the war itself, reasons for it and the realities of it.

Sorry, but this woman is cuckoo.

Always check the source, people!

That's what nuclear weapons did - they made far reaching degeneration

No , nuclear weapons were sopoused to be the opposite MAD - Mutually Assured Destruction. No *superpower was meant to start a war because it mean nuclear war. putin has flipped the script, he's saying i will start a war and if u touch me i will go nuclear, that is not MAD, that is why he needs to be nipped in the bud.

Well, in Poland they might as well be combined - since the beginning of the invasion TVP and TVN have been broadcasting more or less the same thing. :) But, seriously, this one thing annoys me - censorship of pro-Russian sources. I don't have to agree with them, but still I'd like to read what they have to say. In Poland not only Sputnik or RT were banned but they are even blocking the webpage of "Myśl Polska" (a pro-Russian weekly magazine). That's ridiculous.

Inna Sovsun, a Ukrainian MP, claimed on Sunday that people trapped in Mariupol were being taken against their will across the border and farther into Russia.

"They're taking Ukrainian citizens, sending them through what are called filtration camps, and then relocating them to distant parts of Russia to work for free," Sovsun told Times Radio. "This is the logic of Nazi Germany."

Just wait until the weather warms up and there is a foot of mud to render Putin's tanks helpless.

Not currently since they have a rag tag army with rusty AKs and any decent hardware they have they got from judensky oy vey'ing for donations....

The ukrops did however slaughter hundreds of thousands of Poles under the red and black banner. And today they're begging Poland to help them.... It's a shame that Polish people have already forgotten that. The OUN and all the others with a similar ideology and even sharing the same emblems i.e. Right Sector, Azov, National Corps, Svoboda, etc. still exist today.

These are the people that Putin wants to clear out and that's precisely why Mariupol got their **** wrecked - it is where Azov has their HQ after all...
