Look, Poland wants to use the US and the German base so Russia doesnt see Poland as the country escalating things. I get it, Russia a lot less likely to attack Poland if the US is the dirty party. Smart really. But it really is passing the buck. Poland could have and should have just handed the planes to the Ukraine pilots that were in Poland waiting for them.

Should NATO go in? Yes. But they should just go in and wipe out the Russians. F a peace keeping force that will likely get attacked anyway. If you go in, go in heavy and really bring peace. Don't announce it, just do it, and take Putin by surprise.

I like the idea. Red Square - a 100-mile circle. NY - a nice quiet spot. No crime. No rats.

You obviously dont get the context of my writing. Russia is not about to attack the US mainland. US and NATO should go into Ukraine and end this. Its pretty simple at this point. Putin will either have to retreat or send in more troops, or escalate. They are already running out of smart weapons, so either small nuke, or bio. I doubt he uses either.

My fault. I do tend to take what I read literally. "Wipe out the Russians" meant to me (H+N)x1000.

There was a chance to address 1 without going to 2 and keep Ukrainians at home and alive. The Z swamp didn't see things that way before the tanks rolled in. They do now.

Oh please - we've been down that road before, you and I. Ireland was still part of the United Kingdom in the first world war and we did not 'sit it out'. Irish men volunteered in their tens of thousands (no conscription in Ireland) not to mention those already enlisted in the British Army. About 200,000 Irish fought in the first world war. On my mother's side every man was already serving in the British Army at the outbreak of war and two lost their lives during the conflict. In WWII Ireland was independent and neutral and Irish men didn't have to join that fight but they did in every branch of the services. Please don't disrespect their memory.

The Political class? No such thing like in Europe. It is party politics here, two parties and the only classes are the wealthy and not wealthy in both parties. If you think it has to do with nukes, then you don't understand.

Nukes would destroy Europe long before reaching the USA. In the US there are still enough places for people to escape to that the country would survive, Europe would not. Russia would be in worse shape in a limited exchange than the US because of the lower population numbers. Nukes are a deterrent. Thats it.

A no fly zone has not be proposed officially by any NATO member and only by Ukraine. It is not the US responsibility to solve this problem independently. It is easily arguable that it is the EU problem because Ukraine is European. Dazzle you with BS? Really? Where TF would Ukraine be today if not for US weapons and money?

With all the warnings from the US, why weren't migs shipped to Ukraine before the invasion? Why didnt Germany and the others get off their a$$es and do something to prevent the invasion? Stop pointing fingers at the US and get your own houses in order.

Ukraine, as corrupt as it was/is, was starting to overtake Russia economically. A relatively prosperous and democratic Ukraine was a far bigger threat to Putin than NATO could ever be.

Yes, Russian was loosing influcne in Ukraine fast, due to econamical nd cultural reasons, so that was the window of opportunity for Russia to stop it.


The USA could have done it itself. Stop bringing the EU or Germany, first is not a county and Germany as I have said was cozy with Russia and ready to make a deal with it to kick USA from Europe.

IF Ukrainie would have falledn fast - nothing would change.

As for Poland - why do you pass the buck onto Poland? We might be that in the fututre - to take that role in the region but we are not there yet and the USA haven't done a single thing to help us bulid up.

So it is up to the US, to do something more as you have means. Russia won't nuke you. They have no chance against you with conventional army. You are in a prefect postion to strike.

it is a window of opportunity not only for Ukrainie and Poland but also for the USA. You can knock out Russia from being a forece you need to recon with in the eastern europe and europe.
