Yes. After Poland surrendered, the German offensive ended and the war activities stopped. The same took place in Denmark, France, and Norway. Holocaust is another matter and had nothing to do with war activities such as bombing and shelling.

My parents lived very normal lives in Warsaw and my father had a small business. Then came that idiotic Warsaw Uprising...

6 million Polish civilians were killed in Poland during WW2 - 3 million ethnic Poles and 3 million Jews. Overwhelming majority of them were killed AFTER September 1939.

If Holocaust is "another matter", then still about 100,000 ethnic Polish civilians died during September Campaign, and 2.9 million after Poland surrendered.

We don`t know who killed people Bucha but many accuse Russia. One reminder. In similar situation in Bosnia, Serbs were accused by many and later was find out that Muslims killed their own civilians in order to attract media attention and win war in mass media.

Do you have any arguments based on current events? Not comparisons to events of the past involving the US and other countries, but any actual intelligent and informed opinions on the actual events taking place? Your comments are tired, and old. This was reported days ago in western media. I've already mentioned it at least twice, including once yesterday on this very forum. It's strange how you believe without question that these videos are genuine but all the dead Ukrainians are fake??? Why is that?

Strikingly, the response from the Ukrainian government has been what one would expect from a civilised nation. They have condemned those actions and vowed to investigate and punish if found to be true. On the other hand the Russian government, puerile scum that they are, have denied everything.

I can tell you there are a lot more than 4500 US in Poland. That comes right from US soldiers I have met in Krakow. More than 10,000 according to them and more arriving regularly.

Nawalny got very, very lucky. If the symptoms had manifested 30 minutes later, he would have been dead.

Nawalny, a prominent enemy of Putin got poisened in Russia, by a Russian nerve agent, while being closely followed by Russian agents and the response of Russian officials indicates that they wanted him to die. Afterwards Russia made no attempts to investigate the attempted murder of one its' citizens or the use of a banned nerve agent on its' territory.All of this happened when - as we know today - Putin was cracking down on the last figures of opposition in preparation of the invasion of Ukraine. shorter version: Russian army is basically still Soviet in structure and not at all prepared or able to fight the kind of war it found itself in. What's worse (for Russia, better for Ukraine) is that Russian institutional culture makes improvement impossible. There is simply too much negative selection (explained here*)

At the same time, Ukraine completely reformed and reshaped its military (while not making a big deal out of it). They had figured out likely Russian tactics and were able to counter them while Russia was counting on a Czechoslovak style immediate surrender and hasn't been able to adapt fast enough to really achieve any of its political goals (negative selection is a vengeful b1tch).

Also, the morale is all on the Ukrainian side. They suffered a humiliating loss in 2014 but survived (the two together are the most effective factors for institutional change there are). They know they're fighting for freedom and a better future while the Russians.... are not. They're fighting for a kleptocratic regime and so are more interested in immediate plunder than miliatary or political goals.

Navalny is not much better than Putin. They both share the same Russian imperialism but differ in their take on corruption. Nawalny thinks that corruption need to be erradicated but agree with all geopolitical aims of Putin.


Germany and the West believed that they were dealing with thieves, and that imperialism of Russian elite was only a cover for theft. That what made them trustwordy and realiable in the eyes of western elite. Therefore, Western politicians considered themselves very clever people who take advantage of Russian fools.
