Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

pawian
18 Apr 2022  #8641

it's not about buying gas, but about moral condemnation of Russia.

Moral condemnation while still buying gas and financing Putin`s war is a parody, in fact.

Serbs can go and f*ck themselves

Yes, I am also tempted to adopt such an attitude. But we should realise that in this way we are pushing them even further into RuSSian sphere of influence. While it is necessary to work on them so that they gradually see that the EU can offer them more than RuSSia. We need to convince those neutral Serbs and then let them join the EU. Rabid nationalists like Crow are lost to us but with patience and time and a good approach towards Serbia, they will soon become completely unimportant.

pushing them even further into RuSSian sphere of influence

At the moment, many of them are quite fearful of the future. Their precious support for and from russia may well rebound on them, as they very well know.

The free world's response to russian aggression in Ukraine tells the what awaits them if they try to terrorise Kosovo or Bosnia, if they didn't know that to their cost already.

tells the what awaits them if they try to terrorise Kosovo or Bosnia,

Exactly. They have to realise that regaining Kosovo or Bosnia is out of question coz they will be crushed if they try and RuSSia, troubled with its own problems, won`t help them. If they have cherished any hopes so far, they should give them up now and become a peace loving European nation at last. With such a positive approach, they will be ready to join the EU one day.

That was my initial idea: we need to educate them, not reject. :)

Moral condemnation while still buying gas and financing Putin`s war is a parody, in fact.

No, it isn't. Realpolitik done by politicians is one thing, the attitude of a whole or a majority of the society is another. This moral condemnation reflects the attitude of particular nations and it's important for me. Poland and Germany are buying Russian gas either out of necessity or because they're cheap. Not because they like or they don't care what Russia is doing to Ukraine.

While it is necessary to work on them so that they gradually see that the EU can offer them more than RuSSia.

Oh, I'm sure they realise that already. It doesn't mean they will change their attitude towards Russia and it's actions. Serbian-Russian bonds go further and deeper than just NATO bombing of Serbia. And look at Hungary - they're in the EU and so what?

pawian
18 Apr 2022  #8645

it's important for me.

Yes, we know and we respect you even more for that. :):)
However, rejecting Serbs in such an emotional way will do more harm than good. We need to educate, not reject. :):)

Serbian-Russian bonds go further and deeper

A drop of water erodes a rock. :):) Nothing is given for ever. Rejecting Serbs will petrify the current state of affairs.

Nothing is lost yet.Thousands of volunteers from all over the world have decided to fight for free Ukraine. Have you heard of any Serbs going to RuSSia to fight on its side in Ukraine? I haven`t. See? There is still hope.

reflects the attitude of particular nations

Remember, Paulina, that some countries have people who are more circumspect about what they say to, for example, pollsters; particularly,if they too have lived though a bloody civil war which traumatised many of them and which they fear the return of.

In a time of war, that is no excuse.

This is a sign of shame.

This is a sign of shame.

On the one hand, yes, you are right.
On the other hand, Europe must still have some arguments in reserve to teach RuSSists a lesson. After all possible sanctions and boycottes have been applied, Putin will feel completely free in Ukraine. Do you really want it?

Miloslaw
18 Apr 2022  #8649

. Do you really want it

Do I real!y want what?

West European's need to cut Russia completely off now!

jon357

This is a sign of shame

As as if there wasn't enough there already when it comes to crises. The Munich Olympics Massacre in 1972 comes to mind. Not only were they forewarned (and what do they know that we don't about russia right now?) and did nothing, and not only did they refuse to allow Israeli special forces to rescue the athletes who were being tortured to death (as they refused to allow military aid for Ukraine to be transported through or over Germany) but their army literally stood by and did nothing due to some clause in their laws (that was younger than some of the athletes!) preventing their soldiers from being deployed and leaving it to the woefully unprepared and untrained Munich police.

They stood by and did nothing, maybe less than nothing, all for their own convenience. Just as their response to the tragedy in Ukraine has been not only weak, but actively aiding russia. Even their recent military aid has a cash value less than they pay russia for gas in two days.

It's a malign, self-serving and calculated, hypocrisy and it is costing many lives now and many more if this escalates.

RuSSists have commenced their offensive in Donbas area. Let us pray for Ukrainians so that they can hold as strong and brave against RuSS hordes as they have been doing so far.

Reports now coming out that 40 people died on the Russian ship and many more are missing. In a related report, oceanographers are now reporting that the feeding of bottom feeding fish in the Black Sea will be discontinued for a month so as to not encourage fish obesity.

It looks like the big orc push for the Donbas has started.

May Ukraine be victorious and may the invaders return horizontally.

A curse on the russians and all who enable them.

Everyone is talking about Poland accepting so many refugees, but look at Moldova...

Ukrainian refugees

... 424k in a country of 2.6 million! That's 16% of their population, compared to Poland's 7%. Quite incredible for a small, relatively poor country that is neither in the EU nor NATO.

in a country of 2.6 million

One of the poorest in Europe too. I hope they will receive financial support for this.

Everyone is talking about Poland accepting so many refugees, but look at Moldova...

Yes, it might look so but remember those are only registered entries into a country. After arriving, refugees may stay or continue their journey further. Part of those Moldova refugees are later registered in Romania or Hungary.

In other news from Moscow, President Putin was found passed out drunk in Gorky Park with a transvestite hooker face down in his lap. When police intervened President Putin claimed the transvestite was from Ukraine and he was only doing his part for the war effort. This too was on MSNBC along with your reporting.

jon357

many more are missing

Up to 400 orcs dead apparently, and reports that the russian 'captain' abandoned ship at the first opportunity.

Reports say that the missile took out the ship's electronic systems first. The sea was calm too; the russian reports of "choppy seas" sinking the ship were of course their usual lies.

A curse on the russians

Your curse came true as beer supplies are drying up in Russia.
Russia reportedly imports 98% of the hops used in the country every year to make beer, and brewers are now projecting that they could soon run out of the ingredient.

In an confusing update on President Putin being found with a transvestite, it turns out the transvestite was not Ukrainian after all. The transvestite who was "c0c* worshiping" Putin was no other than Tucker Carlson.

Don't keep confusing DaRuskie with the facts.

In other news, the first shipments of the latest round of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine, which includes heavier weapons systems, started arriving in the region over the weekend, according to the Pentagon.

The recently approved $800 million in security assistance includes Howitzer artillery systems, 40,000 artillery rounds, armored personnel vehicles and other weapons.

Another great thread by Galeev is up on the underlying causes of the war (hint: the word NATO appears not at all).

There's some simplification along the way (understandable given the format) but still right in a lot of the outlines on the relationship between nation state and standard language (and how this is fundamentally different from the pre-modern world).

Most immportantly he examines how Russian values are rooted in Pushkin (a nasty vile person with nasty vile ideas) or more recently Brodsky (ditto on the nastiness).

twitter.com/kamilkazani/status/1516162437455654913

some money quotes: "Cultural differences between Russia and Ukraine include different understanding of personal agency, personal dignity and collective action. In Russia these ideas were thoroughly extirpated by the Russian state over the centuries."

"Russian state destroyed the idea of human dignity in Russia. Russian people interiorised the idea that they have no dignity of their own. Their dignity, their importance, their self-worth derived from their belonging (=submission) to the empire"

"For a holder of Ukrainian cultural memes, Russian cultural memes looked absolutely disgusting, more like a zombie creed than as a human culture."

Captured ukrops in the battleground near Izyum.

apparently anchors at the Crimea24 news station in Crimea are already referring to Kherson as the 'Kherson People's Republic', 'that is, an entirely separate and seceded political entity from the Ukrainian Central Government.'

And not far away, the Energodar city sign changed from a Ukrainian to Russian flag:

Russell Texas Bentley on His Concerns Over the Upcoming Battle For the Donbass

My points:

Russia is fighting mainly Russians. (The minds of some Ukrainians have been corrupted after 8 years of constant brainwashing by western propaganda and western media structures that were installed in Ukraine after the Maidan.

Russia is fighting the largest and best equipped army in Europe, which would trounce any Euro nation's army in a fight. Ukraine has been given everything these last 8 plus years by the West.

Russia needs to stop thinking of this as a limited military operation.

Russia should have put half a million troops into Ukraine and physically removed the puppets in Kiev.

No 'negotiations'/talks til the operation to free the ENTIRE Ukraine is complete.
