The French Navy has intercepted a cargo ship heading for the Russian city of St. Petersburg in the English Channel, the BBC reports. French officials told the British broadcaster the ship had been intercepted under the terms of new European Union sanctions and said it was diverted to the northern port of Boulogne-Sur-Mer. "A 127-meter-long Russian cargo ship called 'Baltic Leader' carrying cars was intercepted overnight by the French Navy in the English Channel and escorted to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France," the official said.

The official continued, according to the BBC: "It was brought to the French port at a request from the French government on suspicion of belonging to a company targeted by EU sanctions against Moscow.....

Meanwhile, Polish FA has announced that Poland will not play Russia in world cup playoffs, regardless of any FIFA's future decisions (or lack of them). Robert Lewandowski and other Polish NT players fully support the decision. There is no way that any person with even a grain of humanitarian feelings could do otherwise.

Possibly Putin became obsessed with idea the the West looks for opportunity to wage a nuclear war against Russia at least somewhere in the future. And may use some proxy states and Russian neighbours for provocations to start the war. I wonder when we will be able to live and develop peacefully without wars and military blocks? ... there are thousands of Russian soldiers' bodies in need of transport. I hope Red Cross will assist Ukraine in this humanitarian mission of returning the bodies. The family members of the fallen soldiers in Russia will certainly be grateful.

Just got official report from Putin Press-secretary. Zelensky refused to meet in Minsk for diplomatic negotiations. Russian troops got order to continue operations, that was suspended yesterday.

The former Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, hasn't ruled out nationalizing the Russian-based assets of foreigners registered in "hostile jurisdictions."

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg (62) announced on Friday for the first time in the history of the defense alliance that the rapid deployment force (NATO Response Force or NRF) would be relocated - that didn't even exist during the Cold War.

The task force comprises 40,000 soldiers, including 13,700 Bundeswehr soldiers. Stoltenberg did not reveal where exactly the troops were being transferred to. He only spoke of several thousand soldiers who should be deployed on land, at sea and in the air. They were to be deployed at various locations in the Eastern Alliance area.

What is certain so far: 1,200 NATO soldiers will be stationed in Slovakia alone, including a company from the Bundeswehr (60-250 men). Germany is also deploying a "Patriot" anti-aircraft system to Ukraine's neighbor.....

According to information from the German Press Agency, ground troops could also be sent to Romania, southwest of Ukraine. Italy announced on Saturday that it would send four fighter jets. Norway is also on the list.
