Bobko

@Bratwurst Boy
It is $100 billion and btw it is not for only Germany but EU at large.

GefreiterKania
27 Feb 2022  #2,162

What are 100 Milliarden in English? (That's what Scholz said) Not 1 Billion?

English 1 billion is German 1 milliard not 100 milliarden. :)

It's the same in Polish btw - 10^9 is miliard and 10^12 is bilion.

No...that's foremost "Sondervermögen" for the german armed forces aka Bundeswehr....for Europe and NATO are the 2% every year additionally!

I told ya....WOW! :)

GefreiterKania

So, Russia spends about $60 billion a year for its entire military budget and Germany now wants to spend TWICE that, just "to plug the biggest holes quickly"?

Ha, ha - let me now say this: WOW!!! :D

Bratwurst Boy

What a day! What a change for Germany.....I bet Putin never thought of that!

GefreiterKania

$100 billion just to "quickly plug the biggest holes"!

Forget France - even I myself am trembling now! :)

Scholz said something about France too.....something about the new german-french airfighter project.....what was that...*scratches head*

Wowowow so much wow! Maybe 10 years of such investment and question of Lebensraum can be revisited!

Trump said all when called Putin a genius.

Trump: Putin is smart, our leaders are dumb.

A weak Germany isn't right.....a strong Germany isn't right....what should it be? Decision time!

Maybe 10 years of such investment and question of Lebensraum can be revisited!

Hmm...

what should it be? Decision time!

I have a brilliant idea! Just pass the $100 billion to Poland for our military spending, then just sit back and relax - play some skat, drink some beer - we will take care of the defences. ;)

@Bratwurst Boy
Hmm - I thought Roosevelt and Stalin already made this decision? It needs to be made again?

Bratwurst Boy
27 Feb 2022  #2,173

How so? :)

Are you a russian troll getting all nostalgic thinking about the "good 'ol times"?

Putin is the new Hitler and Germany stands this time on the right side of history....sorry!

Actually...not-so-sorry at all!

You are useless you know. No one listens to Trump and he has zero impact on the marked for death status of all Russians now. Out walking my dog, and lots of Ukraine people in line at places that are over flowing with donations of food and clothing. Literally there are boxes and bags in piles outside of places because there is no more room in the buildings.

This is what Russia faces now, a truly united west. You and the meat have no chance. Imagine no visa's and all the pigs locked inside mother Russia. Starving, running out of western goods. Stealing from each other. Oh the good old days are returning for you all. Enjoy swimming in the oil you can not export. And once SWIFT ban kicks in, and then OPEC and the USA flood the system with oil, dropping it below $75 a barrel, you are done. The entire globe is against you. China wont even help you.

Just for interested people....the right now best upvoted comment in the SPIEGEL to that news, a usually left/green leaning, Russia friendly most important opinion-maker:

Scholz definitely gave a speech that can be described as historical and that had a surprising amount of substance. That was the final break with the Merkel era. He couldn't have done better.

A true Zeitenwende, not only in the government but in the people too....wild times!

That shock of Putin's invasion will have long lasting consequences...

You are useless you know.

You are an idiot you know. Is this a new wave? Instead of counterarguments a personal insult? Or that patronizing sh*it and fake concern about the opponent's mental health. That's how we know that you lost, idiot.

and all the pigs locked inside mother Russia.

I would swear that Russians are people. But, what do I know...BTW, those "pigs" liberated Poland in 1945.

That shock of Putin's invasion will have long lasting consequences...

...positive consequences... You should be grateful to the man for slapping you (editorial) out of your Western stupor. I tried so many times but without much success - especially your (editorial) refugee insanity.

(And Merkel gone)

A true Zeitenwende, not only in the government but in the people too....wild times!

I'm pretty sure that Germany is going to change their minds on Russia as soon as the Russian regime changes - and I don't blame them or anybody who does the same - everybody including Poland and myself would love to see a change in Russian regime for a more democratic one

Putin is the new Hitler

1

Wait until we see Russian soldiers lighting up Ukrainian children, on you-tube, as they toss Molotov cocktails.

Jews are masters of propaganda and the deeper Putin ventures into Kiev, the more graphic propaganda we'll see.

Zelensky should not be given safe passage to Israel. He needs to be shot as a traitor to Ukrainians.

Why not?

Putin is the *******, not the russian people!

As Scholz talked about the brave Russians who dare to openly protest Putin's war in Ukraine...risking beatings, Gulag and worse....the whole Bundestag stood up for standing ovations to applaud them...you should have seen that.

The russian people are not our enemy...only Putin and his cronies are!

*traditional Polish paranoia mode ON*

...what if... Scholz and Putin made a secret plan between them:

1. Putin attacks Ukraine and initially makes a complete bollox of it on purpose.
2. Germany, full of indignation, increases their military spending to, let's say, 2% GDP plus $100 billion just to "plug the holes".
3. German army becomes once again a power to be reckoned with.
4. Putin takes over Ukraine, everyone is extremely full of indignation but nothing can be done (nuclear weapons etc.).
5. Germany has to do something with their army, so they begin an operation of "demilitarization and dekaczynskification" of Poland.

*traditional Polish paranoia mode OFF*

Naaah.... Russian army is just demoralised, underfunded and incompetent, the free world will make Putin sorry for what he did, and Germany has changed and will act as a responsible leader of the EU of free and independent nations. :)

@Novichok
Now you care about who liberated Poland? Please. I have never been concerned fake or real about the opponents mental health. I am only concerned with how many we can kill. The idiot is the man in the United States who says he is from Poland who rails against his adopted country and his birth country while touting a tyrant. You talk talk talk like you are some expert on history and try to connect the past to the present while making nonsensical comparisons and analogies.

Why don't you go to Russia if you are such a fan? You can climb all the way up Putin's behind and it would be a lot easier. You are a pathetic disgrace of an American Citizen and you do not deserve the country that protects you.

Hey Rich, what do you say....Trump will get his 2% now and more...

Not enough. Germany should make up for the underpayments since the beginning of NATO. And not just you...
The only problem I see is that NATO is like LGBTs - a perversion without a mission. That's why it found Iraq and Afghanistan. And that is why NATO will never admit Russia.

Now you care about who liberated Poland?

Take all those yous and shove them up. I told you, moron, not to get personal.

gumishu
27 Feb 2022  #2,186

Why not?

I never said it shouldn't - as I said Poland, too, would love to see a regime change in Russia for a more democratic one - and then economic ties to Russia are all simply fair play

Bratwurst Boy
27 Feb 2022  #2,187

You should be grateful to the man for slapping you (editorial) out of your Western stupor.

In a way I am.....many are....all those who always feared something like that happening. Thing is Ukrainians are right now paying the price, that's why it's hard to be really grateful!

I tried so many times but without much success

We are just bitching on some internet forum....nobody listens to us anyhow....😏

Russian army is just demoralised, underfunded and incompetent,

let's hope they refuse to obey orders at some point - even though, as the British intelligence reports, the Russian leadership is willing to accepts as much as 50 thousand their own casualities

Bobko
27 Feb 2022  #2,190

Thing is Ukrainians are right now paying the price

Now that is actually interesting! In the middle of the great party about soaring German and Polish military investment I started to forget that today Ukraine became de facto cut off from access to the sea through which 80% of their exports leave the country. At the same time, starting today, close to a majority of Russian forces that were arranged on the border are becoming engaged in the fight (~60-70%). This means that the first two days of the war will seem tame in comparison to what is coming. Zelensky is not a fool or a coward for desperately pursuing negotiations.

A grouping 30-40k large is just now finishing its movement through swamps and marshes between Belarus border and Kiev. Forces from Donbass should link up with Kharkov grouping within a day or two. The Crimea group is closing the trap on Mariupol from the West, and on Odessa from the East.

Now the celebration of German and Polish strength can continue. This will make NATO an even better "defense only" alliance so Russia has nothing to worry about presumably.
