Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

Paulina
28 Feb 2022  #2551

I've just found out about something... My aunt (the nurse) has a friend who's a surgeon - he performed a surgery on my grandma... He's an Ukrainian... He has a wife and kids, he built a house here in Poland... But now he packed his bags and went back to Ukraine to fight for his country... My aunt was trying to talk him out of this, but he said that everything is going to be OK, that he's going to come back... I have tears in my eyes even though I don't know this man personally... Btw, before he decided to take up medicine he studied together with Volodymyr Zelensky... the President of Ukraine - another hero...

Героям слава! Слава Україні!

civilians murdered with Grad missiles are a sign of Russian frustration - unable to break Ukrainian defences they take it out on civilians

This is standard Russian MO.
They attack, fuk it up and then just murder innocent people.....the Russians never learn.....

I immediately thought of Soviet made jet fighters (about 20) and T-72 tanks.

Also, Poland still possesses Soviet made anti-aircraft systems which are perfectly known in Ukraine. They are obsolete today but can still be dangerous to Russ-Asian savages.

The PM discussed the deal with NATO and most probably they are going to send their own systems here.

Putin asked for a piece of paper that says we will not accept Ukraine's application to NATO

Even Putin defenders admitted that was an impossible demand and a ruse, yet you fall for it hook, line and sucker.... how does it feel to be a fool, fool?

You wouldn't have those tears in your eyes if NATO said they would not accept Ukraine.

that was an impossible demand

Can you rephrase it...What is "an impossible demand"?
What made that demand a ruse?

we will not accept Ukraine's application to NATO

Don`t be daft. Ukraine hadn`t planned to join NATO or the EU until 2014 when Russ-Asian savages took over Crimea and half Donbas. It was obvious that the takeover was only a prelude to sth more serious. Ukraine made a NATO choice to protect its independence. Simple.

And now they are even more determined. And one day they will be in NATO. Russ-Asian savages can`t win this one - they will be starved. How long will ordinary Russians last eating rat roast on Sunday????

They can't.
Whatever horrors happen in the short term.
In the long term, Russia will lose.

Russia is arranging close ties with China right now, I suppose the Chinese will be sending their rat supplies to their Russo-Asian brothers. hahaha

What's with these pictures of Putin meeting with advisors and foreign leaders at long tables where he's about a km away from everybody? Dude must be petrified of covid. Maybe he has gone around the bend and he is indeed paranoid. Weird.

Putin asked for a piece of paper that says we will not accept Ukraine's application to NATO and now the world is on the brink.

as far as I know Macron promised Putin that France would block any initiative to allow Ukraine in NATO - and Germans had similar stance - they all hoped this would be enough to prevent an armed confilict - and Putin made them think so - turns out he lied to them blatantly

You wouldn't have those tears in your eyes if NATO said they would not accept Ukraine.

What...? What does it have to do with anything?
I was touched by this man's patriotism and at the same I'm sad, because he can die over there... That's what normal people feel when they hear such stories - in case you don't understand that as a sociopath...

Can you rephrase it...What is "an impossible demand"?

An organization like NATO ceases to be effective the second it rules out a country forever. Saying "X will never be a member" is the same as saying "yeah, you can invade anytime you like"

What made that demand a ruse?

The fact that Putin spent a long time talking about the real reason he invaded. He thinks Ukraine is a phony, gay country that shouldn't exist (as the young folks might say).

He finds the very existence of an independent Ukraine unbearable.

The NATO business is stuff his stans in the west drug into the argument. The real Putinites are all about wiping the idea of 'Ukrainian" (and maybe the people) out.

Russia is arranging close ties with China right now

Don't overestimate that relationship.
The Chinese are much brighter and far more ruthless than The Russians.
They know that Russia is bad news right now and are already distancing themselves, at least publicly.
Because of the possible flack they may get, which will effect their sales to the west.
I believe they have just cancelled all coal imports from Russia.

I don't think Uke should be in NATO

I think recent events now make it inevitable.

Putin has created a situation where everything he didn't want to happen is now more likely to happen.
What a stupid old fool!

Natasha should not be allowed to run.

@gmishu

Minsk II was not respected and Azov was allowed to shell civilians in the Donbass while the guarantors of the agreement were silent. Well, those EU leaders are also to blame.

It is indicative that they voted on sanctions within 5 days and chose to be a party to the war, and here in 8 years they could not start talks on a new draft of a comprehensive agreement on collective security in Europe, which does not include UKR in NATO.

But no, the Minsk II agreements are being ignored, to UKR it is hinted that it will be admitted to NATO, chanting the mantra of "every country's right to choose", and ignoring the fact that they have Vladimir Putin in the neighborhood with one hand on the gas valve and another on the nuclear launch button.

If president Putin had pulled the trigger, it doesn't mean they had to incite him to it. I guess there is a middle ground between total apeasment and total ignorance of Russian interests. Plus, I think if they shook Putin a little (formally respect him as a statesman, give him the importance of form, that he has something to take home) I think everyone could have done much better, and before all UKR.

He finds the very existence of an independent Ukraine unbearable.

You mean just as the US found the existence of independent Southern states unbearable or some other kind of unbearable?

I was touched by this man's patriotism and at the same I'm sad,

Patriotism is greatly exaggerated. It's good stuff for books and weepy movies. Just ask those poor suckers who left their legs in Afghanistan or the parents of those who came back in a box.

I think recent events now make it inevitable.

Which gives Putin even more reason to ensure Ukraine is a Russian vassal and not independent. So, all this talk about letting them into NATO and EU isn't helpful, IMO.

Imagine France suddenly deciding that Belgium had no right to exist (especially since so many people there speak French and there's some common history) something like that....

So, all this talk about letting them into NATO and EU isn't helpful, IMO.

Despite the fact that they are asking for it?
So what do you think Ukrainians should do?
Just give up?
Is that what you would do if your country was invaded?

Minsk II was not respected

Right, it wasn`t respected by proRussian separatists who shelled Ukrainian positions every day.

Imagine France suddenly deciding that Belgium

Imagine France discovering that Belgium is now run by a hostile swamp that conspires with China to inflict pain on France.
Or...Imagine Cuba getting Soviet nukes...I wonder how the US would react to that...

France discovering that Belgium is now run by a hostile swamp that conspires with China to inflict pain on France.

That has no parallel with Ukraine except for deranged Putin worshippers in the West.

Putin thinks Ukraine (and maybe most Ukrainians) shouldn't exist. Not really much more to that.

Well, as a surgeon I'm sure he's going to be useful over there, so maybe he simply went there to help his people. Either way, a brave man.
