Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

Russia is just too small to win the war in Ukraine:

- Russian GDP is lower than Italy's or than combined GDP of Belgium and Netherlands; It's about 9% of the EU economy - an economic dwarf.

- it's an African economy - typical of African countries, based mainly on export of oil and gas; they are basically Africa of the northern hemisphere with 80% of Russian exports being natural resources and energy; Russian-African import, on the other hand, contains mainly industrial products. - an African country (also with African HIV levels)

- Russia spends about $62billion on armed forces - that's 8% (yes - 0,08) of what the USA spends. - a military dwarf.

- most Russians are relatively poor and Putin's megalomania is pushing them even deeper into poverty; - country of poor men.

- Russia's population (lower than that of Bangladesh) is ethnically diverse and facing a huge demographic crisis (among other things, because of the highest abortion rate in the world); - rapidly declining population.

- also, half of Russian international reserves are currently frozen and more will be frozen as a result of sanctions.

So, we have to ask ourselves a question - can such a tiny African-like country and an economic and military dwarf pose any real threat to Europe (not to mention the US)? The answer is obvious for anyone with anything even remotely resembling a brain.

They're hoping it will all go away and would rather see a large chunk of Ukraine in russian hands than see their mercantilist policies fail.


Basically what we see here from several people.


Remember, NATO is not only America. There are two other nuclear states, one of which has (like Poland) stepped up to help in this. Currently there are discussions about using warships to unblock the Black Sea ports and well as large quantities of armaments reaching Ukraine. Any danger is not from America getting cold feet, it is from appeasers within the French and German governments.

...and it's the same boring stuff all over again. I understand that their Putin's troll-factory wages are probably rather low, but they could come up with something new every now and then.


True. The probability of nuclear conflict, however, is quite low and if it comes to that then there will be no winners. And in such case, we Christians will go to heaven and ruSSian child rapists and the entire child murdering (the highest abortion rate in the world!) monstrosity will burn in hell.

I have a question for the economic experts here. In 2013, pre-Crimea annexation, Russia had a GDP of $2.3 trillion in nominal US dollars. A year and a half later, after the introduction of sanctions, and more importantly the collapse of oil prices and the consequent halving of the ruble, the Russian GDP became smaller by nearly a trillion dollars. Haters of Russia crowed that it lost half its economy within a year. People like me replied that the GDP in rubles had actually stayed relatively stable, but this was largely ignored. Indeed, it was hard to argue with the math. You took the Russian GDP in rubles, and divided it by the new exchange rate of 68 instead of 29 and you got what looked like an economy half the size. But was this an accurate reflection of reality? Did Russia really lose half its economy in a little over a year?

So the question is, what will you say now when the ruble has strengthened? Will you say, "holy sh!t Russia just added 20% of GDP in a year when it went to war and is now bigger than Italy"? I doubt it. You will say this is an imaginary exchange rate and currency fluctuations don't reflect the real damage done to an economy anyway. However, in 2015 it didn't seem to matter to people when the shoe was on the other foot and everyone had a convenient argument to cheer on a Russian economic collapse.

If measured in PPP terms, Russia's economy is almost twice the size of Italy and nearly the same size as Germany. Still small for a country of its size, but just saying.

All the twisting of the facts, juggling with numbers, playing with imaginary exchange rates etc. etc. won't change a simple fact that Russia has an African-like economy, based on exports of natural resources, rapidly declining population (most of which lives in relative poverty) and is a military and economic dwarf compared to either the USA or the EU.

say for example::lets say bus ticket for 20 miles journey in the uk cost 20 pounds this 20 pounds is added to gdp as service
same journey in Russia cost 3 pounds. only 3 quid is added. but from bus user perspective ,they received exactly the same service.quality of life in using buses services is same in this scenario

since few days am getting alot of videos ,showing ukra battalions refusing to fight,. and i mean its widespread. the pattern is that they all saying that they dont get enough heavy weapons and not being rotated ,,unable to perform tasks.

115 ukra brigade is placed in pre trial detention for desertion.
