Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

accused Russia of war crimes

Who cares? We know what Russia aka Mordor is like and their tradicional atrocities. They send crminals, low class people they see as usless, and the wrost scum from Russia into their military, their officers are callus scum in 90% - 99% of cases otherwsie they would be there. Results we can see anywhere Scummy Russian Military goes. There is no question about crimes, we can call it crimes or not, for Russian 'elite' thugish midset those are not crimes. Funny Velund son won't be found anywhere near the action, true with bobko and you as well. Your excuse you are too precius to be risked lol!

Attacking civillians on purpose

You are making a fool out of yourslefs here. They don't care. They just won't admit it becasue that would look bad and all here is about Russian propaganda.

Do you think for a moent they care about your words or opnion on the matter, that you can convince them somehow? Those Russia who care about it, know it already and know full well what their 'army' aka horde is capable off.

Those who post here - play you. If you like it so you can nag at them - good luck.

we support Ukraine as an attempt to suck up to the west

I mean Crow is a stupid person, so he can think like that,. I just wonder with Russians here, do they realy buy into it or just use it that phrase to diss Poland.

I'm would like to know that.

Kremlin-affiliated media like to push this as some kind of sekkrit Polish plan, but there's no sane reason to do it.

its somehow legitimate opinion/speculation to have. i am not saying its fact.
i would not be surprised if such idea of creating commonwealth with ukraine or territorial gains for poland was born in those kaczynskis heads
they are some delusional nationalists with pilsudski dream in their heads of intermarum or restoring second rzeczpospolita things.
dont see the problem of russians speculate on things.

was born in those kaczynskis heads

Nonsense. This might be personal for Kaczynski (and note it was him specifically who slammed Orban), he might buy into his brother's crash not being a crash and have a grudge against Vlad because of this. Or he's just pissed that Russians never gave the presidential plane wreckage back (BTW the 12th anniversary of that crash was recentlyt), obviously using it as some kind of bargaining chip or tool to generate more butthurt/internal conflict in Poland (the crash or rather the mythology/cult PiS has built around it is polarizing).

At best this is pure cold calculation meant to make Russia less of a threat. Weapons here are obvious, better they get used on foreign turf against their anyway most likely target, especially if they would otherwise get scrapped anyway. Goodwill with Ukraine isn't a bad thing to gain, if Ukraine falls Poland anyway drops on the Ukranian shitlist significantly as Russia for it's fresh actions will be the main target of revanchism and nationalists. If they get out of this in decent shape then Ukraine would be a key piece in any kind of future alternative political/military structure in case NATO could not be relied on for security. Granted decent shape implies there is enough time for Ukraine to not just rebuild but unfuck itself realising the bulk of its true potential, and losing more industry in the east is a key problem for this.

dont see the problem of russians speculate on things.

they can speculate all they want but that is not about it, they try to push something that would be good for Russia and no so good for Poland.

To regain those Polish lands that are in Ukrainien hands wouldn't help Poland at all.
Neither economically, nor strategically nor geopolitically.
What would be good for Poland in those terms it would be Królewiec area and Brześć with Grodno up to Baranowicze. Is Putin able to make such concession? I doubt it.

jon357
27 May 2022  #3245

Królewiec area

That would be good for Lithuania to have after the orcs are destroyed.

Brześć with Grodno up to Baranowicze

Best in Belarus. Poland's current territory is settled and is advantageous.

Is Putin able to make such concession

The first would only happen in an conflict more devastating than this. The second is not his to make.

Cojestdocholery

That would be good for Lithuania to have after the orcs are destroyed.

You know what? Give Gibraltar to Spain and Malivny to Argentina if you want. From Królewiec bugger off.

Best in Belarus. P

Nope, best in Poland. Unless Belorus free itself from Russia and some lame post-soviet 'elite'.

The first would only happen in an conflict more devastating than this.

If that would happen I doubt he would be still around or able to make any decisions.

So far it looks like Putin's daughter is first in line.

Its every third post and its planned as a response to stupidity. When you at some point in the future mistakenly say anything intelligent I will surely complement you. The intelligent comment though is highly unlikely from you or anyone in the little Russian troll group. So, take your Tonka toys and go play with the other children while the adults have an intelligent conversation.

Given all the use of shelling it is pretty obvious that Russia is running low on their missile stockpile, couple this with the obvious deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure, Russia is just trying to flatten the earth and leave these areas uninhabitable. All the while, Russia and Russians are clearly not giving enough thought to what happens when these sanctions are in place for years. They arent thinking about what happens when all their assets are not just frozen but they are seized. This seizure will happen and my bet is it will happen before the end of the year. With the English footbaIl club being sold and Abramovich not getting any of the proceeds, this will become a popular trend in the near future to pay for the defense and rebuilding of Ukraine.

How nice would that be to have all the seized assets, sold to pay for missiles to kill Russians?!?!?! Poetic.

I don't think so, Putin has kept his family pretty much hidden. I don't think they even live in Russia anymore. I'd think it would be one of the newer top figures like Belousov or Meshustin unless an "old timer" like Medvedev or Peskov is brought in. It's ultimately up to the top 40 or so oligarchs + Putin decide to put in power. Apparently he's pretty sick, people say it's a sort of blood cancer or leukemia or something like that. If you look at photos from him now versus even a year ago he looks way worse, quite sickly. He's 70 and doesn't have much time left. Eastern European men on average tend not to live as long as those in the west i.e. France, UK, Italy, or even in Asia.

I highly doubt it's going to be Shoigu though

Russia moves 50 year old T-62 tanks into the field. LMFAO

Perhaps the effectiveness is not very high. However, it is still armor, and it still shoots. It's still better than a soldier with a rifle.

More importantly - whether you want to or not - you have to destroy it, otherwise you risk getting hit by it. By firing on it, with a Javelin, or an NLAW, or whatever else - you risk exposing your position, and the enemy fire arriving on it will be that much more accurate.

Remember, the war has moved on from the forest of northern Ukraine, to the steppes of the south and east. Russians are no longer moving along a forest highway in columns, where you can torch them from the treeline. More often than not, when Ukrainian soldiers meet Russians now it is in a combat disposition on march, rather than in a transport column. There is nowhere to hide in the praries for your sneaky javelin attacks. Shooting at a tank in the flatlands is inviting your own rapid death.

Bottom line: (1) the tank is old, but Ukraine doesn't even have these (2) it moves (3) it shoots, maybe not so accurately, not so far, but it shoots (4) It may be easier to destroy, but as a Ukrainian soldier would you feel better knowing it took the Russians 10 T-62s instead of 1 T-90 to roll over your position?

Also, reports so far indicate that it is rear and LDNR forces that are being equipped with T-62s, and the intent is to use them as static emplacements along the possible axes of a Ukrainian counter-attack. As a dug-in bunker, a T-62 is a fine weapon.

Alien
27 May 2022  #3252

The question is how many T62 they have? 1000 or 100, more or less than that?

@Alien

Apparently 15,000 in storage. No one can say how much of that is usable. Thousands upon thousands are of the first mod, which are not all that great. Those produced towards the end of the production run in the mid 1970s, and those that were upgraded during the Afghan War in the 1980s (where they were preferred to the T-72 and T-64), are those that are likely being moved to Ukraine now.

With this amount, these old tanks could decide the outcome of the war.

Cojestdocholery

It will be decisided in the field. Like in most wars.

Bobko
27 May 2022  #3258

@Cojestdocholery

Yes, but Ukrainians have ugly habit of retreating to fortified positions inside cities. In the field, our army of 200k is wiping the floor with their 700k army.

This, even though Ukraine received 30% of the Soviet military industrial complex, and 40% of its army in 1991. Russia was in its majority full of rusted rear cadre divisions. So its not as one-sided a fight as it may seem. It's just that corrupt Ukrainian generals were much more skilled at selling T-72s, SU-24s, and Mil-24s to African warlords than we were throughout the 1990s.

jon357
27 May 2022  #3259

And russians have an even uglier habit of invading neighbouring countries. Like Ukraine.

now picking his predecessor.

Successor, not predecessor (who was Jelcyn)

His daughter (Katerina Tichanowa) wouldn't be a successor in terms of power, but is likely to be placed as the head of his political 'party' more as a figurehead and symbol of continuity and stability.

Patrushev is the likely immediate successor on paper but he has no charisma and won't be able to enforce unpopular ideas...

The fighting to succeed him in terms of power for sure has surely started and the victor (not Szojgu, old and sick and not Russian) will probably be a surprise. Experts will be able analyze how it happened but won't be able to predict things.

Yorkshire has produced its own fair share of butchers.

Happen it has, back in the day. Start a thread about it if you want.

Yet russia has not learned and is russia the aggressor in a bloody war of its own making.

Ukraine is defending itself, how've much russia hates that. They are not the invader.

OMG, how much would PF love it if Russia elected a Mongol (he's half Tuvan, a type of Mongol you could say) as president? Pawian and Gefreiter's vision would be complete.

Shoigu's personal idol, in his own words, is Roman von Ungern-Sternberg. You should read about this guy, and Hollywood should definitely make a movie about him. A German, in Russian service, who fought alongside Mongolians to win their independence from China. Almost single-handedly created modern Mongolia.

Shoigu's only hero is Putin - we have seen him toadying to Putin on live TV like a school kid. Like the rest of these pathetic specimens he wets his pants whenever Putin raised his voice

As for Ukraine talking to Putin then why ? He is a murderer and a war criminal and can not leave Russian soil

Easy to destroy with modern equipment. Will just be another easy bake Orc oven. The Russian army is pathetic.

Meanwhile, default on Russian bond payments today, and more to come next month. But you know, the Russian economy is fine and there is nothing to see. I mean other than Russia requiring removal of sanctions for grain transportation. Yep, nothing to see here, everything is fine. These demands mean nothing and we are not panicking. Oh and those Russian soldiers who are refusing to fight and resigning, nothing to see there either. Move along, free vodka on the left, and $hit sandwiches on the right.

jon357

The Russians should, and it would suit Lithuania well. Or make it east prussia again.

And despite the rouble's artificial value, it seems that prices of imported items is rocketing in russia...

Gentlemen, not everything is going according to the plan: Russians almost closed the encirclement of Siewierodonieck and Lisiczańsk. Luckily, the USA promised to deliver M270 MLRS rocket launcher systems to Ukraine - they have 483km range, so it can be a game changer. It would also be nice if Germany finally got their finger out and delivered some Leopards to our Ukrainian friends and allies. Just saying.

Meanwhile Poland ordered 500 M142 HIMARS launchers...

historia.org.pl/2022/05/26/polska-kupi-500-wyrzutni-m142-himars

... I think they should be placed near Województwo Królewieckie (currently under Russian occupation), in case situation demands that Wojsko Polskie conducts a pre-emptive strike against occupying forces there.

it would suit Lithuania well. Or make it east prussia again.

No. Lithuania is too small to cope with such sizeable Russian minority compared to their population and Germans have to deal with depopulation of even former DDR lands, so they can forget settling lands further east. The only historically and morally logical solution, in accordance with historic justice, is the return of our old fiefdom of Prusy Książęce under the wings of Rzeczpospolita. Królewiec was, after all, the leading centre of Polish printing industry in the 16th century (in the years 1543 - 1552 more books in the Polish language were printed in Królewiec than in the entire Rzeczpospolita).

Yes, as Crow likes to say - all is well. We are moving, with slight complications but still, towards a new more just and more Polish order of things.
