Whether it was a good idea to turn off the comment sections - I don't know. I personally missed it - especially at the beginning. I can only imagine all those Polish comments about Putin, Russian army, etc. :))) Comment sections can be fun ;)

On the other hand, Russian trolls spreading disinformation and fake news is a real phenomenon.

You can always go to the Polish side of Facebook then - plenty of comments there :) I'm guessing it's the same on Twitter.

I wouldn't put too much weight to comment sections under Polish articles though, to be honest... I rarely read them, usually just scan a few first comments. Sometimes I read more if I'm interested in some issue, but who would read all those hundreds or thousands of comments... Especially that people often write there to vent, it seems

The Daily Telegraph BTL comments section is quite good about the russian invasion of Ukraine. It's subscribers only so that helps to keep the quality. There are a few fairly obvious paid Kremlin trolls there however they're called out. There are also a few airchair generals but there are ex (and perhaps not so ex) senior military there who know what they're talking about. A few very senior politicians too, often using a near pseudonym.

Meanwhile, there's street bu street fighting in Severodonetsk. As long as it bogs the orcs down, it is worth it.

What people? Russian trolls? Konfederacja voters? :) From what I've noticed those are the only people in the Polish part of Facebook who support Russian version of events or are, at least, anti-Ukrainian.

The tsunami of orc propaganda is shocking at the moment. Fortunately it isn't very effective; in fact some is extremely crass. It's quite obvious if you look at certain sites that they have a daily troll script. You can learn a lot about orcland by analysing that.

I noticed some patterns in Facebook comments myself... For example, whenever someone was visiting Kyiv after the Russians withdrew from besieging the capital, whether it was some president or Angelina Jolie, such comments would appear: "What kind of war is that if people just drop by there like that? I have a feeling they're lying to us and it's some fake "war"!" Maybe such moronic comments wouldn't be that surprising in case of people from other parts of the world, who aren't getting too much information, but I've seen such comments also written by Poles. And you can't possibly live in Poland and not know that Kyiv isn't besieged anymore o_O Bizarre...

Secondly - what does it matter? lol Well, yeah, it is possible that, for example, those were gamers who played that game that noticed it. Are you a gamer and you took it personally or sth? ;D

Maybe it does work in places like Twitter and Facebook (social media) where you can comment directly on some profiles of journalists. But I really doubt that journalists are reading all those comments under articles on news sites... There's just too much crap over there.

I guess you can always write an e-mail to a newspaper to inform about such stuff.

PT-91 will probably go to Ukr, since the plan is to get rid off T-72 variants, now that we got rid of every vanilla T-72s that could potentially be upgraded to PT-91 standard.

And considering that, for some reason, procuring 125mm ammo was always a giant fu*cking headache for Polish Army, getting rid of this type of tank right now might turn out to be "killing two birds with one stone" type of situation.

IIRC we'll also retire Leopards when we have a big enough number of K2 tanks. Otherwise Polish army will have to deal with 4 kinds of tanks in the future: Abrams, Leopards, K2 and PT-91, which is ridiculous.
