Russian-German cooperation is a dream of a millennium

Was the dream

.now all the germans agree they were wrong in misunderstanding your mutated aggressive mongol genes. Ostpolik is dead as is trying to change your ****** up culture through trade. enjoy the guardian long read.the tragedy is from usa to poland to everyone else, we warned them what u ruski ***** were up too for 20years..

Germany has been forced to admit it was a terrible mistake to become so dependent on Russian oil and gas. So why did it happen?

Dream on...

The dream behind the decades of "Wandel durch Handel" !

(A nightmare for the rest of Europe though I fear, Bobko)

So why did it happen?

As Bobko said....they have all the resources, the wide lands....we have the industry/technology, the people.....together a match made in heaven (or hell...)

@Bratwurst Boy, definitely hell for anyone in between Germany and Russia as it turned out more than once...

Russian-German cooperation is a dream of a millennium

Sadly, that will remain a dream now for the forseeable future, Putin's actions destroyed over night what has been build for 5 decades.

So why did it happen?

Because we assumed that the Russians had a rational cost-benefit calculation. Trading with us (and the rest of Europe) was economically most beneficial, risking this through war would be something nobody who had the best interest of his country at heart would do. Previous Russian leaders were that rational, Putin sadly is not. Now both sides pay the price for it.

definitely hell for anyone in between Germany

It did in 1939 but otherwise those agreements were often beneficial for Europe. We beat Napoleon and had a pretty peaceful 19th century thanks to that. Until Wilhelm blew it. Ostpolitik was later a mayor factor in the peaceful dissolution of the Soviet Empire and gave us time in the 90s to consolidate.

The war in Ukraine is a tragedy. First and foremost for Ukraine, then Russia but also the rest of Europe. Because we are now forced to invest ressources that are needed elsewhere (e.g. fighting climate change) in order to deter Russia.

The leadership always sucked somehow....in one place or the other.....

As I already wrote - not for anyone in between Germany and Russia. Before 1939 there were also partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Somehow every time Germany and Russia "cooperate" the lands in between get f*cked eventually...

those agreements were often beneficial for Europe.

Again, you mix beneficial for Germany with beneficial for Europe. It is not one and the same.

Russian-German cooperation is a dream of a millennium.

Well, you were almost there but F up! Going for secial operation and getting war. What is with Russian FSB? You used to suck at anything else but spies. Was happened?

The Soviet Union (whose successor state is Russia) killed at least 3 million Ukrainians through a planned famine (they also killed a bunch of Russians but Russians don't care when the Russian government kills them, so.... I don't either)

Now Putin is trying to revive the Soviet Union including planned famines!

How many people will Russia kill this time?

Tacitus
5 Jun 2022  #4179

not for anyone in between Germany and Russia.

Those people between got many decades of peace in return. That is more than most places could offer during those times. The 19th century in Europe was remarkeably peaceful and the good understanding between Russia and Prussia was crucial for this.

Paulina
5 Jun 2022  #4180

@Tacitus

Those people between got many decades of peace in return.

No, they didn't. 200 000 of Polish men conscripted to the Russian army somehow didn't get to experience that "peace" you're talking about.

The 19th century in Europe was remarkeably peaceful and the good understanding between Russia and Prussia was crucial for this.

Why do we always have to pay for "your peace"?

"We shouldn't be humiliating Russia

Yeah, but that is bad enough.
Macron is a pathetic self centred wimp and needs to be ignored by the international community.

You are now Russian retard number one after saying Russians have freedom of speech

I am in complete agreement.

Putin's actions destroyed over night what has been build for 5 decades

Can't disagree here......

. Somehow every time Germany and Russia "cooperate" the lands in between get f*cked eventually..

Never a truer word spoken.

@Bobko, we had French lessons at high school, it's a pretty language :) You'd survive :)) Surely, that would be a small price to pay for avoiding all the horrors of World Wars, communism and Holocaust. Wouldn't you agree? :)

Please stick to the topic of the thread

@Bobko
289,000 Russian soldiers KIA, and 600,000 total including civilians? Those are big numbers. At todays Russian invasion rate, Putin will kill 300,000 Russian soldiers on his own in 3 years if not sooner. Russian's really know how to die that's for sure, one could say Russian's are the world leaders in dying and they deserve a lifetime achievement award for dying. But of course that is somewhat contradictory.

While all the Putin coxuckers have been typing about justifications, and how great the war is going, more Orc's are heading to the portable ovens that the Kremlin calls "tanks". Russia took massive losses in men and equipment Sunday trying to territory in Severodonetsk and Sloviansk. And Lavrov can not get to Serbia due to closed airspace for his talks in Belgrade. Putin makes more threats to hit more places in Ukraine with missiles out of anger toward the west giving Ukraine long range weapons? Poor little Putin, lashing out like a little child who used to get his way at home, but when he leaves home he finds people just dont like him and will push back. Eventually every POS like Putin ends up dead. Just a matter of time. Happy gulag biatches!

Hell for the Anglos, masters of pitting nations against each other for profit and the current owners of the Polish "neo-szlachta".

If you honestly believe that "Anglos" or anyone else has to pit any nation against Russia then I feel sorry for you. Russia is doing it on its own. Your country seems to be unable to learn from it's own mistakes. You just keep repeating it over and over again.

A pledge of prosperity for the continent

On the contrary, as we can see. All you bring is war, death, destruction, misery, fear and slavery.

Poor Poland. Again between the lips of the vise, azzhole hurts, and the smell of the English master's cologne is wafting. ;)

Poland has no masters and we're exactly where we want to be, so don't you worry about us :) Better worry about your own жопа, reservist lol ;)))

Pledge of prosperity ? Yes, the people of Donetsk and the other tinpot republic have been enjoying 24 hour Sushi Bars for 8 years and now want to build some in the rest of Ukraine ?

Poland has no masters

What? ;)

Yes, it is a tiny bit more sovereign than many other EU limitrophes, at least can argue about how their own courts should work. ;) But, traditionally, elites is wholly owned by not_so_gentlemans from other side of the strait and their cousins. ;)

Try to do something that is very profitable for Polish population but not liked by masters. ;)

It will be a fashionable trend now to undermine the European Union, the British elites need their zone of influence and the currency zone of the pound after possible EU collapse, otherwise they are out of not only the highest, but also from the first league of world politics. And ever-obeying Poland could be used as a "torpedo" to create a breach in the EU in a right moment. Just as Ukraine is now being used as a "torpedo" against Russia. Just don't forget that there are no reusable torpedoes... ;)

Better worry about your own жопа, reservist lol ;)))

Don't worry about my not so young жопа. Judging by the fact that the Malyshev plant in Kharkov is Kalibrated with all thoroughness, new engines and repair kits to reassemble worn-out ones for the T-64 will not be available in large numbers for both Ukraine or Russia in the near future. ;) There is lots of trophy ukrainian T-64 with very advanced modifications to keep working with current stock. And I will hardly be retrained on T-62M, a bit too old to spend few months in the training camps. ;) So...

PS: A friend of mine told me that T-62M that come to front is equipped with additional roof protection to decrease chances that roof-hitting misiles like Javelin will be succesful. Also plenty of factory made BMP-2 protection augmenting kits is come there.

I think you are giving Boris too much credit. At the moment he's throwing everything at the wall, hoping something will stick. However, there is really no deeper strategy to his actions than to just preserve his grip on power for a few more weeks, or months. That's really all that defines him as a politician, and is why nobody should really worry about Boris accomplishing anything.

I think this is why Germany and France are largely ignoring the strange proposals that come out of his office almost weekly at this point. Usually they would be irritated that the UK is proposing an alliance structure that is parallel to the EU (Boris's little Intermarium plan), and would thus have an erosive effect on the Union itself. However, because they are dealing with Boris, and because they understand that even Poland and Ukraine are not stupid enough to trade the EU for a dying UK - they are just content to sit back and watch him embarrass himself.

This week, likely, there will be a vote of no confidence to Boris as PM, because enough rebel Tory votes have been gathered. Some idiot ministers and MPs are still saying it's wrong to remove him while the war in Ukraine continues, but it seems they are now in a minority.

The problem is that the person most likely to replace Boris, Jeremy Hunt, is potentially even more incompetent than BJ. I know this sounds hard to believe... but it seems to be the case.

Bottom line: Anglos used to be the masters at playing countries off each other and coming out dry. Now they're just sort of bouncing around, like a plastic bag in the wind - when their attention does become focused briefly, it's on harassing French fishermen or making life difficult for Irish business owners.

additional roof protection to decrease chances that roof-hitting misiles like Javelin will be succesful.

Today I read an interview of a young tank driver-mechanic, and he was saying that his crew decided to remove the barbecue grill. He was saying it makes it too difficult to use the machine gun, too slow to get out in case of a fire, and finally difficult to move things in and out of the tank. At the same time, I have seen photos where crews even put sandbags and different fabric/rubber constructions on this grill. So I don't know what to make of these grills.

Also saw photos of T-80BV with new factory-installed bbq grill that I've never seen before.

It's not Boris who is helping a country under invasion; its the UK. And right now, Putler and his orcs are seething angry. Bullies always are when somebody stands up to them.

We can expect all sorts of crap from russian trolls. Their outrage is palpable in this thread. They don't like it up 'em.

Meanwhile, not one useful thing promised by germany has actually been delivered. At least we have Boris Johnson, Ben Wallace and Tony Radakin on the side of freedom and justice.

In humorous news, the aging ghoul Lavrov was supposed to visit Serbia, but Bulgaria, Macedonia and Montenegro closed their airspace to him.... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Oh well, his loss is the gain of sane Serbs (probably a minority but they need all the help they can get....)

I will tell you what to make of those new barbecue grills.

They are useless zlom and will not save any lives. The metal is the thin kind that in Poland we might use for building a chicken coop (chickens are a forgotten luxury in most of Russia - it's a small flightless bird that tastes good with Italian olives or a nice fresh imported Belgian beer)

But it doesn't matter - because you have commie rulers and for them it is more important tompretend to do something useful rather than to actually do anything effective (which costs money, dedication and ingenuity - all in short supply in a kleptocracy)

jon357
6 Jun 2022  #4194

were our enemy which opressed us, in our resistance to Napoleon we

Us too, to an extent. Napoleon, like Putler, ultimately failed in everything except uniting people against him and creating new nations like Belgium that wanted nothing to do with the order he dreamt of.

Germany of course was a wonderful patchwork of states then, despite the empire building started by Frederick years before. Perhaps that is the way of the future.

Meanwhile, Ukraine have had a very good weekend at war, albeit not so good in football. And more heavy arms are on their way.

.but I would miss it!

I would too for all it's worth

Velund
6 Jun 2022  #4196

The metal is the thin

Not so thin to be unable to activate detonator. And if you understand how cummulative ordnance work, extra space between armor and charge decrease penetration capability drastically. There is pretty narrow "focus" distance range at which charge have max. penetration. So, grill (spacer) and active armor on the roof under it is quite a good thing. Bags with stones on grill, even thin looking - even better, dissipating more energy.

Bobko
6 Jun 2022  #4197

@Velund

It's good that our industry has access to plenty of Javelins for testing exactly what the focal length is and at what distance the grills must then be installed.

Closer to the topic, the official figures for child casualties have been released.

262 children killed
467 children injured

This figure does not include the number of children raped.

Russia needs a population of at least 400 million

good luck with that, heh

THE WEST is often willfully blind to the suffering of people in faraway conflicts - many, more brutal than what we have seen in Ukraine.

you have an interesting point of view - which shrivels down when you look at what Russia did to Mariupol and its population

the Polish "neo-szlachta"

Come again! What is that 'neo-szlachta' Rosjanin? You are all over the place here, I guess you are Russian patriot. So tell me what is good in Russia?

Again between the lips of the vise, azzhole hurts

Oh (vy pravilny rosjanin, lubimu vaszu tiemu żopa, znaczit rosjanin eto żopnik) I'm not interested in your homesexual dreams about azzhole or bottums. Keep it to yourself.

What? ;)

You keep out of my country affairs. Worry about your Muscoviet lands. It is not your business what Poland is and what isn't. It is for us Poles to descide. Keep your pig snout from burging in into your neighbors. Ukrainian are already are giving you a good trashing to send you back into your pigsty you call Russia.

Mask is off, as you can see you can't have civlized debate with a Russian.

They have a very low treshold and then start talk about asses/bums theme and they start with their chauvinistic imperialist nosense.
