Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

Velund

All that's needed from Russians is to get out of Ukraine (all of it).

Who needed it? The opinions of my relatives in eastern Ukraine are divided, but not everyone is happy to see the Westerners in power, who are remaking the land where they were not welcome, considering themselves to be the pans and the local population as bydlo.

This is not quite a polish business, of course.

I have not heard of this problem with Javelin before.

Javelin command unit batteries, to be more precise. NLAWs have problem with missiles itself. Long storage and no provisions to test until last moment is not so good thing. ;)

As usual a lie.

Perhaps a false confession out of a scared boy, but oddly specific.

Perhaps a false confession

People say anything under torture, if it was said at all.

russian propaganda and fake news are so common that anything coming from there has to be assumed to be untrue.

The NLAW's have proved a godsend and have a 90% success rate. And they've still got almost 1500 left with more to come.

This proves that Russia does not want to create unpleasant situations to Poland and Visegrad countries.

Lavrov's visit canceled? Russia's MFA: "Our diplomacy has not mastered teleportation"

Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro had closed their airspace to the plane

If Russia chosen to ask Poland and Visegrad countries, it would be allowed or if refused, it would undermine credibility of Poland`s state from within, by greatly upsetting strong pro-Serbian lobby in Poland. Thing that its about visit of Russians FM to Serbia would be in this case ignored. In focus would be only fact that Poland blocking intention of Serbia to do something, in this case, to receive visit. There would be violent demonstrations in Poland by patriots of Poland if they just get impression of Poland being anti-Serbian. It would cause instability in Poland and by this example, Russia shows its not her intention.

If you ask me, its even sign to Poland. Sign of respect and tolerance of Poland`s interests.

Few days ago mayor of Kyiv Klitschko spat on Serbia. The next day he apologized. Not even now, not even in this Ukraine, you can`t spit on Serbs.

One of these days Poland would start to show sympathies for Russia's policy.

EU and NATO are stupid and makes serious mistakes.

Apart from being born in Poland The answer to all of those questions is yes. In addition to which I live here, have Polish kids, pay tax, pay ZUS,, employ Polish people, have significant amounts invested in Polish government bonds, all the things that make me a true citizen of this country.

And like 99% of the people in Poland I fully realize that sacrifices are needed to help our friends and neighbors in Ukraine.

I can live with higher gas prices and some refugees, what I can't live with is the insecurity of knowing that a vile fascist bully in the country next-door might send over his drunk rapist on me at any time.

Chopin lived most of his life in France he's not really Polish,

You lived most of your life in The States. So you are not really Polish.
Do you really not see your hypocrisy?

@Atch

Some good points Atch.
Adrian needs to accept that he is not a true Pole.
But, as you say, just part of the diaspora, as I am.

Please stick to the topic of this thread.

I actually made a long edit that didn't work (a painfully slow connection here tonight) about the two countries in Europe who are supporting Ukraine the most and how several posters here (you're one, Lenka's another and I'd count myself too in the opposite direction to Lenka) are deeply connected to both countries. Atch too since part of ireland's still in the UK and it's a country of 5 million next to a country of 60 million therefore the economies are close, as are defence matters.

The progress and outcome of this war affects all of us. The food and fuel aspects are shared and geopolitically within Europe, its clear that links and shared values between Poland and the UK are strengthening as a result of our commitment to freedom and also the contrast between our behaviour and other major European states.

After Bucha I simply have no idea how any democratic leader could talk directly to a war criminal.

The only contact Macron should ever have with Putin is when he is giving evidence at The Hague

jon357
6 Jun 2022  #4242

Macron

Micron is a peacock and Germany can't cope with the loss of trade with russia and economic hegemony in central euros that this war is bringing.

They're rather russia had a quick victory, hence not actually delivering and of the heavy weapons they reluctantly promised and even supplying arms to Russia after the invasion started.

Italy has been very mixed about it too. Russia has a lot of support there.

It's street to street fighting in Severodonetsk now. It shows how the resolve of Ukrainians to defend their home is stringer than terrified orc conscripts being sent to be mown down

Guys, relax. Do you know the game good vs bad cop? That`s what the West is playing with RuSSists. Macron and his like are the good cops, Johnson and others are the bad ones. And Russists are stupified and don`t know what to do. :):)

As Crow says, everything is to the plan.

Miloslaw

@pawian

I disagree.
Johnson is Ukraine's genuine ally.
Macron only cares about himself.
A pathetic peacock.

pawian
6 Jun 2022  #4246

Exactly. But still they are playing the game. Consciously or not - it doesn`t matter. RuSSists don`t know what to do - if they strike too hard, they will lose good cops` support. Simple.

BTW, count the Pope as a neutral cop. But he also might turn anti RuSSist if necessary. :)

I am not convinced about your good cop/bad cop theory.
Johnson and Macron hate each other, so if you are right it is not organised or planned. It just happened the way.

As for the Pope, I very much doubt that he will have any influence either way.

Who cares what the Pope, Macron, or Boris want? Russia only looks to Belgrade and Ulan-Baatar for guidance. Right now, Serbia is saying - "Smash those Banderist b!tches!". As obedient younger brother, we do as we are told.

Latvia bans TV from Russia effective June 9th until Russia is out of Ukraine....

It also is allowing the independent Russian language tv station 'Rain' to operate from LAtvia.

The mental health of ethnic Russians in Latvia expected to slowly improve once deprived of contact with Solovev and Simonyan (inter alie)

Hero of Ukraine, Boris Johnson - survives for at least another year (if Parliamentary rules are not amended). The Ukrainian press - rejoices. The comment section under the relevant article on the country's main newspaper's site is full of "God Save the Queens". Catastrophe, for now, has been averted.

Here's a link that Maf, Milo, and Jon can pleasure themselves to, but will need Google Translate:

In the meantime, sentiments in Britain itself are not as rosy as they are in Kiev:

200 40x46mm RGP-40 revolver grenade launchers were ordered and produced for the Polish army. However, since 2016 they have been kept in storage. Now they appear in Ukraine. Probably all 200.

Something much more anticipated, from Poland, has been sighted recently. T-72M1. I know you will not press a telegram link to the video, so you will have to be content with some screenshots I made. Today I am in a good mood.

The soldier recording is sitting on a Dutch YPR-765 (AIFV).

@pawian

News of supply and appearance on the battlefield are two different things. Ukrainian logistics at this time are screwed, so you may be surprised at the amount of time it takes to move something from point A to point B. Rail substations, tunnels, bridges, refineries, and fuel storage sites all have been bombed. When new routes are used to funnel Western weapons to the front, those items of infrastructure are targeted. The West confidently predicted on week two of the war that we have run out of cruise missiles, and now we are in month 4 and we continue to find them. At this point we fired three times the number of missiles that the United States had used in the invasion of Iraq (largest use prior to now).

Especially funny, logistically, is what happens when it needs to go in reverse direction. Any heavy weapon requires maintenance and repair. For Ukraine it is very difficult to establish any kind of reliable supply of parts and security for her repair depots. It is not possible to fix anything consistently in Ukraine, because Russia immediately targets those facilities with cruise missiles as soon as they are identified. This means that the equipment likely has to find its way back West if it's to be repaired. Another huge pain in the ass. Similar to problem with training facilities. Western training programs take too long (war might be over), while it's not possible to train in Ukraine because Russians target the training sites.

The most serious logistical problems are of course the logistical problems of the "last mile", where Russian air superiority makes things especially unpleasant.

I see cholera is breaking out in Mariupol - pitiful for the innocent inhabitants who were perfectly ok in January. The true benefit of Russian rule

jon357
7 Jun 2022  #4258

unadulterated

It makes no difference: Boris Johnson is good for peace since he stands up to the enemy; and of course any successor is likely to be as resolute.

And the support for Ukraine keeps flowing in.

All the orcs have to do is stay within your own country and accept the inevitable humiliation.

Now buzz off and drink some Novichok.

Russia is not a country, it's not a culture... it's a pestilence that brings nothing but misery (why they keep invading neighbors they know other countries aren't as miserable as they are and it tears them up inside....

Funny the American service men I spoke to this morning in Krakow, 82 Airborne assisting in getting supplies into Ukraine are saying that once equipment arrives in Poland turn around time to get it to the front lines in not more than 72 hours. Logistics and supply chain management designed by the US and given to Ukraine. These are actual troops involved and not some propaganda BS from either side.

See when you have Americans, British, and other forces from the countries supplying the weapons actually training people using them and repairing them there really isn't much of a problem. Spare parts are no problem either. And if you think traditional supply chain routes are all that are being used, then you are really very dumb. Now, go get yourself a bottle of the latest soviet $hit vodka and have your breakfast and let the adults talk. Happy gulag biatches!
