@Joker
Exactly. But the people here don't want to admit it. I don't know why so many people here struggle with accepting reality when it doesn't fit their agenda. Whether one prefers CNN or Fox for news, the fact remains that Americans stopped caring about the Ukraine war and it's not talking about anymore in the media like it was back in February/March when it first started.
The only mention of Ukraine in the media is in relation to how it's affecting the American economy. People want it to end, definitely don't want more money to be sent there, and care much more about how much they're going to spend filling up their gas tank than what's going on in Ukraine.Hell, even Ukrainians admitted that Americans care more about the Johnny Depp trial than the Ukraine war LOLI'm sure it's different in Poland since it's right next door, but the fact is Americans have moved on and don't care anymore.
Why do you think America has been conducting all those wars all over the globe?
Oil and spreading influence. In the case of Ukraine, America has little to gain for a hell of a lot of money. At best, America will prop up Ukraine if it's sovereignty is totally threatened. But they can care less whether Ukraine regains the 20% they lost to Russia or not and in fact many are calling for them to cede this territory so the war can end.
And like I said, regardless if it's $1 or $100 billion, Americans and increasingly politicians are calling for that money to remain here on account of the problems experienced stateside that weren't nearly as bad as in February/March. It's a stupid argument saying "oh it's not that much." I'm sure most people here could afford to donate $1,000 to Ukraine without it affecting their livelihood yet I highly doubt anyone would. No, instead they're going to keep it in their savings or spend it on something needed rather than just give it away, especially when their livelihood is diminished due to stagflation.
Also, a pocket doesn't necessarily mean encirclement, it means that a group is cut off which the few remaining Ukrainians are and even admit that bridges are blown with no way out, communication is very challenging, etc.
Just as with Mariupol, there were also a few pockets of resistance when the city was for all intensive purposes captured and occupied by Russia.
Severodonetsk is done - even Zydensky is calling them to surrender since their resistance is useless.The Russians took it, Ukrainians launched a counterattacked that failed, and now Russians control 80% and are doing a mop up. No different than how Mariupol was taken.news.sky.com/story/ukraine-war-russia-tells-forces-in-severodonetsk-to-end-their-senseless-resistance-and-surrender-this-morning-12634178

You make it clear in your idiotic comments.
The ones that you have absolutely no counter for, that you cannot disprove let alone with any sources?Just because you don't want to admit the reality that people stopped caring about Ukraine, they're not going to get the arms they want, have ran through the supplies they have and are nearly out of artillery, and are gradually losing more and more territory as the weeks go on doesn't mean it's not happening.
FYI - commissioned officers generally don't socialize with enlisted ranks.
They'll be in Poland for a while and never in Ukraine, seeing as how NATO said there's no way they're going to enforce a no-fly zone or put troops in Ukraine. I guess the Ukrainians will have to settle for the 4 whole HIMARs systems they were given LOLBut while you are there ask them if Americans still care about the Ukraine war. If they're being honest they'll tell you no, that they only care about it as it relates to consumer spending. Ask them about media coverage about the war today versus February/March. If they're being honest they'll tell you it went from being talked about nonstop, to shorter and shorter segments, to now only talking about it as a something that needs to end so the cost of goods can come down.
As of May 24, imports to Russia declined by 89%....
Sanctions have failed, baby!!!!!
Uhh yea, lol...decreased imports means higher GDP - basic GDP formula and a higher trade surplus. A country importing less goods isn't bad for them, it's bad for the countries that were previously exporting those goods, causing a drop in their GDP. This is macroeconomics 101 lol....

Yeah thanks to the decline in imports and Russian exports they're enjoying a record trade surplus, so yes, sanctions have failed - you're absolutely right.
As far as the consumer side, Russia has to find substitute goods for those imports, which is a good thing since they'll have to produce those goods domestically.

Even The Guardian admits that sanctions have done little to stop Russia and only ended up hurting western consumers. At best, it'll make Russia's GDP decline by 7-8%, meanwhile Ukraine's GDP is expected to decline 35-50%.
