Germany's announcement clearly underscores its concerns that Gazprom is cutting back on gas exports to Western Europe for political leverage and its claims of "temporary technical disruptions" are misleading.

Winter (when it arrives) will be okay in Germany and other western countries.

Not just Germany but Western Europe needs to reopen their coal mines and start manufacturing natural gas and liquid fuel from their coal reserves. Germany did it in WWII.

And this is what every EU country should do. Poland should be exporting coal to countries that rely on Russian gas as well. If Russia can't keep the EU hostage with gas and oil things will slip away from them quickly. All the green energy talk can continue, and conversions can be made, but the tap from Russia needs to be closed. Meanwhile oil production in the US is expected to rise and is already at pre pandemic levels.

Without the EU, who does Russia have to sell gas to? Next winter will be warm, and smoggy. Putin can't keep the engine rolling in Ukraine without customers for natural resources. China wont keep buying everything up. Storage facilities take time to build.

The talk of nukes landing in Poland, once again does not scare anyone. That would mean nukes landing in Moscow. Believe it or not, I prefer even Moscow does not experience this. That said, if it happens, it happens.

You haven't been reading my posts carefully - not Russia's (it wouldn't exist as a single entity by then) but Muscovy's, Siberian Republic's, Greater Mongolia's and Upper China's. No worries though, all four post-Russia republics, after giving up their nukes, would be given full security assurances in a form of a memorandum. It probably wouldn't be necessary, because being members of the EU, from Lisbon to Vladivostok, would guarantee peace and prosperity for them but if they wanted such assurances, they would definitely be given to them.

It's kind of you to envision only 4 new divisions. Most Ukrainians imagine at least 30 republics arising. Interesting that China is getting something here, instead of some Manchu minority. Who exactly will control the Siberian Republic, since Russians represent an overwhelming majority in population there, followed by Ukrainians? Come to think of it, even your "Upper China" is majority Russian. The one thing that might make sense is Greater Mongolia. Because Mongolia and Russia is basically the same thing, this should not represent too much of a problem.

As a proud Pomeranian I appreciate your friendly sentiments. However, Poland will have to remain strong and united, as one of the signature members of the Warsaw Memorandum, to be able to provide firm security assurances to the abovementioned post-Russian republics after they give up their nukes.
