Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

@Novichok
But you live in the US. Maybe you should simply leave? Go to Russia and enjoy your comrades. Then you can write about how great life is. You wont be an American to them, you will be a Pole.
Last I remembered it was a persons choice to like or dislike anything. What is appropriate for me may not be for anyone else. People have a right to chose to be exposed to Russian culture or not. Isn't that exactly part of why this war is taking place?
I am still trying to figure out why all these Russian supporters are even here on PF wasting time. Being here and presenting your opinions clearly has zero impact, and when propaganda is not working its best to either change it or put it someplace else.

Maybe you should simply leave?
There's nothing he can do in the US that he couldn't do in Russia (according to his logic), so.... it's a mystery why he tolerates being surrounded by a culture he despises....
so why do you believe that Ukrainians deserve hatred?
It's the cultural narcissism... western Ukrainians are not impressed by or attracted by Russian language or culture or social norms and that kind of... indifference is intolerable to the narcissistic mindset.
The problem isn't Putin - it's a culture taken over by collective narcissism...

Did I mention that Russia is winning?
RU used to occupy 34% of UA territory, now barely holds 18%. Germany advanced a lot in WW2 yet lost, Napoleon advanced a lot and also lost the war.... Strelkov himself said that capturing a city with no way to maintain will not lead to victory. RU lost in Snake Island, RU lost in Kyiv, is losing in Kherson and is only advancing in Donbas.

Awesome new thread by Kamil Galeeve... disector of russian delusions....
shorter version:
russian government (empire) can never tolerate individaul or collective citizen initiative and relentless wipes it out (note the inabiity of pro-russian posters here to think for themselves)
the soviet union didn't die in 1991 but in 2014 which ripped out the continuity from soviet times in government and mililtary in Ukraine
had russia gone full scale invasion in 2014 it might have won due to that continuity
it has no chance because the new Ukraine is much more open to individual initiative and has generated lots of people loyal to the new system of citizenship rather than the russian tsar-serf system....

Their survivor has told them to. In the case of one or two of them.
Poor mental health in the case of some others.

I can still hate this invasion and support Ukraine WITHOUT hating Russia....
I kinda have to agree, but would append that to hating the ancient cultural classics from russia, and spitting on the significant part of the ruski population who hates putin and is against the wa, that is dumb . won the battle about that on the aussie forums. But russia as a whole, as a concept, I have to side with jonas, maf and baboon.
Banning Tchaikovsky and Tolstoy around the world, (even when the conductor who wanted to play Tchaikovsky is Ukrainian), and that world renowned conductor got death threats etc, is just pure insanity. Part of the BS cancel culture continued. True story

Banning Tchaikovsky
I'd guess that there wasn't much Wagner performed outside Germany during WWI or II.
It would have left a bad taste in the mouth, just as performing r*ssian works would right now.
And of course concerts, opera and theatre are business. They need bums on seats. Who would want to go to see Boris Gudonov or The love of three oranges right now?

Has Tchaikovsky been mentioned by Putin as his favourite composer, and have the themes in his music been used to justify russia's imperial aims/invasions like Wagner was misused by Hitler? Not quite the appropriate comparison there.. In fact, that's quite a stretch?

without Torqi I would had long left again
You know what... now that I think of it, I think it was the PF experience, our discussions and friendship, then ATP and all, which made me interact with our Russian members the way I did (even though I was really livid at first). Talking to people goes a long way, doesn't it? And Bobi and Veli, all our obvious differences aside, came here to talk to us.
Banning Tchaikovsky and Tolstoy around the world (...) etc, is just pure insanity.
Exactly! It's almost as if someone was trying to steer us into becoming rabid maniacs, fanatic and hateful. And of course, it's happening on both sides - look at some of the stuff Crnogorac's posting or the way gregy talks about the Ukrainian president as "Zhidenski" etc.
So, I will repeat it once again - to both sides: don't succumb to hatred, try to understand the other side, try to refrain from pointless insults, talk to people in a more or less civilised way (especially if you're trying to explain to them that THEY are not civilised :D) and... yeah... that's pretty much it.
What's going to happen is going to happen anyway, and small people like us will not change it. But we can retain our humanity and when we stand before God we will stand without hatred in our hearts.
Here, rant over. :)

You can't hate a country!
You can. The point here is they hate or not we don't know it is a forum. All I see people are VENTING their outrage be in moral or otherwise and I see people like Velunt making smartassed remarks and threats.
It doesn't excally calm the waters here.
You are right they shouldn't gang on GK but that not how it works. Those Velunts spew a lot of vile stuff too.
Did I mention that Russia is winning?
Yes many times and then same more that makes you a stupid troll. It is sad that uttering nonsesne gives you a satisfaction of sorts, you must be such a looser in the real life that I think I should feel sorry for you. I can't.

Has Tchaikovsky been mentioned by Putin as his favourite composer
Does does he need to be?
There's no shortage of r*ssian nationalistic themes in his stuff. There are in fact lots.
And I doubt there was much Beethoven done in London during WW2 either.
Not quite the appropriate comparison there.. In fact, that's quite a stretch?
It's a perfect comparison. Perhaps "a stretch" if you're thousands of miles from it. Not such "a stretch" when this war touches your life daily.
All I see people are VENTING their outrage
Quite.
And I'd say that in some cases it's more than just outrage. It's personal hurt for some of us who have in-laws abducted from Mariupol, a brother-in-law in the Ukrainian armed forces risking his life daily to defend his family and his country and wives/husbands from Ukraine who are at the point of breakdown.

The special forces of the Russian Guard conducted a search of the house of the ex-head of the SBU department, General Savchenko
Documents were found confirming the work of OSCE observers in the interests of the Ukrainian special services. Also, the testimony of witnesses from among local residents indicates the frequent presence of OSCE staff in this house.
In general, there was no doubt in Donbass about the lack of neutrality of these "observers," but there was no documentary evidence of their work for the SBU until now.

Russians managed to cross the Donets river near Bilohorivka and made some territorial gains, now pushing towards Siversk...

... British intelligence claims that Ukrainian forces managed to withdraw in orderly fashion from Lisichansk. Russian will now probably try to take the rest of Donetsk Oblast. I wonder if we will see any major Ukrainian counter attacks in coming weeks - they do have numerical advantage after all. Here's hoping.

KiryĆo Budanow - chief of Ukrainian military intelligence - says that the war in Ukraine will see its turning point in August, and that the end of the war will mean reaching the 1991 borders and no other option is even taken into consideration...
odessa-journal.com/kirill-budanov-putin-will-not-succeed/
... quite interesting; is there any major weapons delivery to Ukraine planned for July (larger number of tanks, afv or artillery systems)? He must be basing his optimism on something substantial. Or maybe they will throw more reserves to the front - their army is more numerous than invading forces.
@Kashub1410
Quite possible. They definitely have a plan, I just haven't figured out what the plan might be yet.

He not only lives in the US, but he lives in a suburb of the largest Polish population outside of Poland! WTF ? This is the type of person who should be deported and those who try to enter the US like him should never get in.
The Russian economy.....inflation over 17%, accelerating inflation on imported items and they are becoming harder to find. Unemployment rising, and outhouses overflowing. Such a life. It is easy to see why everyone aspires to this lifestyle and people must be lining up to get into Russia.

Ukraine is expected to receive more heavy artillery and Gepard anti-air tanks in July. Previous deliveries are also showing their impact e.g. when they forced Russia to withdraw from Snake Island. Finally Russia is slowly running out of steam, depleting its' manpower and stocks of guided missiles. Its' puppets in Donbass have already admitted that they have lost 50% of its troops already. All of this might lead to a reversal of fortunes in 1-2 months.

And I doubt there was much Beethoven done in London during WW2 either.
A better comparison. I bet there was some, though of course not as some celebration of german culture but part of a repertoire. And in small venues. You know why? Because there are people of culture, who understand art (esp artists that died long time ago) have nothing to do with current day wars and politics, and then are people (usually black and white thinkers or cultural marxists), who think politics is everything and everywhere.
By your 'stretch' it would have been perfectly sane during the English occupation of Northern Ireland, and during The Troubles, for the Irish to ban any performance of Shakespeare and William Byrd. Oh, and rip every English philosopher book out libraries and schools.

Brilliant! Especially the artillery will come in handy - that's one area in which Russians still have overwhelming advantage. If local militias in Luhansk and Donetsk really lost 50% of their forces, then it's shocking... absolutely shocking losses.
and then tactical nuke gunna make its premiere
Russians are not going to use nuclear weapons against an enemy that: a) doesn't have nuclear weapons b) is not threatening the existence of Russia. They may be aggressors but they are not genocidal maniacs.
Tacitus

tactical nuke gunna make its premiere.
That would be Russia's undoing. No country would side with them after that. Not even the Chinese propaganda could sell this to their citizen. Breaking the nuclear taboo has a steep price, hence the Americans did not do so in Korea and Vietnam ans the Soviwts in Afghanistan.
Russia will loose this war and will retreat from Donbass and Crimea eventually. It is only a question of when, not if.
absolutely shocking losses.
They are just cannon fodders for the Russians. They are thrown into urban fighting with no training barely any equipment. So much for Russia "liberating" them.

@gregy741
Once again you show your complete ignorance. A nuke of any size would contaminate not only the impact zone, but would definitely impact Crimea. So until Russia evacuates Crimea, Ukraine is fighting a conventional war. Though Putin would for sure nuke his own people, he wouldn't do it if it meant not being able to claim a complete victory over Ukraine. This simply won't happen.
@johnny reb
Limiting the benefits is a wise move. There are plenty of jobs available for Ukraine people to take. So many places do not have enough employees, there are help wanted signs everywhere. It took me a month to fill one position.

Russians are not going to use nuclear weapons against an enemy that: a) doesn't have nuclear weapons
maybe ,you should check their military doctrine. they will use it ,if there is a danger of losing territory
some tactical nukes have smaller yield than MOAB (conventional bomb)
A nuke of any size would contaminate not only the impact zone,
some nukes dont produce radiation fallout at all(they will "scan" you with gamma ray tho.). like hydrogen fusion nukes. fission plutonium ones are dirtiest.
GefreiterKania
4 Jul 2022 #6298
maybe ,you should check their military doctrine. they will use it ,if there is a danger of losing territory
Maybe you should. Their doctrine says that Russia "reserves the right to utilize nuclear weapons in response to the utilization of nuclear and other types of weapons of mass destruction against it and (or) its allies, and also in the event of aggression against the Russian Federation involving the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is under threat." (See text of the 2010 Russian Military Doctrine, February 5, 2010, at carnegieendowment.org/files/2010russia_military_doctrine.pdf).
Ukraine doesn't have weapons of mass destruction (and is definitely not planning to obtain and use any against Russia) and loss of a territory outside of Russia's borders hardly constitutes a threat to "the very existence of Russian state".
Tacitus
4 Jul 2022 #6299
Not to mention that there is no "event of Agression" against Russia, but one against Ukraine.
gregy741
4 Jul 2022 #6300
when the very existence of the state is under threat.
yes.but if you read between the lines, Russia has already stated ,that this war was provoked by nato threatening existence of Russia
they regard pro nato ukraine as vital threat . not to mention nato sending long range munition to ukra.
and threre is a thing called "escalation"
things got out of hand in wars. look at what nato is now planning in syria.-new offensive.already planning to confront russia military
