Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

Gorbatschow wasn't really that different from other Soviet leaders. This is the same man who tried to supress the independence of the Baltic states militarily. It is just that he recognized that he could not keep the Warsaw Pact together militarily.

This is the same man who tried to supress the independence of the Baltic states militarily.

But it was also him who officially recognized and acknowledged their independence, setting them free!

He had to speak abit like the hardliners in the party still or they would had lynched him in office....

Yes, unfortunately... Gorbachev wasn't so nice, as people in the West seem to think... I guess people have short memory...:

history.com/.amp/this-day-in-history/lithuania-rejects-soviet-demand-to-renounce-its-independence

"In January 1991, the Soviets launched a larger-scale military operation against Lithuania. Many in the United States were horrified, and the U.S. Congress acted quickly to end economic assistance to the Soviet Union. Gorbachev was incensed by this action, but his powers in the Soviet Union were quickly eroding. In December 1991, 11 of the Soviet Socialist Republics proclaimed their independence and established the Commonwealth of Independent States. Just a few days after this action, Gorbachev resigned as president and what was left of the Soviet Union ceased to exist."

But it was also him who officially recognized and acknowledged their independence, setting them free!

Not because he wanted to, but because he had no other choice.

He had to speak abit like the hardliners in the party

Those were not just words, but actions, BB. Read some history...

war is so stupid

It is. And this war is especially stupid and evil. Tell this to Putin, Bobko, Velund, Crow, Crnsometing and other psychos who support this f*cking invasion.

ehh , i envy you. your life is so simple. they are bad -we are good.
i could tap myself in the back for being in the good camp ,cus am polish. and i could spit at the other guy from great peak of moral standpoint.

see, the problem is, this war didnt start 3 months ago but 8 years ago after 60 ppl were burned alive in odessa. . donetsk /lughansk/soldiers been dying like that for 8 years.outnumbered outgunned.i seen it 1000 times and i cant lie to myself that we are the good ones.

politicians make stupid calls, common folk die in the mud trying to protect each other. while zelenskys buy villas in switzerland. sad world.

I actually agree with you on much of the left wing BS.

The things you mentioned are true and impossible to change within our means and lifetime.
My main point here is not to die for the benefit of the top 1%. That includes the ruling mobs everywhere - the US, the EU, Russia, and Ukraine, My position on this subject has been consistent here from day one.

My sympathies aside, I cringe while watching anything about Stalingrad and the enormous casualties on both sides. My reaction to the number of dead in Ukraine is the same. As I already said, these are brothers killing brothers for the difference that is not worth dying for.

That's it.
Last point for the moment. One of my failures here is that I could not convince other posters to recognize their enemies. To find them, we have to look up, not east or west.

politicians make stupid calls, common folk die in the mud trying to protect each other. while zelenskys buy villas in switzerland. sad world.

I want to thank you for this post. I just said the same thing.

But what happened 8 years ago was also an illegal invasion, followed by turning Donbass into a toilet. I know there are are a few people here who want to turn the clock back 30 years but normal people don't want that.

The ordinary people of Donbass and the rest of Ukraine just want a fair society, some material things, opportunity for their kids and peace.

Ask the peole of Donbass today and they would choose Ukraine by a large majority

Novichok

The ordinary people of Donbass and the rest of Ukraine just want a fair society,

Ordinary Americans do not want to spend 700 billion a year, or 40% of the world's total, on weapons they don't need to stay safe. either.

Back to the 1% problem.

it would be far better for russians if Ukraine had been in NATO already

Exactly.

The greatest threat to Russia was never NATO, USA, the west or etc. Was its own demography.

Instead of doing reforms to make RU economy more competitive and attractive to high IQ/highly educated Russians, Pooteen decide to play the Emperors game... If he instead did tax reforms to make his taxation system as competitive as Estonia, got free trade deals with other countries, simplified and deregulate the economy, I'm sure that RU would become extremely wealthier and many Russians who leaved would move back.

So Americans can vote for different politicians who don't want to help Ukraine - there are elections coming up

Russians will never have that option - they are stuck with the thieves and rapists

Merkel wouldnt have been such a C u next tuesday

Merkel was pretty clearly owned by Putin - no other leader would put up with the disrespect he showed her and _still_ make her country economically dependent on a single man.... terrible politician whose "legacy" gets worse and worse.

The issue is Russia's "hey look at me" needs and their inferiority complex

surface superiority complex, inner inferiority complex (typical of narcissists) they seethe inside because the hated Americans have higher standards of living and because the world doesn't want to learn their language etc.

is a smart guy

they have tons of smart people (very high level of human capital) but it's wasted on rationalization and envy and worse... like I've said, it could be an economic and cultural superpower but as it is, it's Nigeria with snow.... (Nigeria being another country with a lot of potential that wastes much of it on corruption and crime).

terrible politician whose "legacy" gets worse and worse.

Absolutely! And she has to watch her own fall from grace still alive....most politicians are usually already dead and buried when that happens.

What med school did you graduate from?

People that lead NATO are moral giants and NATO is the best alliance that cares for humanity.

If that was sarcasm, it didn't work.

Crow

All who don`t understand humanitarian concept of NATO should be sent in re-educational camps.

Novichok

The problem with such sarcasm is that there are people here who agree with your sarcastic post.

Crow

NATO is practically tool of God and NATO actions are a godly petting.

there are people here who agree

Sensual and righteous souls.

Spieprzaj U, why do you ask?

The greatest threat to Russia was never NATO

Vlad Vexler (himself born in Russia) has an interesting take:

"the logic of the Kremlin regime is war.
War as an end - not a means.
The 'let's negotiate' camp misses this.
Russia has no targets in Ukraine. Russia isn't even at war with Ukraine. Russia is just at war."

Yes, it did start 8 years ago - Russia started it. But not after the fire in Odessa in May 2014. Before it. Russia started this war in February 2014 when it sent Russian soldiers to Crimea.

And you make it sound as if Ukrainians put people in some barn and set fire to them, which wasn't the case:

bbc.com/news/world-europe-27275383

ehh , i envy you. your life is so simple. they are bad - we are good.

No, it isn't. But this fact is simple - Russia started this war, not Ukraine. Russia was fueling unrest in Ukraine by sowing discord and panic by the means of their propaganda. Neither Ukraine nor Ukrainians are perfect, but Russia has blood on it's hands.

donetsk /lughansk/soldiers been dying like that for 8 years.outnumbered outgunned.i seen it 1000 times

Really? Are you saying that Russia after brainwashing them and egging them on, left them on their own to fend for themselves?? If that's the case then how on Earth Ukrainians didn't manage to take back those lands? Wasn't that because of the Russian military support, by any chance? lol 🤦

Crow
4 Jul 2022  #6382

NATO should help Ukraine to forgive and forget.

as if Ukrainians put people in some barn and set fire to them

Let us not confuse stories. It was what Vatican`s ustashe did to Serbs during WW2. Why would Slavs of Ukraine repeat that on other Slavs, in our time? Who sane would even get that idea in front of EU and NATO that care for us all?

mafketis

Ukrainians put people in some barn and set fire to them

Tha'ts the RSM (russianstream media) talking point, faitfully repeated by its gullible followers.

Russia is just at war.

The US has been at war for 92% of its existence. An open question is who emulates whom?

Crow

Let us pray to NATO and to EU.

Why do you tolerate it?

Good question. He is corrupt by good standard of living. USA stolen but gave something to him. Now, USA can`t steal as before and he criticize USA. Seeee?

Novichok
4 Jul 2022  #6388

Why do you tolerate it?

For the same reason why Germans tolerated WW2. Wars make chests bigger and sound better when you pound on them.

Crow
4 Jul 2022  #6389

I knew it. I knew it. See how are pro-NATO people moral giants? See? NATO stolen, gave them too, can`t steal now but they are loyal and have hope NATO would again steal and give them too.

Paulina

should be sent in re-educational camps.

That's the Chinese and North Korean way and a long-lasting Russian tradition, in case you forgot.

while zelenskys buy villas in switzerland. sad world.

Why don't you ever worry about Putin's villas, eh? He was lately seen in a Brioni suit worth over 6000 dollars (that's a price for a ready suit, not tailored) - it's 27 000 PLN.
