British Mercenaries Charged By DPR With Crimes - Face Death Penalty!

And there is a war crime that Russia can't deny committing because these two Brits are not mercenaries- they've both been enlisted in the Ukrainian army for at least three years and one is a Ukrainian citizen. So if they are executed after a show trial, their deaths will be another nail in Russia's coffin.

Why NATO had to spread?

To save nations from RuSSist barbarism. Simple.

New graves after RuSSist occupation in the region of Kyiv. This is what RuSSists are only able to offer: death, destruction and suffering.

According to Anne Applebaum....

Wow, this is insane - here's an article about it:

zona.media/translate/2022/04/23/kyiv_erased

Unfortunately those people working there are complicit in erasing Ukraine from history and thus brainwashing their own people. They even go as far as self-censorship just not to lose a nice job... This is sickening, tbh.

GefreiterKania

And people wonder why countries around them want to join NATO?

And Pope Francis says that NATO are dogs barking at the doors of Russia...

tellerreport.com/news/2022-05-03-pope--%E2%80%9Cnato-barking-at-the-doors-of-russia%E2%80%9D-could-be-the-reason-for-the-start-of-a-special-operation.rkUk6lwCSc.html

... how low can this "church" fall?

Paulina
3 May 2022  #755

@GefreiterKania, I know, I've just read it in Polish news... I have no words... What a disappointment this pope turned out to be... and in such a grave moment in time...

I think it may be due to the fact that he's from Latin America and he has his Latin American view and doesn't entirely grasp European realities? I don't know... 🤷 I know one thing - he's increasingly p*ssing me off and I'm losing patience with this guy already.

And, anyway, if the pope is so ignorant of European matters then he should learn before he opens his mouth.

special-operation

What is that source?

I had a look and it seems bizarre. The original interview is much more nuanced and is reported in the Corriere della Serra website.

And meanwhile. russia threatened to destroy the U.K. and Ireland with a giant tsunam8 from a Poseidon submarine. They forgot to say that the only 9ne they have is in dry dock and inoperable..

ussia threatened to destroy the U.K. and Ireland with a giant tsunam8 from a Poseidon submarine

Putin only knows how to play one game: To raise the stakes until everybody else folds and he gets what he wants. Usually he gets it by raising the stakes far less than he has now, but people and leaders are catching up and/or fed up with this bulls*hit and are not blinking anymore. That is why russian media is becoming more and more incessant and explicit in their stated intent to nuke. They want people to notice.

What they are doing is islamist terrorism x 1000, since they aren't just threathening to blow up a building but the entire world. But unlike the islamist terrorists they don't actually believe they are going to heaven, Putin knows that if there is a God, he's going straight to hell, and is not eager to die. They are not actually serious about starting nuclear annihilation, they just want the west to believe it so they'll cave into letting Putin get what he wants.

Paulina

The original interview is much more nuanced

The "nuance" you mentioned doesn't make it much better. When asked whether it is right to aid Ukraine with weapons the pope said that he's "not able to say", because he's "too far away". Then maybe he should f*cking go to Ukraine, to Bucha and Irpin, for example, and see for himself? Maybe then he "would be able to say" something that makes sense?

They are not actually serious about starting nuclear annihilation, they just want the west to believe itso they'll cave into letting Putin get what he wants.

That's my guess too, to be honest. Still, I wonder what ordinary Russians are thinking when they're watching this festival of insanity...

Putin only knows how to play one game: To raise the stakes until everybody else folds

Indeed, however he has found out that this does not work against stronger opponents.

intent to nuke. They want people to notice

Very much so. Of course they know how it would end for them. And of course this is a sign of their increasing desperation. The next few weeks will be key; as russia continue to lose, we can expect some interesting developments.

@Paulina
Why the quotation marks around the word nuance? The interview as a whole is certainly more nuanced than the reports in pro-russia websites. The Pope does have to keep a certain distance and be measured in his words. He isn't a politician or a commentator.

They may find a few nasty surprises soon.

Why the quotation marks around the word nuance?

I'm showing my "distance" to his nuance in this way.

The Pope does have to keep a certain distance and be measured in his words.

He's doing it in a sh*tty way though, imho. He could say something like: "As a leader of a Christian Church I have to always seek a peaceful resolution to conflicts, which doesn't mean, of course, that Ukrainians don't have the right to defend themselves." That would be an intelligent and understandable thing to say. And did you read the rest? About testing weapons? He's making a mockery of Ukrainians' fight against a barbaric invasion and of our efforts to help Ukraine stop the Russian savages.

A recent anecdote: RuSSia in Ukraine is fighting NATO in Ukraine!

Losses:
RuSSia: 600 tanks, 3,000 armoured carriers, 25,000 people etc -
NATO: it hasn`t come yet. :):)

jon357

@Paulina
He's already spoken out against the war from his pulpit.

This was a TV interview, mostly covering other subjects. I do wonder what he really thinks about the conflict though, which side he's on. As the religious denomination he runs declines in membership and influence, he is in a very awkward position.

RuSSia: 600 tanks, 3,000 armoured carriers, 25,000 people etc

Over 1000 tanks even, and increasing by the day.

Russian corpses keep piling up too. Apparently many more than of Ukrainians. Nothing to be happy about. This war shouldn't have started in the first place. Putler has blood of many people on his hands, including of his own compatriots.

Why? He said the opposite. Going against the doctrine, he is not only a heretic but he became the pope becasue homosexual lobby is that strong in the Vatican.

Paulina
3 May 2022  #774

I do wonder what he really thinks about the conflict though, which side he's on.

He's a leader of the Catholic Church, of the biggest Christian denomination. We shouldn't be wondering which side he's on. He should make it clear that he's on the side of the victims, of the good against the evil.

As the religious denomination he runs declines in membership and influence, he is in a very awkward position.

The more so he should make a clear moral stance. The pope's awkward, ambivalent attitude to this war will just contribute to a greater decline of the Church and his leadership. It's not the time for some muddy, diplomatic or ignorant comments. The pope doesn't mean anything to Putin and Russia, so I really doubt that Vatican's diplomacy will change anything. This is why I think that the pope should be at least a moral leader in this situation and speak out against evil. Clearly. That's his job actually.

She is a stupid woman.

he's "not able to say", because he's "too far away". Then maybe he should f*cking go to Ukraine,

I read the interview and I don't think he meant that literally. I think he means he's mentally too far away.

@Atch, I also think he didn't mean it literally.

I think he means he's mentally too far away.

And that's a problem then. Hence my proposal - maybe if he went to Ukraine and saw for himself what misery Russia has caused in Ukraine, he would manage to be "mentally closer" to the victims of this conflict and show some empathy and understanding.

She is a stupid woman.

Yep have to kinda agree, her and Sikorski what a couple! Didin't PO/EPP refuse to postpone the debate in the EU parlament about Poland 'rule of law' and further sanctions? Disgracefull behaviour, in the middle of a russian invasion of our brothers and sisters. And still no money from EU to help Poland support the millions of refugees. Rzeszow is 30 percent Ukranian now, and many other places in Poland like it. We are opening our hearts and our homes and EU is just trying to **** in our face. Applebaum's article in the Atlantic from a few years ago how all her old friends who support PiS don't speak to her anymore was a hoot though
