Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

PolAmKrakow
13 May 2022  #1861

While Ukraine is definitely sustaining losses, particularly at the steel mill, Russia is losing far more. The real number is 10 to 1 losses for Russia. That is astounding and far exceeds any incompetence Italy displayed in WW2.

You can take the ****** out of the ghetto but you cant take the ghetto out of the ******. Said all the time in larger cities in the US, and unfortunately is true. Same can be said about red necks and just about everyone else. Environment influences everything. People can accept the strangest things as normal or acceptable if they are something they grew up with. My wife when I complain about bad service says "its Poland", drives me nuts that it is acceptable to her when people should expect better.

Speaking of bad service though, I wonder how Russian mommies are enjoying all those funeral services they are not getting.

Problem with the senseless high losses is that it might make Russians more invested - people don't like hearing that their sons and husbands died for nothing. Putin already has his narrative about NATO aggression and Russia v the world.

Will Ukraine get this anti-aircraft system from us?

The next paradigm shift in German foreign and security policy is on the horizon.

The Federal Security Council is currently deliberating on whether Ukraine will get a German air defense system!

Specifically, it is about the IRIS-T SLM system with a range of 40 kilometers (height: 20 kilometers).

With IRIS-T SLM, combat aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, rocket artillery, drones, anti-radar missiles and bombs can be repelled, thus securing the airspace. ....

Yes please! 😍

This defense system (IRIS-T SLM) could go from Germany to the Ukraine

...Since 2007 Diehl Defense has developed the air defense system based on the air-to-air guided missile IRIS-T for combat aircraft. The missile received a more powerful rocket engine, with which targets up to 40 km away can be fought. In addition to the missiles and the launcher, the system includes a 3D all-weather radar with 360-degree coverage for air surveillance and target data determination, as well as a tactical operations center for communication within the command structures and for fire control.

esut.de/en/2022/01/meldungen/31881/leistungsfaehigkeit-des-luftverteidigungssystems-iris-t-slm-nachgewiesen/

...The system is not yet complete, but according to BILD information, it could be fully operational in Ukraine from November. ...

let me guess człek prosty treat smart asses like you with deference and prostak doesn't. lol
Who is simpleton here? You need a mirror to answer that.

The real number is 10 to 1 losses for Russia.

That is about right - loses Russia suffered while fighing Germany in WWII.

Did I said that Russia doesn't lose more soldiers? They do - my guess about be 20 - 26%.

UKRAINIAN REFUGEES REPORTEDLY KILLED A MAN IN WARSAW, POLAND (VIDEO 18+)

On 8 May, a man was reportedly killed by Ukrainian refugees in Warsaw.

According to local sources, three of drunken refugees from Ukraine beat a Pole to death. The mob reportedly began to molest a girl on the Nowy Świat Street, the man attempted to defend her. As a result, he was beaten and received several stab wounds, from which he died on the spot.

The reports are yet to be confirmed. The video was shot by a Ukrainian-speaking man.

The local police released an image of a man who may be related to the murder, calling on anyone who recognizes him to contact the policemen. Local media are silent about the nationality of the criminals.

Deadly drunk Ukrainians can be often seen in the center of Warsaw, causing discontent of local residents.

Probably because their nationality is unknown. All that is known is that they're English speaking.

Because because your 'reports' are bullsh1t.

EU announces another 500 million euros for weapons for Ukraine

welt.de/politik/ausland/article238725365/Ukraine-News-EU-kuendigt-weitere-500-Millionen-Euro-fuer-Waffen-fuer-Ukraine-an.html

That won't end well for Putin....his income gets less and less, the sanctions will struck hard and harder....the West just started building Ukraine up and will not stop anytime soon!

The EU wants to provide another 500 million euros for the supply of weapons and equipment to the Ukrainian armed forces. This was announced by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Friday on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers' meeting near Weißenhäuser Strand on the Baltic Sea. This would increase the EU funds available for military aid to Ukraine to two billion euros. ...

It all needs time to get into motion but the longterm outcome is unavoidable....

a man was reportedly killed by Ukrainian refugees in Warsaw.

Now just to balance things let's look at confirmed assaults and abuse of Ukrainians in Poland in recent years. Let's just take one year, 2019:

Brutal battery of a Ukrainian driver - 9 March 2019, Warsaw
Beating of a Ukrainian actor - 9 April 2019, Warsaw
Taxi driver's attack on Uber driver from Ukraine - 9 April 2019, Warsaw
Battery of two Ukrainian citizens - April 2019, Warsaw
Brutal beating of two Ukrainian brothers - 26 August 2019, Władysławowo
The body of a Ukrainian man abandoned in the forest - 12 June 2019, Jastrzębsko Stare
Severe beating of a Ukrainian man - 17 November 2019, Zary
Severe injury caused to a Ukrainian man - 24 November 2019
Ukrainian citizen beaten by his employer - 13 December 2019, Warsaw

Still, Poland has a long way to go to catch up on the brutality of Russia.

Interesting piece I came across:

According to a telephone survey conducted by 'The Washington Post' in January among citizens living in Donetsk and Lugansk, 42% of people preferred to remain in Ukraine, compared to 31% who thought it better for their region to be annexed by Russia. Only 9% of respondents opted for independence.

"In the Donbas, there had traditionally been no sentiment in favor of separation from the Ukrainian state or even annexation to Russia. What there was, was a claim for a cultural identity closer to the Russian one", explains the professor of the Complutense University, Madrid, who points out that "Russia's initial argument was based on an exaggeration of the cultural differences that existed in those areas of Ukraine".

It will pass and most likely for more than the $40 BILLION biden suggested. :-(

Too bad it's been blocked...

Not great.

At least the U.K. and France are nuclear states with large economies and an absolute commitment (in the U.K's case) to Ukraine.

Still, Poland has a long way to go to catch up on the brutality of Russia.

A huge way.

I'd guess that violence against or among Ukrainians in Poland has even fallen since March.

no sentiment in favor of separation from the Ukrainian state

Yes as covered in this thread. This wasn't any kind of local sentiment that was against Kyiv and for Moskva it was a Russian invasion followed by destruction of the local economy and social fabric...

money quote: "You could sell this Donbass catastrophe as a Ukrainian problem to Russians or to the Westerners. But it was impossible to present it as such to the Ukrainians. People in Kharkiv, Sumy, Mariupol saw that nothing comparable is happening on territories under the Ukrainian control"

Similarly nothing remotely as awful as Mariupol has happened to any city under Ukrainian control... its when Russians arrive that it turns to sh|t....

This wasn't any kind of local sentiment that was against Kyiv and for Moskva

Yes. The Donbas is a mining/steel region, not unlike the one I'm from. In fact, the workers of Donbas, specifically Donetsk (twinned with Sheffield) donated generously during The Strike. People there are rarely more than a few generations in the area, many moved there for work or as kids, most have things like work and family to think' about. Not irredentism, not Pushkin's glorious vision of russianness, not flags and folk dancing. These are people for whom change (and they've seen a lot from the 80s onwards) has been negative. They don't want more change. And if they're anything like the people where I'm from, they're as tough as nails.

They were fine with their home being in Ukraine. Not a fake republic run by armed fake rebels who shoot down passenger planes.

Meanwhile, there is a lot of criticism in Ukraine about France and Germany's 'Normandy Format'. Oleksey Sorokin, who generally calls it righ, has alleged that France asked Ukraine to surrender!

And while that's happening, the Ukrainian Foreign minister thanks President Biden and Secretary Blinken, and points out that one single politician there is holding back funds that they could be using now.

@pawian

You make no sense, Paw Patrol.

Oh, come on, Anti.

I don't think we have enough information to write off the Russian military as systemically inept. Would their performance been better if under a different set of generals? What exactly was the orders given to Russian military--there are some reports that indicate Putin wanted very limited collateral damage (who knows)? And on and on.

Plus, there is no doubt that Russia has a lethal military--it may not be as lethal as predicted, but it's still lethal and something to take very seriously. The rubble of Ukrainian towns and military losses sustained by Ukraine attests to that.

It may be that Russia's military is inept to its core, but I'm not willing to jump to that conclusion just yet. It's not a foregone conclusion that Russia leaves Ukraine in defeat--things can change.

Most of them have no idea what it is and what it was.

Right. That's why there were tons of Right Sector flags during Maidan and Polish memorials in Lwow and Wolyn regularly get vandalized... Every Ukranian has heard of Bandera and the vast majority honor him. That's like being Polish and not knowing who Pilsudzki is.

@Joker

It's such b.s. The congress gave MORE than what Biden even asked for... about 6-8 billion more. This 40 billion package would go a lot further helping people at home than abroad. Like USA doesn't have problems on its borders, starving families, crumbling infrastructure, etc....

Most of this money is going to get stolen by the judensky regime anyway, with the USA's blessing anyway. Well, if Russia is successful no more holiday homes along the Black Sea for judenskys minions.

ROFL!!!

Russia has a lethal military

It has a lot of weapons and it has nukes and that's basically it. It's by no means a lethal force. It's very poorly commanded and the bulk of the man are poorly trained and undisciplined. Putin calls the shots (excuse the pun) and even if he had officers who were up to the task, he would undermine them.

In almost the entire EU, the people and the political levels beneath the government do not think like Brussels. If nothing else people want to be neutral and not meddle in that war. This will lead to major protests and violence in the EU as soon as people are no longer able to pay their bills.

The Russian military has extremely low prestige within Russia (which means it doesn't attract the most talented) and operates under conditions of systematic negative selection (within a larger system that runs on paranoia). The second a General shows talent or charisma he's deemed a threat to the regime and replaced... after ever war a bunch of generals have been killed off.

This has become very clear. It's half a pyramid scheme, half a kleptocracy. The military vehicles didn't even have full tanks of diesel when they set off, nor had they been maintained, despite millions being spent to allegedly maintain them!

systematic negative selection

They have to pay a proportion of their wages to those further up the tree, like a protection racket.
