This is quickly becoming the Crimean War of the XXI Century.

Like in the first Crimean War (1853-56) Russia attacked a weaker foe, only to be bumfucked with a 'little help' from its Western allies.

Sure, the West is not actively fighting Russia, in a nuclear age it's quite a reasonable approach. But the West is providing much of heavy weaponry to Ukraine and - most importantly - twisting Russian arm so that Kremlin does not use nukes, its only realistic advantage.

And like in the first Crimean War, Russia is losing because it's a corrupt, mismanaged hellhole and the high intensity conflict made all those weaknesses obvious for everyone with a pair of eyes.

They won`t use nukes. If they could, they would have already done it. RuSSists are swearing they will defend their illegal gains with nukes. So why didn`t they do it when the Crimea was attacked several times?

They won`t coz they fear the consequences. Putin will probably give an order but the remaining nuclear attack team members will refuse to obey and won`t press their red buttons. They realise perfectly that would be the life sentence for them coz the world would demand to see them in the Hague Tribunal charged with genocide.
