Because that would be simply stupid. In retaliation, Ukrainians will kill all separatist POWs they capture. Also, foreign heroes will fight even harder and rather die than surrender. So, the execution by separatists would mean a nice shot in their own heads. Are they really such rabid dogs unable to think logically and predict the consequences???

say for example, your unit decided to surrender and you are the only merc in it. what u gunna do? if you continue fighting,you jeopardizing your colleges chance to surrender, and they might kill you in order to survive .ups

But they weren`t foreign heroes who came just after the RuSSist invasion, they considered themselves Ukrainian soldiers as they had lived in Ukraine for a few years and had citizenship. Getting money is not a crime and the international law is very clear what is and what is not the right and lawful way of dealing with it. Russian or some puppets no-states can't pick and choose that is a crime and they will pay for it. Unless they never will leave Russia and Russia remian a pariah state.

A very simple question is Cui bono, who profits from this? If the Russians wanted to kill these Azov terrorists, they would have done it immediately, they would not have fed them and treated them with medicine for months. Second, it does not pay off for the Russians to kill the prisoners because then no one will surrender. Huge efforts were made to create the perception that handing yourself over to the Russians was safe, that the prisoners were well taken care of, some were already released if they determined that they were not criminals, some were exchanged, etc. and the last thing the Russians need is for that perception to change, that suits only the soroshoids.
