If your problem is with China, and I agree the US is making a big mistake there, then biatch about China. Ukraine is a buffer for the EU and Russia, and the US has big investments in the EU, so it makes not only political sense, but economic sense to support this effort.

We all know this will end with a negotiation if Ukraine cant make significant progress before January. This is simply how it is. Saying Ukraine isnt important, and whining about the money the US is printing is screaming into the abyss. The US will just continue to print money for what ever cause it wants, and the debt ceiling will be raised, and the stupid economic policies controlled by the house and the senate will continue to F every US citizen. Probably because a) holding it responsible for actions done before the invasion is ludicrous b) it is currently one of Ukraine's biggest supporters c) the EU would cease working without it d) it is essential as a logistic hub for NATO and the Western supplies to Ukraine.

Russia is losing the war, and will lose the war. The russian people are not willing to commit the resources necessary to this war of aggression that would give russia a chance at victory. Ukraine and the Ukrainian people are fully committed to victory. Ukraine's combat power in Ukraine will continue to grow relative to russia's (full mobilization backed by massive foreign assistance) until they win.

That is why russia is looking for a negotiated end of the war on terms they can claim is a victory, and why Ukraine insists the conditions for negotiation is for russia to accept they must withdraw from Ukraine. I suspect that once russia reaches the point where there is no longer a hope for a negotiated end under favorable terms their capitulation may be faster than most would have predicted.

Russia's will to win this is simply much lower than Ukraine's is, and that manifests in many ways.
