Orlen's profit in 2021 was the highest in the company's history - 11 billion pln. If this was split between 40 million Polish citizens, everyone would get about 275 pln/year. That's about 60 dollars/year. Hardly an exorbitant sum of money. :)

Makes much more sense to pool that cash in the budget and buy a couple of HIMARS, if you ask me.

My point with Orlen was just an example, not really literal. But if you take all the government owned corporations, control excessive salaries, and redistribute profits to the people who actually own the government its not a bad idea. My point really being, for Russia, who has insane resources and profits before the war, they could impact every Russian life in a very positive manner. It will never happen though as the Russian mentality wont allow for that thinking.

Meanwhile in Ukraine, most of the power is being restored, and Ukraine continues to advance on Russian held ground. The snow keeps falling and it keeps getting colder. The Russian boys are not even close to being prepared for how cold its going to get.

From what I understand the photos show fragments of a missile from Soviet air defence system which targets only stuff in the air, like missiles and aircraft, not targets on the ground. So the most probable and logical explanation is that during the intensive Russian missile attacks Ukrainian missile was fired at a RuSSian missile but it missed. Something like this was bound to happen at some point. Of course those are just preliminary conclusions and we all should wait for results of the investigation which is on-going.


Yes, it is America's and the UK's job, because those two countries signed the Budapest Memorandum and gave Ukraine security assurances.
