Only not all the LNG is coming from US, though the US is approximately providing half the EU's LNG. Qatar is providing a lot as well. Keeping in mind though that the LNG is coming from corporations, not the government, there is no LNG financial benefit to anyone outside of corporations in the US at this point. I see your point in this, but the benefits are received by stockholders and not citizens.

Hegenomy is expensive yes. But lets not forget the EU wants to assert its dominance in all of Europe. The EU wants Moldova next, so its not as one dimensional hegenomy as some would like to make it out to be. The caveat to this though is the EU up until now has only practiced this politically and culturally. The use of military spending is of course the next step for the EU stopping just short of using military power for their aims.

This week:
- crucially important village of Bahmut lost to Russians again (will happen 10 times more this year)
- Putin went to ask mighty Belarus for help (Lukashenko pretended he has a flu)
- Zelensky went to ask decadent USA for help (got a few more billion USD)
- 100 000 russian soldiers dead milestone reached
- the only russian aircraft carrier on fire (as usual)

3 day special military operation on track.

Still the news of the week has got to be the Polish police official who got an anti-tank grenade launcher from Ukrainians as a souvenir and pulled the trigger in his office :-)

Also coming out of the toilet bowl of Russia today is new news on more conscription that is coming. With world acclaimed Putin coxucker Sergei Shoigu talking about doubling the size of the professional Orc army that currently stands at about 750K to 1.5 million. Bravo! We can expect another wave of Orcs escaping Mordor sometime after the holidays.

In other news, Shoigu was later reported to be ok after having his dupa sewn up after training new recruits on approved interrogation techniques, Shoigu himself had volunteered to play the part of the person being interrogated. Putin was said to be all smiles after watching the training. Happy gulag biatches!

Amendment to transfer seized assets of Russian oligarchs to the people of Ukraine approved in US Congress. How you like that news you Putin coxuckers? Every other country is going to do the same. Fvck Putin and his gang of thieves. Its going to get real in Mordor when people with money no longer have what they thought they had. All those super yachts to be sold. What a nice day. A windfall for Ukraine.

Amendment to transfer seized assets of Russian oligarchs to the people of Ukraine approved in US Congress

On top of that, the US gov has agreed that Russia will have to pay the reparations after the war.

Historical analogy No 10:
Churchill speaks to the Congress about the war against Nazis 1941
Zelensky speaks to the Congress about the war against Russians 2022

German intel employee held for passing information to Russia

ctvnews.ca/world/german-intel-employee-held-for-passing-information-to-russia-1.6205741

....The man, a German citizen who was identified only as Carsten L. in line with German privacy rules, was arrested in Berlin on Wednesday, federal prosecutors said in a statement.

....
They said the BND employee passed this year "information that he had acquired in his professional activity" to a Russian intelligence service, which they didn't identify. They added that the information was a "state secret" as defined by Germany's criminal code, but did not elaborate.

....
He pointed to the alleged "unscrupulousness and propensity to violence" of Russia and added that "every detail of this event that becomes public means an advantage for this adversary in its intention to damage Germany."...

Coming back from the US, the heroic President of even more heroic Ukraine met the Polish President

Yes, I read about that.
Zelensky held a meeting with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda on Dec. 22 in Rzeszow, Poland.
"We discussed future strategic plans, bilateral relations, and joint actions at the international level next year," Zelensky said about his meeting with Duda, who he called "a friend of Ukraine."

Rzeszow Airport, located 90 kilometers west of Ukraine's border, has been used by Zelensky to travel to Washington, D.C., a day prior.

the first full week after the EU ban on seaborne Russian crude imports came into effect, total volumes shipped from the nation dropped by 1.86 million barrels a day, or 54%, to 1.6 million.

oilprice.com

Russian ability to fund the war and replenish weapon stocks have taken a major hit. Along with the discount, there is a blacklist of tankers that have carried Russian Crude which the Oil majors are not using.

Might slow the war down a lot once the weapons are not being made as well the Russian Economy will tank, this may pressure the oligarchs into finding the war does not meet their business needs.

the largest US major, Exxon Mobil, is avoiding hiring oil tankers that previously carried cargoes from Russia, putting itself in the same camp as Shell Plc with a move that pressures owners to choose whether to serve Moscow's interests or not.

Across Russia this morning there have been reports of a very strange and unheard of sound emitting from ATM machines and the ground underneath national bank branches. The sound has been referred as a very loud sucking sound. When asked about this phenomenon, the head of the Russian National Bank was quoted as saying "the sucking sound you hear throughout the country is the vacuum created by all of our financial resources being spent on a war that we cannot win". Sergei Shoigu commented that "its not me making that noise this time, I wont see Vlad again until next week."

In other news from the war, Russia is losing. Happy gulag biatches!

One thing is certain after Zelenski's visit to the US - Russia's f*cked. There is a visible change of approach to the war in America, and apparently the scenario of the break up of Russia is no longer only political fiction. Sure, it will be easier for China to control independent Siberian entities but it looks like the US is willing to accept that.

Crimean War, Russo-Japanese war, Polish-Soviet war or Afghanistan will seem like irrelevant tiny defeats compared to the hit that Russia is going to take after Ukraine.

I guess there are alot more friends of Russia deep inside

Not friends of Russia but friends of Putin. Real friends of Russia would try to speed up the fall of the current regime.

And you don't have to dig deep inside, BB - your chancellor is one of them. He's trying to keep up appearances but he's not fooling anyone.

Real friends of Russia would try to speed up the fall of the current regime.

Friends of world peace, stability and decensy would try to speed up r*SSia's defeat.

ExxonMobil, is.avoiding.hiring oil tankers that previously carried cargoes from Russia, ........ Shell......pressures owners to choose whether to serve Moscow's interests or not.

This is a good move. A logical next step for sanctions would be for ships that have carried products to or from r*SSia since a given cut off date not to be able to dock in western democratic countries.

Turkish Airlines needs tackling as well. I was at the new Istanbul airport recently, and around a third of the departures board was filled with the names of r*SSian provincial cities; something you just didn't see before March of this year.

The wife of one of Putin's top defense ministers visited France this year to enjoy a lavish shopping spree as her husband helped Russia amped up their attacks against Ukraine.

Svetlana Ivanova, the wife of Russia's Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov, reportedly visited Paris in March and spent a whopping $85,000 on designer goods in the world's fashion capital.

"Significant progress" has been made in the "demilitarization" of Ukraine, which is one of the initial goals of Russia's invasion, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed Friday. LMFAO

Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a press conference Thursday that the Ukrainian military-industrial complex "if not completely reset to zero, is getting there fast." ROTFLMFAO

Putin said Patriots are "old" systems and Russia will "always find the antidote."

Holy fvck these guys are funny. I thought this was a standup routine before I read who was quoted. Amazing! These guys might have a future in prison at the talent show instead of swallowing c0cks in the toilet. Funny stuff there boys. Happy holidays comrades and enjoy the gulag stew!

Meanwhile, the Orc's only aircraft carrier has had a second fire while undergoing more repairs. Thats some quality craftmanship and labor right there folks. Display nothing but the best for Mother Russia. Maybe next we can hear about how Russian pole dancers burst into flames while entering church? Those guys working on that aircraft carrier are the same guys I would definitely want building more missiles and bombs in Russia. Keep up the good work boys!

Meanwhile, the Orc's only aircraft carrier has had a second fire while undergoing more repairs.

That ship is completely inoperable anyway, the only reason why Russia keeps it afloat is the prestige that comes from owning an aircraft carrier.
But how can a ship that has been parked in port since 2017, and before that was literally towed into various places to show off, gets damaged so often? IT DOES NOTHING. How is it always damaged? Some very dedicated smokers on board?

One thing is certain after Zelenski's visit to the US - Russia's f*cked.

I had a completely different reading. Zelensky embarrassed Biden. American officials were the first to issue statements after the closed door meetings, and they said they found that Zelensky was open to seeking a "just peace". Then during the joint press conference, with Biden standing right next to him, Zelensky said that for him a "just peace" means "no compromises" and a complete return to Ukraine's 1991 borders (US officials had been hinting that Feb. 24 border is a desirable goal), as well as complete payment of restitution by Russia. This contradicted Biden's signals that he had convinced Zelensky to pursue diplomacy more seriously, and risks NATO unity re: missions goals in Ukraine.

Zelensky got a small portion of the weapons requests he had made. His speech was to a lame duck Congress right before Christmas, whereas the incoming GOP majority leader has said he will withdraw Ukraine's "blank check" when their party takes control in January.

Ukraine received a single battery of Patriot missiles, not enough to even shield Kiev. No promise of tanks. No promise of jets. No ATACMS. No advanced drones.

Meanwhile in Russia, our government is finally beginning to take the war seriously and plan accordingly.

War will be long, but Russia will prevail in the end.

@Bobko
You call it your government, yet you hide behind my government in the USA. You are a traitor and a coward. Russia has already lost. Your $hit hole country is a dumpster fire like none before. Your young people are leaving and dying. You have a mental midget for a leader, and your whole society is built upon lies and criminal activity. It would be a shame if people in NYC actually found out who you were and how you supported the war. Get out of the USA and go home to Russia, you are not wanted and the Orc's could use more to process for dog food.

GefreiterKania
23 Dec 2022  #1823

I had a completely different reading.

Apparently. I suppose we will have to wait and see whose reading was more accurate.

Ukraine received a single battery of Patriot missiles

... and a huge pile of money, enough to buy a lot of weapons. As for tanks and jets - first Korean tanks and howitzers already started arriving in Poland; we bought sh*tloads of them, as well as rocket artillery, jets, drones etc. We won't be able to pass HIMARS and Abrams to Ukraine - the US won't agree to that, but there is no such limitation when it comes to all the Korean stuff (some of which we will manufacture in Poland, including K2PL tanks), so I bet we will pass at least some of the modern equipment to Ukraine. It is a matter of our survival as well, so even if all other countries stop weapon deliveries, Poland will continue hers.

So, Ukraine will keep getting weapons, the US and the EU will continue the financial support and there are no visible signs of lower morale of either AFU or their civilians. How, in such conditions, under continuing sanctions can you predict that...

War will be long, but Russia will prevail in the end.

...is beyond me. What possible, logical indicators can there be that might point to even a distant possibility of Russian victory? I try to be objective in all that, and read various sources, but I really can't see any way for Russia to win in the long run. What's the basis for your optimism? Mass mobilisation? About a million of your compatriots have already run away for fear of being conscripted, and if Putin presses harder with that plan more will run away rather than be transformed into canon fodder in an aggressive war abroad. Russians are capable of amazing feats of resilience and heroism when defending their homeland, but in this war you are invaders not defenders. Tactical nuclear weapons? Very unlikely to happen and its consequences outweigh any possible operational gains. Continuing attacks against civilians to break their spirit? It's not working even now in winter, and when the winter is over their people will breathe with new hope. There's no way for Russia to win this.

23 Dec 2022  #1825

Well Russia doesn't know what it's war aims are - so there is no way they can prevail

The Ukrainians will not want anything to do with Russia for hundreds of years after this. Russia has permanently lost influence in Ukraine and permanently lost the Black Sea.

GefreiterKania

Well Russia doesn't know what it's war aims are

And there's that. Russia keeps changing their war aims as well as declaring different reasons for going into the war in the first place. Chaos.

Meanwhile, NATO (soon with Finland and Sweden) is more united than ever.

... and a huge pile of money, enough to buy a lot of weapons.

According to recently published data, US industry can currently produce about 14000 pcs of 155 mm NATO shells monthly. This is quantity, used by Ukraine in a 2 days during peak intensity of fights. It is almost impossible to buy 152 mm WP shells in necessary quantities for any money, because old stocks is depleted, and there is no working production lines (except insignificant, on a scale of demand, quantities in Bulgaria). So, a large number of Soviet D-20 (M1955) howitzers will stay without a shells on ukrainian side.

Cotton lint, used to produce gunpowder, is on a short supply. Chinese suppliers is overloaded with orders.

Can you load howitzers with dollars?

Need to say, that for now, Ze got only promises about huge pile of money. Reps in January may make reception of that amount more than problematic.

War will be long, but Russia will prevail in the end.

On condition it receives more weapons, especially tanks, from Iran. Thousands of them. Currently the Russian production has seriously decreased due to sanctions and lack of workers who were either mobilised or escaped before mobilisation to other countries. :):):)

Does Iran produce good tanks???

Bobko
23 Dec 2022  #1829

What possible, logical indicators can there be that might point to even a distant possibility of Russian victory?

Ok. This is my conjecture - flawed, and based on limited information.

War on land has been difficult. Progress there will be difficult to achieve and will demand large sacrifices. However, already 150K of the mobilized 300K is in the field. The other 150K will join soon. They are equipped with state of the art equipment. You can read about this formation, and what it is equipped with, in Western media - no need to trust me. But in a few words - it's the most modern weaponry Russia has produced since independence. Soon these boys will be entering action.

On sea the war is already won, but Ukraine has been good at contesting it. Nothing much to say here.

In the air Ukraine has had important early successes. However, our weekly barrages are exhausting their anti-air missile stockpiles. We are getting better and better at identifying and destroying their legacy S-300 systems, new NASAMS, and will probably do decently well at knocking out the Patriots. At some point we'll be able to contest the air again. With our cruise missiles running low, this will be a breath of fresh air. We have enough "air bombs" to bomb Ukraine into the Stone Age for 10 years.

Our economy is being put on war rails. Even anecdotally, the rumours are crazy. Factories with thousands of people cranking out armaments 24 hours a day in three shifts, seven days a week.

GefreiterKania
23 Dec 2022  #1830

155 mm NATO shells

Are manufactured by Poland, Czechia and Slovakia, and can be manufactured in huge numbers if need be.

and there is no working production lines (except insignificant, on a scale of demand, quantities in Bulgaria)

Nope. Poland is not only still capable of producing 152mm shells but in fact still does (Mesko)...

mesko.com.pl/produkt/152-mm-naboj-he-z-ladunkiem-pelnym

... Dezamet probably makes 152s as well, but I would have to check.

So, that's your hope of victory? Counting on Ukraine to run out of ammo? Maybe on NATO running out of ammo as well? Not going to happen, Veli.
