Their "nicknames" are radio call signs, or sort of "nom de guerres". For some reason, they are very popular with both Russians and Ukrainians. Everyone has a name, and inevitably it's something "cool".

It's not like in the US where each battalion can only have an Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Tango subgroup. We have colorful names, like "Motorola detachment", "Wildling company", "Greyhound's platoon", etc.

It makes sh!t impossible to memorize, and then ironically easier for the enemy to know who's who.
