Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 8

@pawian
The US has more than 600 military bases or installments around the world. That number is beyond excessive. The US would not have joined WW2 if not for Pearl Harbor. And the US would have been just fine then. The Japanese mistake of attacking the US brought the full force of the US to bear. And, any time that has happened, the US has won. It is the stupid small conflicts where the US does not go all in, that are problematic.

The US built its staus as a manufacturing and innovation power house. Not because of engaging in European rescues. Your over estimation of the importance of Europe to American people in general is really creating a bias that will let you down. 90% of Americans will never leave their own country and couldnt find Ukraine or Poland on a map if they had to.

The US "elites"? What exactly makes and "elite"? Wealth? Education? Or the political power being used by people to advance their own agenda's and commit crimes of insider trading as politicians?

Russia's failure has nothing to do with China. China is not going to attack the US. The war will be in Taiwan, and those islands can only hold so many people. It will likely be a very quick war whith the islands being destroyed. Hence the chip manufacturing being moved to the US beginning two years ago. I dont look forward to the war, but it looks like it is definitely going to happen.

Lock the terrorists out of Europe and the US, and where do they go? Another turd world country? Not a chance. Muslim nations are not even taking Hamas refugees. They dont GAF about each other. Let them kill each other and keep them out. Thats not naive, thats just good policy.

We (Europe) have to step in, and we will....it just takes some time....

Does Ukraine have the necessary pilots?

Probably not yet. They started training in Arizona in mid-September. Their basic 3-months course has already finished but to be able to make combat flights it takes another 3 months of training which will be completed in Europe. Also, they are supposed to get 16-18 Gripen and the training for them is already completed.

Ukraine justified not conducting proper counteroffensive with the lack of air superiority. Soon, this excuse will be gone and they will have all the means to finally regain their lost lands. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

....having an air force (to speak of) could make a big difference. The last two years they were totally vulnerable to attacks from above! The russian air power could and did destroy the Ukrainians to barely a loss of their own.

Will 60-something F-16s and Gripens be enough for Zelensky though? Or will he again say that he wasn't given enough equipment?

Ukraine F-16 training in the US is nearly complete. Reports are that the pilots have really adapted well and will be ready before the end of January. The question is if the mechanics are fully trained and ready, and do they have enough spare parts to keep them all in the air. Will they have enough missiles and other ordinance to break the front lines? How does Ukraine, the EU and US react when some of these planes are shot down?

I still wonder why the Warthogs that are sitting in the desert were not given to Ukraine. They are retired, and wont be used by the US. They are designed for air to ground combat. It is just not making sense. Unless of course the goal is to get the countries donating the F-16's to buy new F-35's.

Like when my wife donates my old stuff to force me to buy new things.
The very idea that two dozen Fs will change the outcome would be laughable if it wasn't so sad. More dead whites, more destruction, same outcome...

Memo to all:

Question 1: If you could end this war in Ukraine's favor by writing a check, what is the amount you would be willing to part with?

Question 2: How much did you donate so far to support Ukraine in any way?

That amount is already known to you so no need to speculate, guess, or bullsh*it with buts and howevers.

Silence means zero in both cases.

I was forced to donate thru my taxes. We Americans have had enough already. Its time the weasel Euros paid their own way..

The sneaky Germanys aren't paying their fair share into NATO again. I hope Trump gets elected and pulls us out of NATO forever.

The German government has retreated from a plan to legally commit itself to meeting NATO's 2% military spending target on an annual basis, a government source told Reuters on Wednesday.

.....but for that we get things rolling elsewhere:

Bundeswehr brigade for Lithuania

bmvg.de/de/aktuelles/bundeswehrbrigade-litauen-minister-unterzeichnet-roadmap-5718672

...Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his counterpart Arvydas AnuĊĦauskas from Lithuania signed the so-called roadmap in Vilnius on December 18, 2023 as the basis for stationing a Bundeswehr brigade in Lithuania. Around 5,000 Bundeswehr personnel are to be permanently stationed there from 2025 - a first for the Bundeswehr on this scale.....

The army and NATO partners are launching a major exercise in 2024

bundeswehr.de/de/organisation/heer/aktuelles/heer-und-nato-partner-starten-2024-ein-grossmanoever-5710094

....Quadriga 2024 is the largest exercise by German land forces since Russia's war of aggression on Ukraine. The focus is on the German army. More than 12,000 soldiers train - visible to the public - to alert and deploy national and multinational land forces. Germany is thus making a significant contribution to deterrence on the eastern flank of the alliance. ....

If I could end this war with a donation I would not. I have given enough. I have donated more than the average salary for a year for a manager of a company in Poland. Not including the taxes I pay in the US and Poland. I am unwilling to give one more cent until there is a clear pathway and plan for victory. If no plan, fvck them.

pathway and plan for victory

The plan is very simple, Ukraine must eliminate even more russian soldiers then before . Don't forget that in the war with Finland, russian losses were 20:1 when they did not want to continue the war.

Only a Polish maniac can argue that Finland losing its second most important city, and 60% of its industrial potential is a win.

pawian
23 Dec 2023  #1373

its industrial potential is a win

Finland retained its independence. Today, they are anti Russian like most European countries. Their standard of living is 3 times higher than an average Russian. Imperialist Russians are in declining Asian shythole, while Fins are in prosperous Europe. HA!

That`s what counts.

Any other arguments???? Bobko, bring them out all at a time to make it quicker to debunk. :):):)

Their standard of living is 3 times higher than an average Russian.

Living costs is also quite a bit higher... Let's see their average PPP income dynamics in coming year... NATO is not so cheap toy, losing access to a cheap energy and resources is also not adding to income. Democratic methane is way more expensive compared to a totalitarian one. ;)

Are you trying to suggest that sprat eating outside toilet Udmurtians have living standards comparable to Finland ? LOL - best laugh I had all day

And shut up about your weak ass oil and gas. Finland can get it from Norway without having to kowtow to drunk losers

I see democracy is thriving in Udmurtia - kudos to the brave journalist who wanted to stand against Putler. Vile treatment of her by the regime. The head of the election committee can explain herself in The Hague next year.

Any sign of Navalny BTW ? It's a perfect illustration of why there can be no negotiation with thieves and murderers

With all due respect to my PF friends, taxes are not a donation - or ransom is a donation or two nig*ers with guns in Chicago are charities...

I am embarrassed and appalled by your lack of compassion. But then you are coldhearted right-wingers and total scum.

So let's see if the ladies are any better...

Hey, Lenka, Atch, Paulina, pawian, and roz...How much did you donate in actual money to help Ukraine since it was so brutally attacked by the evil Russia?

BTW, nice thoughts, prayers, and posting on PF do not count.

Paulina

Only a Polish maniac can argue that Finland losing its second most important city, and 60% of its industrial potential is a win.

When such a small country is fighting with such a giant like the Soviet Union, retaining independence is already a win, as pawian wrote. It was even bigger win, because it was an independence from the Soviet Union.

Living costs is also quite a bit higher...

So are earnings :))

Democratic methane is way more expensive compared to a totalitarian one. ;)

I however don't see Westerners immigrating in droves to RuSSia ;) And I doubt it will change in any near future ;))

Hey, Lenka, Atch, Paulina, pawian, and roz...How much did you donate in actual money t

We donated our private money and the state chipped in its own funds which is also our money. This amounts to a few billion dollars donated by Poland and Poles already.

Paulina
23 Dec 2023  #1379

It was even bigger win, because it was an independence from the Soviet Union.

If you know what I mean :)))

Oh, btw:

economist.com/the-economist-explains/2018/03/26/why-is-finland-so-happy

"IN THE 1860s Finland suffered a famine that killed about 9% of its population. It has come a long way since. Earlier this month Finland was named the happiest country in the world by the UN's Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Three of its Nordic cousins, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, took the next consecutive places. Finns can boast of myriad other number-one spots. In recent years their country has been named the most stable, the freest and the safest by various organisations."

Imperialist Russians will achieve that standard in 2200. On condition they start getting civilised today, of course.
