What does Russia want from Poland?
Realistic answer - just be friendly.
Realistically - Russia can do little to eject Poland out of the EU or NATO. Only Poland can do that. For this we may need to wait for PiS to come back into power.
So we cannot make Poland enter our Customs Union, or ODKB security bloc. What could we want then? Poland as an advocate.
Poles are Slavs, we lived together in one country for a long time, and our cultures are very similar. Why can't Poland advocate on behalf of Russia in the EU and NATO forums?
Serbia does this, and it feels f*cking amazing. Like we have brothers on the other side of the Balkans.
Your current prime minister was one of the highest ranking EU officials just recently. He could have articulated to Brussels, Paris, Berlin - the Russian perspective. Whether in the lead up to the war, or during sanctions package negotiations. He had the moral authority and stature, for his voice to be heard.
Instead, it was yet another Pole screaming for Russia to be punished.
Russia knows how to repay friends. If you consistently took a pro-Russian position (but not so far as to jeopardize your relations with others), I think you would notice your gas prices declining suddenly, and Polish businesses being given privileges in our market.
