Ukraine

No religion is banned in Ukraine.

Not yet but they are working on it.

Freedom of Religion Must Prevail in Ukraine, Even as War Drags On, Senior UN Human Rights Official Tells Security Council

"Ilze Brands Kehris, Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights in the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), noting growing tensions between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine...drew attention to the Ukraine Parliament's first-reading approval of draft amendments to the law on religious organizations, which, if adopted, would establish a procedure to dissolve "religious organizations affiliated with influence centres, the management of which is located in a country, which carries out armed aggression against Ukraine"."

a neighbouring country being invaded by a brutal and primitive state is something of great concern.

Don't worry what some journalist or begruntled retired military Generals try to hype you up with jon.
You are safe with the most well trained army in the world up there in Britain to protect you.

jon357
4 Feb 2024  #723

Yes indeed.

And given that r*SSia has been trying to invade a smaller and poorer neighbour for two years without success, they are less of a threat than some fear.

Miloslaw
4 Feb 2024  #724

Indeed they are and weakened by this futile war they will pose even a lesser threat in the future. But the west needs to take notice and arm up now.Because the threat may return.

Why would we be up in arms about some dumb crap to do with the US elections? The sun will still come up in the morning whoever wins.

And why do you think anyone European is a "leftie" ?

You are getting weirder and weirder with some of your comments

He has also said Moscow should unleash a nuclear attack on any country that would attempt to detain Putin over the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in March for alleged war crimes,

Start with the Netherlands.

hy would we be up in arms about some dumb crap to do with the US elections

Some of them here are getting hysterical.

The yanks you meet in real life don't seem as agitated or shoot their mouths off about various candidates.

the west needs to take notice and arm up now

That is certainly happening now.

One reason the r*SSians are so bitter right now is that they tried a 'hybrid warfare' thing recently and it failed miserably. Some of the media is hinting at it however the full details are yet to emerge

US officials have indicated that they intend to starve the Russian arms export industry, encouraging their allies in Europe and globally to buy American weapons instead.

@jon357
I live in Poland. I have family here. I pay taxes here. I have every right to complain about how Z is handling things when they directly effect the community I live in. I also pay taxes in the US, and when my money is paying for a guy who is proving he is incapable of leading toward an end to this war, I have every right to complain. By an end, I mean the only end possible, and that is a negotiated peace. Ukraine will never push Russia out completely.

Meanwhile US senators have introduced a bill that is dead on arrival for funding Ukraine. A stunt by Democrats who control the Senate knowing it will not pass the House and might not even be entered for a vote. The bill after reading it is an absolute joke. But hey Joe Biden sure is one heck of a statesman, and those dems are sure good at spending other peoples money when the vast majority of Americans are against that spending.

5 Feb 2024  #730

How is that the only end possible ?

A complete collapse is equally possible - like in 1917 or 1991. In fact it almost happened a few months ago when Wagner started heading for Moscow.

I love the idea that from an airport jail cell Putler would try and order a nuclear strike LOL - could imagine the voice on the other end "sorry ? Vladimir who ?"

The long-term prospects for Russia's economy is not good, but how long will it take to get bad enough for the people to rise up? I'd be thinking longer than Putin lives.

I love the idea that from an airport jail cell Putler would try and order a nuclear strike

Are prisoners allowed to make international phone calls?

The leader of a criminal organization gets arrested and the 2nd in command takes over. Happens all the time in Italy or South America. Nobody of the ruling elite wants to sacrifice his riches and lifestyle for the current leader. If he cared for the country he wouldn't have gotten this position in the first place.

You can't compare modern Russia to a normal nation. It's more a country ruled by a criminal cartel.

When Z refuses to mobilize 500K men, he is not trying to win the war. Ukraine soldiers have been on the front lines for up to a year before getting a break. More and more are dying and not being replaced. Russia has Ukraine outmanned. So why is Z not mobilizing more soldiers? Why when questioned about it does Z then look to remove the head of the military and other leaders? Something is not right with this picture.

I went to an event in Warsaw at the weekend and noticed how many fighting age Ukrainians were there. Was not a surprise and think they need to go back and do their duty.

On the other hand this doesn't seem to be a war where manpower gives a great advantage against the drones and missiles.

I have seen footage of suicidal Udmurtian missions which are almost like World War I stuff. A few "soldiers" covered by a tank leave cover to try and storm a Ukrainian position, they are quickly picked off by a drone but half an hour later the Udmurtians try the same doomed tactics - A horrible waste of young lives. Why the Udmurtian commanders cannot stand up to Putler is a huge question

jon357
5 Feb 2024  #736

how Z is handling things

Presidential Zelenskyy is certain handling things pretty well given that the entire r·SSian army reinforced by hundreds of thousands of new conscripts and munitions from North Korea and Iran has barely managed to take and hold a few Ukrainian provinces; and this against the Ukrainian army alone, armed with only a limited selection of Western weapons.

You might want to moderate your extreme language. As you know, such crudeness and semi-literate bombast doesn't play well in Europe and merely serves to expose you as a fool.

the other hand this doesn't seem to be a war where manpower gives a great advantage

Very little given that Putler's fascists have been throwing orc meat at the front by the ton with minimal gain.

Presidential Zelenskyy is certain handling things pretty well

Only a brainless moron who doesn't know how to spell "Russia" can fart out something so utterly idiotic. 500,000 dead and crippled Ukrainians just gave this moron the middle finger.

Hey, Englishman, it's certainly...not certain...

You can't compare modern Russia to a normal nation.

Yes, I can. The US illegally invaded Iraq and now is still illegally in Syria and Iraq.

It's more of a country ruled by a criminal cartel.

The US has its own criminal cartel aka the Military Industrial Congressional Complex. Google K-Steet.
The bastards spend close to a trillion a year to defend everybody - including Somalia. The one country they don't protect is the US.

If this sounds preposterous, why the unchecked invasion? Why does the US need tanks and artillery? To fight Guatemala or Canada?

Did you know that the US Congress has a 96% retention rate, and not much lower than the Soviet 99%?

Ukrainians

And t*SSi with its vast army of orc meat, its mobilisations and its weapons still can't take one village they've been trying to encircle for months.

There are some lucky and well fed dogs there.

And t*SSi with its vast army of orc meat, its mobilisations and its weapons still can't take one village

That's Russia's problem. The US, the number one military power, lost in Vietnam and Afghanistan.

My problem is that the US flat broke but still found 100B+ to help kill and maim 500,000 Ukrainians.
Without the US warmongers, this war would not even start, Z and P would meet, U would be neutral, and the life of the average Joe in Kiev would not change one damn bit.

Duh!!!

cms neuf
5 Feb 2024  #741

How is the US flat broke ? There are still plenty of people willing to buy its bonds - me included

Why would Zelensky meat Putler ? He tried to kidnap him, called him a drug addict and has a long record of killing his enemies. They could only meet on neutral ground but Putler is a coward who won't leave his bunker and anyway would be arrested for war crimes.

All of that is his fault - nothing to do with the US

jon357
5 Feb 2024  #742

I doubt that it's possible to reason with Putler.

he wanted Ukraine and was determined to take it, however many tons of orc meat were lost in the process. he has made it very clear that his goal is the eradication of the Ukrainian nation. A goal that he will not achieve.

5 Feb 2024  #743

The life of the average Joe would change! Instead of having nice shops and some ambitions in life, they would have to trudge around the kind of hopeless empty supermarkets that we see in Russell's videos.

And anyway you Udmurtian losers obviously see the average people just as serfs who shouldn't bother their tiny heads about who is in charge. That kind of thinking is the reason that none of you are successful.

Cue some
pictures of fancy cars sitting on the driveway LOL

@jon357
Jon, no one really GAF what you think. Z is an idiot in how is is not mobilizing. Wars are won by men and machines, not pu$$ies who want to try to out move the other guy who has the men and machines. Vlads manpower advantage has allowed him to keep 19% of Ukraine land. Sounds like manpower makes a difference. Maybe you should stick to watching MSNBC. Your opinion and crush on Z is well noted.

@cms neuf
Russia is not suffering. Lets stop that BS. The sanctions only reduced the cost of Russian oil, and Russia has found ways around that. No United States citizen paying real taxes wants this war funded. Money being printed should be spent at home. Simple, just like Poland and every other country does.

Novichok
5 Feb 2024  #745

There are still plenty of people willing to buy its bonds - me included

You just made my point but you are too stupid to know how you did it.

The life of the average Joe would change! Instead of having nice shops

You must be Polish...but since I am a very patient guy ...

Z: Fine. U will never be in NATO and you can keep Crimea.
P: Cool. Please treat Russian minorities in D and L well.
Z: OK.
P: Good. Vodka or scotch?
Biden: No!!! That is unacceptable!!! We need to feed our MICC!!! and I need to look presidential so I want a war somewhere...Hey, Z, how many can you sacrifice?

Since Biden is a gutless pos, Biden sent his British wh*re, BJ, to jumpstart the mayhem...

jon357
5 Feb 2024  #746

is an idiot in how is is not mobilizing

Odd you think that you know more than a Leader who has successfully held off the might of the entire r*SSian army with a minimum of resources.

After all, you're hardly a success story anyone would want to emulate.

allowed him to keep 19% of Ukraine land

And the other 81% of course is what he's failed to take.

Why is 'msnbc'?

o one really GAF what you think

I wouldn't be so sure of that....

And your weak attempts at put downs never work.

Novichok
5 Feb 2024  #747

the might of the entire Russian army

That phrase proves you are an idiot.

And the other 81% of course is what he's failed to take.

He never wanted it because (1) it's just farmland, and (2) it is full of people who don't like Russia.
That's why Russia would never invade Poland and the Baltics - just as the US will never invade Afghanistan.

cms neuf
5 Feb 2024  #748

What do you mean it would never invade Poland ?

They have invaded 6 times - the last time with the help of their Nazi German allies

They have also invaded the Baltics many times

jon357
5 Feb 2024  #749

He never wanted it

He did and does.

He has said so himself.

That's why Russia would never invade Poland and the Baltics

They would of course fail however even a twerp like yourself can't deny they've invaded all of those places and many more within living memory.

Lazarus
5 Feb 2024  #750

They have invaded 6 times

Is it really only six times?!
