@Crnogorac3
Have you looked closely at these photos? I see a washing machine filled with laundry and 15 one-dollar bills stacked in the front. What exactly do you want to suggest to us with these photos? I've had more of my money accidentally laundered before.

...beiing on top and being continously spit at from the sidelines comes in a package!

Russians got tired of this, throughout the Soviet experiment, and in response successfully blew up the Soviet Union.

Everybody had delusions back then. Ukraine expected to become "the second France", because it was Europe's largest country, with a population of 50M people. Russia, thought it would be embraced by the West, and would rapidly become prosperous - freed from the burden of supporting various Cubas, North Koreas, and Bulgarias.

Now, thirty years later - we're putting it back together, piece by piece.

America might be going through something similar.

Unlike Russia and Great Britain, however, America just might be fine without all the tagalongs. That's sort of the uncomfortable truth. America really doesn't need the world, as much as the world needs America. So next time you tell PAK or Novichok to "open their eyes" and "turn on their brains", think about this. America is a beast, in terms of productivity and innovation, and it has the largest and wealthiest consumer market in the world.

Even today, trade is a measly 25% of US GDP. For Germany this number approaches 100%. For China and Russia it's close to 50%.

So next time you tell PAK or Novichok to "open their eyes" and "turn on their brains",

Thank you, Bobko, for this post. Like it or not, you are now officially an American.

It's been my position that the US is self-sustaining but for a few rare metals. We don't need foreign trade, foreign invaders, foreign advice, foreign poets, and anything else - and especially this BS called NATO - the most lopsided "mutual" defense treaty ever...mutual my ass...

I confess that I enjoy being "an ugly American" - arrogant, opinionated, and loud...

@Bobko
Thanks for the mention. I would point out that until the 1960's and early 70's the US was all but self sufficient. It was in the 70's that the Japanese car was really introduced, which nearly destroyed the US auto industry. Before then, GE, Zenith and many, many others produced all the electronics the US needed. While it might take a few years, an isolationist course for the US would be a piece of cake. Some things may initially be more expensive, but that would balance out, and imagine the job creation. Would resemble something like things after WW2. Japan would be fvcked, and so would China, but thats a fair trade off. Europe could go back to buying cheap gas from Russia and be Vlads biatch and toothless kittens. Imagine the end of the globalist socialist movement. Looks pretty good if you ask me.

If the US leaves NATO, it would not surprise me at all if some of what an isolationist policy could bring would happen rather quickly. No one is talking about the Nordstream investigation coming to an end now. No fingers being pointed. We know it was either the US or someone connected to the US. First you have the motive, and there are very few countries that would have the means to pull that off. Russia sure didnt do it to themselves.

destroyed by agents

They've certainly had a role in this.

Some interesting news about the r*SSian economy. Some of the silly comments about sanctions not being effective and their economy growing are of course misleading. Any spike is due to their 'war economy' that isn't sustainable. And their inflation is high with the true rate higher than they admit.

We know it was either the US or someone connected to the US.

Hmmm...you sure? The last I read everything points to Ukraine!

First you have the motive

Which motive would the US have?

Novichok
26 Feb 2024  #2058

Which motive would the US have?

1. Russia cannot sell gas to the EU.
2. The EU must buy gas from the US.

A twofer or better...

@Novichok
Thank you.

Ukraine does not have the technology to get so deep onto the ocean floor. Very few do. And that early on, one of the points of discussion was the use of cheap Russian gas and needing to break from it. No better way to make that happen than to blow it up.

USians on the "Andromeda"?

....However, German investigators are still not ruling out any scenario for the attack. For several months they have been following the hot trail of the approximately 15 meter long "Andromeda" - and continue to do so. The ship is said to have initially sailed from Rostock to Rügen. The people are said to have presented forged passports to the boat rental company. The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) later discovered traces of explosives on the yacht.

Just a few months before the explosions on the Baltic Sea pipelines, the Dutch military intelligence service MIVD had warned of just such a scenario: The spies had apparently learned of a plan to attack the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. Ukrainians, according to explosive information from June 2022, were allegedly planning to rent a boat in order to carry out an attack on the natural gas pipes.

The tip from the Netherlands is said to have initially ended up with the US secret service CIA, which in turn informed European partner services, including the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) - but with the assessment that such an attack plan seemed unlikely to be credible.

However, after the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, the Dutch military intelligence service reported again: the attack was ultimately said to have been carried out by Ukrainians, probably using a boat that was said to have been rented on the German Baltic Sea coast. ARD and "Zeit", among others, reported on this . And so the German investigators from the BKA and Federal Police actually came across the "Andromeda"....

www-tagesschau-de.translate.goog/investigativ/nordstream-sabotage-andromeda-polen-100.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp

Frankly, I see a much bigger ukrainian motive here...

...The traces quickly led the investigators towards Ukraine. This is politically quite sensitive given the close cooperation against the Russian aggressor. For a long time, the Germans held back from making official requests for legal assistance. With Warsaw, they ventured ahead for the first time: German and Polish investigators met in Poland in mid-May, and the BKA is now said to have launched a European investigation order.

For example, German officials are interested in the background of a dubious company based in Warsaw. The "Andromeda" is said to have been rented through the alleged travel agency "Feeria Lwowa". The company is apparently a classic letterbox company. A few days ago, the business premises in Warsaw were said to have been searched, according to security circles. There is no official confirmation of this.

The exchange with Ukraine could become more complicated. In fact, according to research, the German authorities believe that the suspect is a Ukrainian national: a man in his mid-20s from a city southeast of Kiev. He is said to have previously served in an infantry unit. In order to compare his DNA, German investigators are said to have visited a woman in Frankfurt/Oder at the end of May - she is said to have a child with the Ukrainian......

So many investigators are involved, but there is still absolutely no trace of any USians!

to get so deep onto the ocean floor.

The Baltic Sea is a puddle, not a sea, and certainly not an ocean.

According to Wikipedia, the average depth of the Baltic Sea is 52.3 meters, or about 180 ft. Large areas of the Baltic have a depth of 30ft or less.

I have a pretty pedestrian scuba certificate, but even I am allowed to go to 180 ft with the proper gas mix. You don't have to be a commercial tech diver to attempt those depths.

Any spike is due to their 'war economy' that isn't sustainable

Now, Professor Jon, you are explaining to me the effect of Military Keynesianism and specifically how fiscal stimulus can drive an economy upwards - but potentially only in the short term?

What happened to "The Rouble has Turned to Rubble!", and "Enjoy Eating Rotten Sprats"?

I sense a significant moving of goal posts over the last two years.

Due to the remembrance of 2 years of the invasion and the killing of Navalny Russia faces an additional 500 sanctions from the US, to quote "the sanctions will target individuals connected to Navalny's imprisonment as well as Russia's financial sector, defense industrial base, procurement networks and sanctions evaders across multiple continents."

They will also "ensure Putin pays an even steeper price for his aggression abroad and repression at home," Biden said.

Slovakia: Several Western countries are considering deploying soldiers to Ukraine

...Bratislava: Sending Western soldiers to Ukraine is "being considered"

8.40 p.m.: Populist Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has claimed that individual Western countries are considering sending their soldiers to Ukraine. "Several NATO and EU member states are considering sending their soldiers to the territory of Ukraine on a bilateral level," Fico said on Monday after a cabinet meeting in Bratislava. Such agreements would be agreed "probably soon," he added.

Fico, who has been in office since the fall, spoke of "confidential information" and warned of an "enormous escalation of tensions." The populist head of government rejects Ukraine joining NATO, military aid for the country and sanctions against Russia .

Fico made the comments before his departure for an international Ukraine conference in Paris, which discussed increasing aid to the country. He criticized the meeting as a "fighting meeting" where there were no plans for peace. "All they want is for the killing to continue," Fico said.

That I did not know.

The Baltic Sea was a lake during the last Ice Age. See image below.

Most of the land was under a kilometers thick ice sheet.

Now that the ice is removed, the land is slowly rising back from the crust to its normal level. This makes the puddle that is the Baltic Sea smaller and smaller. Geologists call this process isostatic rebound.

Here is the Wiki article:
