What will happen in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, if the escalation ladder is properly controlled, is pretty much clear: a couple of more years of fighting (the USA will decide how many more), then a negotiated peace, and then NATO troops (mostly Polish) on the demarcation line, guarding the demilitarized zone.
However, this...
If Trump says the money is cut off (...) the war will be over quickly.
... is also a possibility for a number of reasons.
The most important conflict that will shape the future world is definitely the American-Chinese one. All the rest are kindergarten brawls. In this conflict China seems to be holding most of the trump (hmm...) cards; they have higher GDP (PPP), larger industrial base, more capital, and population of 1.4 billion - the situation is exactly reverse to previous American wars where it was the USA who had advantage in all those fields.
So, before the war in Ukraine, the biggest Polish fear was the "Reverse Kissinger", where America allies herself to Russia against China, for which Russia receives a modest remuneration of Eastern and Central Europe. Logically, back then, there was no reason why America shouldn't have done that. The conflict in Ukraine delayed this scenario, but is it still possible? I wonder. Russian elites seem to be thinking that China is going to win, but the problem is that Russia cannot very well ally herself to China long-term if she dreams of being something else in the future than a Chinese semi-vassal, so who knows... a very complicated middle game with a lot of tactics possible.
for this war to continue
War? Has anyone declared war on anybody? Has anyone broken diplomatic relations with anyone? Has anyone properly mobilised? etc.
*sighs* A sad theatre for retards rather than a war, but I understand that "Sad Theatre For Retards" is not a very catchy name, so let's stick with Special Military Operation (or just call it a conflict).
Almost anyone that wanted to fight to the death for an Ukraine separate from Russia, is now... dead.
Hmm... perhaps a statement somewhat premature. And it would be honest to mention that your army that started the war two years ago is also pretty much dead; those who were in the first wave of invasion, then a lot of the reserves, the boys from Królewiec slaughtered too. Totally unnecessary affair.
