There is one small subtlety. In this area, and a couple of neighboring ones, with quite similar climate, there are those large gas deposits, which for a long time made German industry competitive not only in terms of puffed up cheeks, but also in terms of price. ;) Now they don't, because the Germans have been forbidden to buy cheaper piped Russian gas by their masters. ;) The masters themselves buy it even more than before, only liquefied, it is extracted further north.

But... Still almost no indoor plumbing there. How to live with that?

We had a deal with Russia - cheap energy for European industry in exchange for economic and political aid against China in the inevitable Russian-Chinese conflict, and in the future much closer cooperation in a huge alliance of Europe from Lisbon to Vladivostok which would ensure optimal conditions for both European and Russian development, growth and well-being. It worked rather well, when - all of a sudden - Putin decided that he is the incarnation of Peter the Great, invaded Ukraine, threatened the Baltics and Poland, keeps flooding the EU with third world immigrants and - through his court retards - even threatens the nuclear war. WTF? How come they haven't put him in спецпсихушка yet is beyond me.

Russia could have had it all with Europe and now they can only sh*t BRICS (pun intended). :(

Hungary should be asked if they wish to leave NATO - far simpler than leaving the EU. They could have a referendum and leave in less than 6 months. No problem for the rest of the alliance - at the moment they are clearly not committed

The reality is, if Ukraine was losing, Ukraine would be desperate for negotiations and would have agreed to be defenseless, give up territory and worship Stalin as RU demanded. Wen Japan was losing WW2, they tried many times to negotiate surrender with US but USA was pressuring for unconditional surrender.
