In one picture beds in a field hospital in Czechia, in the second beds at the National stadium. Two billion zloties spent on (Polish state TV controlled by PiS) 70 milion for "Sasin's election" and we have.... hospital beds (that look like) gifts for flood victims from the 1970s. The end of the PiS government ever closer..

Riad Haider was saying yesterday that small cottage hospitals in rural Poland that maybe have one ventilator for the whole place have been told to prepare themselves for Covid admissions.

I think there is a small number of movers and shakers behind this and that there is more to it all than meets the eye.

Remember back four years or so when I brought up Agenda 21 ?
Remember how it was referred to as stacked housing yet no one wanted to take it a step further on world population reduction ?
Making Independence Illegal in short which the virus has done.

polanda.com/off-topic/presidential-elections-76961/31/#msg1539549

And here we are going into 2021 with all those conspiracy theories about Agenda 21 coming true.
So who are the Bilderburgs ?
Can anyone name ten of them besides Bill Gates and the Rothchild's ?

I think they change every year don't they.

The last time I looked one of them was the Mayor of Porto

Strange that flu cases are down 98%

flu cases are down 98%

isn't it.... there are theories that the two don't co-exist (which I don't pretend to understand....)

Yuvsdinho reported in the media that the United States is trying to increase its "biological presence" outside its territory, including in the former Soviet Republic. Moscow has learned that Washington provides Georgia with an opportunity to expand the scope of biological research projects in the country's laboratory in the United States called Lugar Labs. The United States may be studying materials that cause dangerous diseases.

16300 cases today, rumour is that full blown lock down is coming next week,I wonder if the protest has to do something with this spike in cases.

It will take two weeks for the inevitable effects on virus spread from the protests to show up in the stats.

small cottage hospitals in rural Poland that maybe have one ventilator for the whole place

Hopefully all those open source ventilators that were invented in poland and overseas during first wave can now be produced on mass.

Yes, the same as in March. Thank you, PiS.

AFTER the world and his wife have gone all over the country for the 1st November grave visiting.

I'm not sure another full lockdown makes much sense unless it is with a clear strategy for bolstering the health service and exiting the lockdown. What will we gain ? Most people are socially distancing and most kids are off school, pubs, gyms etc are ****. Is stopping people going outside really going to help ?

Financial support has been announced and its basically nothing - will be targeted at maybe 500k jobs. That's OK but those small firms don't invest much normally, so long term this lockdown is a still going to be very harmful.

Most people are socially distancing

Are they?? Where I am in Warsaw, everybody is carrying on as usual, as far as I can see. Trams are still busy, stupid signs on the windows saying keep a distance of 1.5m, only half seats to be occupied blah, blah. No chance of that, just not happening.

My husband had to go for a medical appointment last week and he was asked to sign a declaration that they'd taken his temperature before allowing him entry - they didn't actually take the temperature!! Pure PRL stuff, we have to have the paperwork that says we followed procedures/regulations even though we didn't actually follow them. In theory, everything possible is being done to contain the virus, in reality, nothing is being done.

I went to damian on Walbrzyska and they just ask you if you to fill a form if you were in contact of any covid patient but check the temperature through a camera installed on the door and the security person will just scribble the temperature on that form before you go to reception

everybody is carrying on as usual, as far as I can see.

Exactly, same in supermarkets and yes MOST are using masks, not uncommon to see people without masks and masks under the nose just covering the mouth.

Atch, you should call it Mrożek stuff - he mocked certain traits of the Polish character in a universal dimension. So, I wouldn`t ascribe it to rightards this time, this is pure Polishness, get used to it. hahahaha

Probably more than two weeks. It will only show up in the stats when people manage to get a test, and they test positive

Infection numbers, so what. People are too smart now. We all know that unless you have an underlying condition, and are much older than the vast majority of protestors, the virus will make you sick for a few days in most cases, or you wont have any symptoms. So, clamping down with another full lock down isn't going to work, and I am betting people dont fall in line with it. Want protests to escalate, try a lockdown. Thats my theory.

Want protests to escalate, try a lockdown. Thats my theory.

Already the protests break rightard "law" coz they decreed that groups more than 5 are illegal. But protesters have it in their asses.

In shops Atch I see probably 99 percent wearing a mask. On tram maybe 90 percent

I think people are trying their best to distance but I'm outside Warsaw

In the village it's much less

I am fine with the mask but I'm not going to obey a full stay-inside lockdown. I still will exercise and take the kids out. If I get fined then such is life.

I'm not going to the cemetery on Sunday but I will go maybe tomorrow when it's quiet

Ambulances wait up to 12 hours to have their patient admitted to a hospital. Or they drive 100 - 300 kilometres when they get info about a vacancy.

Thank you, PiS, for further ruining the health care system during your rule since 2015 and not preparing emergency solutions after the first wave in 2020. Thank you so much. I hope one day you will answer for it in free Poland.

Little of it good.

Ambulances wait up to 12 hours to have their patient admitted to a hospital

Warsaw hospitals have been refusing non-covid patients for a while.

Did you go into the mode of seeing pics only???? I also typed a few sentences above it. Unblock your sight and read the first two. Yes, I know the principle about one photo worth thousands of words - but you shouldn`t only depend on it - reading is also good.

I agree they should have been much better prepared. Other than that I'm not sure whether the 300km stuff is true - sounds unlikely.

Aren't death rates in all countries roughly similar at the moment ? I can't face another few months of arguing about population density but isn't the Polish rate around 2 percent just like our neighbors

What I want to know is what is the way forward ? Lockdowns ? Temporary hospitals ? Etc

mafketis
28 Oct 2020  #3537

Aren't death rates in all countries roughly similar at the moment ?

The ratio of discovered cases and fatalities is nowhere near to March-April (if they were the daily death toll in France and Italy and Poland would be measured in the thousands instead of 200 or so), that's good in that fewer people are dying, but it's bad in that it means that hospitals are over-burdened...

Also some small bit of good news is that hospitalizations and ventilator usage in Poland are not increasing exponentially but at a fairly steady rate but given the weakened state of Polish healthcare after 5 years of PiS that's still putting too much pressure.

It's totally clear the Polish government has been sitting on its @ss and arguing about petty intra-party bvllsh]t since June instead of doing their job working out plans for a possible second wave.... incompetent bunglers through and through.

The numbers are rising everywhere, so much so that Germany decided just the next Lockdown starting next Monday...

I don't think you can put anything what happens now on any gov's do's or don'ts! They tried, but the people don't comply as much as they should...the virus will run its course, and till we have a real vaccine it won't be stopped, we have to accept that. *shrugs*

German experts don't expect the "real thing" before the second or third quarter next year...

cms neuf
28 Oct 2020  #3539

Yes exactly - but not just PiS - Poland in general has got into the habit of taking all of August off since it got richer.

People in all areas of govt both local and national could have used that month to clear backlogs and prepare for this.

mafketis
28 Oct 2020  #3540

The numbers are rising everywhere

not of fatalities though, go to google, type in "covid stats Germany october" and compare the new cases rates (thousands daily) vs daily fatality rates (hovering around 50 a day)

A lockdown is not in the interest of public health but in narrow economic interests of the tech and financial giants who have profited from covid...
