Haha... the famous "Bielefeldverschwörung". Yes, I've heard about it.

On a side note. There exists a theory in Poland that the name may come from the ancient Slavic language in which it was originally "Białe Pole". The last part of the name got translated into German, but the first part retained its transformed original Slavic term which meant white (weiß). A theory not without ground as the Slavic origin of the nearby name of the town of Soest seems to be well attested in the Arabic sources of the 10th century (read my post #458 in the thread linked below for the story).

With the potential for many thousands of Polish due to return to Poland for Easter, and with the threat of contamination will there be sufficient resources to check everyone on their return and indeed will everyone honour the 14 day quarantine? It is also worrying that people will be free to use public transport to return home to be quarantined...not sure if bus drivers etc will be happy with this.

Let's hope that zdrowy chłopski rozum takes hold and they decide to stay put.... I can understand helping stranded travelers out but people that are living somewhere else should stay were they are for a while...

Ryan Air, quite popular with Poles, has cancelled all flights from the UK to Poland.

Well probably a little impractical, but if I worked for the government I would probably consider it prudent and worth the money to arrange for transport to be provided....coaches etc, given that the virus is rather contagious and that there is no known vaccine. Not sure how much it would cost to provide transport for this particular group of people but I don't think it would break the bank and may just stem the likelyhood of further contamination. Just think of the plus points the PIS could gain from doing this....

I don't want to get too excited....even if they already "have it" the testing just needs it's time!

So I can see that Germany wants to get financial benefits from this mass media hysteria. I'm not against it. Stupid people will drain their pockets to pay for this "cure" and will press their politicials to buy it in bulk. Poland should start producing its own medicine: idiotcetamol which battles any flu in 7 days and sell it to Germany ;-)

So what exactly EU done for anyone? Greece has to deal with their border issues themslefses. Some goes for reaction to the virus. Italy on her own. I mean it exposés empty EU existence, that cost a lot. Who the hell need those costly a-holes in Brussels if they are not any good if a REAL problem arise.
