Coronavirus in Poland

People got fined for washing their cars, or for getting their tyres changed. A friend got fined for riding 'too far away from home' as well!

Got to pay for this economic shield somehow. Maybe some 500 plus for being a Polish citizen that's breathing will be the next social welfare program.

Well, as much as I read about fining people for silly things, it hasn't really happened to anyone I know.
And seriously, if making people stay at home more will help, I see no problem.

The same. A friend walked though śródmieście today for exercise. It was deserted on Nowy Świat, only police and a few military around. Nobody stopped him though, and nobody is being stopped round here in the suburbs if they go for a walk or to the shop.

Well, cap covering entire face. At least its far better protection against Corona then hijab what we are all forced to use these days. Arabs must be laughing when see how even European man using hijab.

The basic face mask protects others from you.
Not you from others.
They need to be changed regularly, preferably more than once a day.
They need to be disposed of safely and you need to vigorously wash your hands.
They are irritating and people wearing them will touch their faces several times every hour..... not good.
If they become available to all, the Health service will struggle to get enough.
Facemasks for the general public?
Waste of time and counter productive.

They make you look like a moron.

OK it might be sensible to wear them in a shop or on the tram ( though there is no deep science or no academic proof of that yet and I will be interested to see results in the future). No point in wearing them just walking in the street - if anything they are more unhygienic and they definitely make breathing difficult when you are exercising.

Of course there is a problem fining people for things that are not even officially crimes - it is outrageous and the level of the fines, sometimes equal to a few months wages is completely disproportionate

4 more dining establishments up for sale in last 24 hours here. A lot more empty commercial properties. Yesterday in Galleria Kazimierz Mole Hole books look to be packing it up and moving out. Friend says other stores are simply closing up shop.

No, they just heard my warning that it don`t have to look like hijab. First I say and then they become creative.

Thankfully I see first people wearing fun masks - jokers, Batman, the KKK mask above, a few zombies. By next week there will be lots of cool masks on the street. I want to get one of those samurai masks but they take a long time to arrive !

I am just wearing a black bandana and I am going to keep wearing it in airports, gas stations and banks once this has finished. If it's essential now then they can't complain about it in future.

No, but expect EU regulations in direction that it must be hijab or at least to look as hijab, without any improvisation.

Yes I am sure that will be the next law that PiS pull out of their ass to scare people and create opportunities for stupid fines - it has to be a regulation white one, available from the Pewex or from Orlen.

I don't believe they can or will legislate masks. People with asthma and other breathing disorders can not wear these masks for any length of time. A one size fits all mentality is what will kill more people. A suggestion that masks be worn in these close quarters is probably whats coming. Particularly in Poland when so many have breathing disorders from years of inhaling coal dust and smog.

All I have to say is that moaning about wearing masks or not being able to get chips and beer is not very manly.
Just grow a pair and learn some self discipline.
Nobody locks you up in your house on bread and water.
I have just read about the data for NYC and I bet those who died weren't exactly enjoying their personal liberties when they were dying.

I have never been stopped by the police on my way to the shops or simply walking.
They want me to wear gloves when I enter a shop or wear a mask or a scarf over my face I can do it, though I hate it.

And it feels kind of weird when I enter a shop wearing shades and a mask and looking like a robber but I don't moan about it.

This is what becoming trend in Serbia > Its now combined with half-mask but experts says transparent visor is quite enough for Corona. Idea is ti use just transparent visor because it covers even eyes and its proved that virus may travel via eyes, too.



One of these days I will have such a visor, without any half-mask. It will also secure that females can continue to look at my nice face and notice all my signals.

Yes I understand it is a painful death. The question is whether or not wearing masks in the streets or in a car park helps - scant evidence that it does. It's possible, even likely that they help in an indoor setting. In fact a few weeks ago the govt told us it was useless, now it is apparently essential.

And yes I have personally been told by the police to put my mask up - two days ago, sitting on a bench next to a church eating a snickers with my son during a break in a cycle ride. I was polite and put it on when I had finished.

They have possibly made the problem worse because now I see people wearing masks but starting to go out in groups and not distancing.

Some rules may be a nuisance but honestly I think the real problem will arise if we run out of medical equipment.
The masks are said not to protect the person who's wearing it but actually protect others from that person in case they're infected and not aware of it.

So if that helps reduce the number of cases and bring back 'normal life ' sooner, I can endure it.

But they are not putting any timetable around returning to normal life. I can endure pointless laws for a few weeks but not indefinitely and most people are the same.

The population needs to breed, that's what springtime is for - in fact that has been PiS flagship policy for 5 years to encourage people to have kids. Now we are going to have a massive boom followed by a huge dip as young people can not meet each other, can not catch each other's eye in a mask, cannot flash a smile at the tram stop and ask for a date, cannot go for a date, cannot get married. Another collateral effect of this insanity.

They wont put a time table on it because they need to control the election May 10th. This is no longer about safety. The ministry has said yesterday that transmission among people is flat and lowering with the exception of small clusters in homes, hospitals and care centers.

The masks are nothing more than control mechanisms. Not one person I know in the cities I work in, has first hand knowledge of anyone they know actually being infected. I spoke to the first person I know in USA yesterday who tested positive for COVID and recovered without hospitalization, in Detroit, one of the hot beds.

Fear is another great control mechanism. Everyone fears what they cant see, smell, touch, or taste. By depriving the senses, and placing another control mechanism on top of the fear, like a mask, you have a nice layer of control. Yet, Police are still cruising around in vans of four officers, two in each car, and the legislature is in close contact all the time, only recently wearing masks.

No longer buying into mass pandemic fear mongering. The numbers simply don't support these restrictions for much longer.

They want to push it through now because they're afraid that Duda would crack if elections are delayed and there's something like a real campaign... he's not strong enough mentally.

We could split humanity into normal people and pro-epidemic idiots, and resettle the later somewhere where they could keep up infecting one another for the entirety of their lives, without impending the lives of the rest of us.

Then you have Civil War. And war if somebody decide to intervene from outside.

We could do that - the pro epidemic group would lose a few souls but after 6 months they would be working, earning money, building house and having babies while the "normal people" are still eating paprykarz and doing yoga on zoom (and wondering why their boss stopped contacting them)

In New York they tried a program called, "If you see something, say something" to get people to snitch social distancing violators by texting a picture of said crime to the special number set up by the authorities.

The police immediately start getting responses of middle fingers, dicks, pictures of Hitler and someone getting a blow job in an alley instead.


I agree, I don't care about the self centered jerk that refuses to show me no respect by not wearing a mask and puts my life in jeopardy, I care about the people who show me respect by wearing one.

I have lost count how many I have bashed into in the grocery store when they don't have a mask on and refuse to respect my six feet social distancing.

They have never been taught responsibility or accountability that have consequences when you have no manners.
Trust me, when Civil Disobedience kicks in these crop failures will be the first ones to be deleted.

Not wearing a mask is the result of 3 generations of liberal correctness ? really ?

How about it is a response to the official view of the Polish health minister in February that wearing a mask is useless. Can he explain why he has changed his mind ? As it is compliance is dropping by the hour - especially when you are outside.

In a shop I don't mind wearing one for a few weeks but not for ever.
