What do you think the Democrats are doing to Trump in America ?
The same thing as they have done nothing to help the people and are keeping things shut down so the economy is in ruins by election time in November.

These politicians in desperation will destroy their country to gain power.
There are a lot of people out there that would like to see America fail but if we go down, the world goes down.
And don't think the people don't know what is going on just like Poland does.
Only difference is that gun sales are up 800% here in the United States.
Once these people start suffering financial and emotional ruins and are forced to the soup lines things are going to get real nasty.

Funny you say that. I just had a conversation this morning with a friend and said if the USA isn't open for business soon, people will take to the streets and it wont be to just protest. Soon you will see people just opening their business back up and disobeying these orders. It wont take much longer. I think all governments know that there is only so much people will take. The difference between Poland and USA in the case is in USA a lot more people have guns and the Police know it too. Soon they will be forced into attacking their neighbors by trying to shut their business in order with political rules, or looking the other way because they know people need to work and eat too. Hard choices are not far away.

I call bvllsh|t.... there's no way the whole economy needs to be shut down for this very undangerous illness... your beloved R0 rate is declining just about every European country (are the figures the irish government gives out on a 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 or 15 day infectious range? (the rates change somewhat in most countries)

Exactly. It's been steadily declining in Poland too, although the government hasn't made clear whether they're differentiating between the general population and the clusters. The R0 is different for each but regardless, PIS is spouting rubbish. My belief is that they want to keep the 'epidemic' vibe going until they get Duda re-elected. Then they'll reopen the economy pretty quickly. The disaster of nursing home/residential care clusters will be largely ignored/mismanaged and they'll just let the old people/disabled die in their droves and fudge the numbers. They'll probably make some effort to sort out care settings where children are living because abuse or wilful neglect of children always causes an outcry in the developed world.


Every day they give the number of confirmed cases, the number of deaths, the median age of deaths, the number of cases in hospital, the number of cases in ICU, the number on ventilators, the number of vacant beds in the country, the number of vacant ICU beds, the number recovered, the number of test results awaiting verification and the R0 number. They also give the number of clusters broken down by type of setting. 14 days is the incubation period according the Health Service Executive of Ireland.

Talk about keeping the borders closed beyond mid May is absolutely crazy. Now that it looks like other non essential shops will be able to reopen in about 2 or 3 weeks, you will see things accelerate after that. Just long enough to control the political environment. Speaking to another friend here who owns a travel agency today, he said once things open up here it will be a 4 to 6 week delay before people outside of neighboring countries will come to Poland. That kind of delay will absolutely have more business operations closing up. The small business owners with small shops are getting crushed.

Imagine the people who have these little craft business, how they got hurt with no Easter markets around the country? When this comes back in winter, what about Christmas markets? Will there be another rush to shut down the country? I dont think so. I think next time, its masks in public and every man for himself in most countries.

And in reality that will be extended month by month for the next 18 months until we get a vaccine.
The World Health Organization is warning that people who have had the China virus are not necessarily immune by the presence of antibodies from getting the virus again.

This means that more people will die in round two then did in round one because the self centered self serving will spread this without concern or respect for others.

Mass transportation (planes, trains and subways) makes it impossible to social distance in the big cities and that will be the dilemma of the spread.

The "peak" expected by a minister that is pushing PiS election agenda. When experts around the world are saying the USA, particularly NYC is in or past peak? How could Poland's "peak" still be so far away when we had it before NYC? Enough of the fear mongering. People simply need to be careful.

The experts are saying now that the Chinese knew that this virus was going to devastate their country and economy. Instead of trying to contain the virus they decided to spread it around the world, so they wouldn't suffer the economic disaster alone.

It seem like an act of war against the world. They could have stopped the flights, but used the w.h.o. that is in their back pocket to cover for them.

Which experts ? The same ones that Dettol Donald has been listening to ?

I think you hit it on the head. You prefer to self sacrifice. That's honorable. But if I own a small business, and I want to go back to work, and I am healthy, not forcing other employees to work, but healthy adults who want to return to work should be able to make that choice themselves.

Protective measures, when action is taken at appropriate times are great. All world leaders did nothing even when they knew this was coming. They waited till it hit and then reacted. How long should a persons rights, and liberty be taken from them because his government initially failed to protect him?

Have you seen all the hoops a company has to go through to get some of this shield money? All of the "qualifications"?

China should be held accountable. Then again, any politician that knew this was coming should also be held accountable.

That explains why Germany was more prepared then the rest of the countries in the E.U.

I agree....that article is about China wanting to get a better PR from Germany AFTER the sh*it hit the fan....I doubt we got some beforehand info!

The voices inside the german government who thought that virus "no worse than the flu" had been marginal and short lived from the beginning, compared to Britain and the US.

China should answer for what they did; what was reported already, about misinformation, covering up, false data etc. is enough to hold them accountable, and there may be more to it!

In any case, the bulk of European production in China must return to Europe - we rely on them too much.

I find the argument of whether or not government leaders acted fast enough to be foolish. Nobody, including scientists, had any real idea of how damaging this virus would be when it emerged. They only knew it was different.

It's still hard to tell whether shutting down everything is the right thing to have done, IMO (maybe it was, maybe it wasn't). Look at Sweden, they didn't shut down, yet their infection and mortality rates are not exorbitant compared to the rest of the West--some countries fared better than Sweden, some worse.

I see that in Florida it would seem that isolation is over....lots of people sunbathing, swimming...everything has returned to normal it seems....I guess the virus is over !...remarkable turnaround...and with virus cases so low in USA with deaths so low also....great to see that there is a country willing to take on the virus and beat it.....how lucky we are to have such a responsible mentor for the rest of the world.....

Lets not forget were dealing with a Communist Chinese government. They dont care at all about human rights or the planet, just themselves.

There is vacccine and medication but I never had the Flu myself so I'm not an expert....and I don't remember our health system being overwhelmed with Flu sick or medical personal and nurses dying from it or our old care homes becoming mass graves from it...so...

Old and sick people die...you are correct....but there ist dying and there is dying. It's like people die anyhow also in peace...and then there is a full blown out war...it's like comparing the dead people in war and peace times and just shrug and wonder where the difference is.

But there is a difference, right?

I had Swine Flu when there was an epidemic about a decade ago. It is not something that I'd ever want to repeat.


A massive difference to any country's resources if it all happened at once, hence the lockdown to delay and manage the progress. There is no country on earth that could handle so many people getting seriously sick at the same time.
