Just like that guy who managed to go on skiing holiday abroad not even realising he was sick.
Apparently feeling healthy enough to ski.

People skiing in Europe and travelling around were probably the main cause of the spread of this virus....the trouble was that in the UK these holidaymakers were not checked on their return.....this is what led to the spread of the virus....

Travelling is so incredibly superficial and degenerate, I can't even find proper ways to describe how much it disgusts me. Let alone, just consider for a second when in the history of mankind was such an extremely wasteful privileged experience even possible in the first place?

Then you annoy people for a few days in a foreign country that hate your touristy guts for good reason basically being the same ashole you are at home, expecting a degenerate tourist experience, or if you are the special kind of ashole, an "authentic experience". And after you lit the money on fire, paying a premium for sh!t you could have cheaply have had at home. Wasting the money that you worked your hours, days and weeks in the wage cage off to have one or two weeks of respite instead of, I don't know, work less in the first place? Make your life at home way more comfy instead? Anything that would have been exponentially better for the price?

No one in the history of ever "expanded their horizons" travelling. And those who did already had solid grounding and knew the names of their immediate neighbors and were usually some kind of scholar or could at least take something useful out an experience. And those did not just stay a few weeks or months in the country they actually wanted to properly experience which you can't by just being there a weeks, not even a few months will have any impact, really. And you must have some seriously good reason to abandon your real community, anyway.

I dunno - sun tan, some local wine, look at some paintings, eat some ice cream and admire the local girls. Can't wait to be superficial in Italy again

You mean like the Politics being played with a pandemic? In Poland and the USA? Spain, some seafood, sangria and tropical breezes sounding pretty nice.

Just because you can't afford the Greyhound/PKS bus to leave your town and have a day of sightseeing. don't take it out on normal people that like to see new things.

EU says most travel restrictions to be gone by June 15. Friend of mine is flying to the States on the 24th. Some flights returning pretty quickly now.

The hairdresser's will be opened from Monday.
Bars and restaurants, too.
Grades 1-3 from the 25th - care not classes, I believe.
I'm planning to call my hairdresser tomorrow and hoping for an appointment quicker than July ;)

Flights may be gearing up to return quickly but with a two week quarantine on arrival in the UK and possibly other european countries people are going to have to find an extra few weeks holiday leave to travel....and of course few people just don't have the extra holiday leave that would be needed.....so it could be difficult. Wiz Air are restructuring their business insisting on passengers wearing masks and temperature checks at airports.....Ryan Air are following this approach as well.....not sure what other carriers are doing...

I imagine they'll cut the ZUS care allowance at that time as well. It's an interesting situation for the government - people don't want to send kids back, but if they're forced to do so, they're going to be in a rage. Then again, they might just keep paying it - what's 6 more weeks of ZUS payments when you've got an election to win that might decide the next 30-50 years in politics?

There wont be two week quarantines much longer. Temperature checks before boarding, after landing, masks, and precautions like no middle seating. Delta is implementing some of this in USA as well. The EU can not afford to see tourism dollars disappear. Airlines cant afford to stay idle, and country's cant afford to not collect taxes. Rock meet hard place....something will give before too long and people will simply take their chances.

Middle seats may well be occupied. EU transport chief Adina Valean told journalists that "we are not recommending right now specifically to have empty seats in airplanes. Because we know aircraft have certain features like hospital-grade air filtering."

It will make traveling with kids VERY difficult and risky TBH. Any sniffles and you are out. Trying to get a 3 year old to wear a mask for few hours? Even the seat in the middle being empty means that both parents cannot seat right next to the kid

As far as I know Ryanair said they are not leaving the middle seat free

The Polish borders will remain closed to foreigners until12 June and it's worth noting that the transmission rate in Poland is not falling at all so it's bound to go up significantly once the borders reopen. Keeping the borders closed is a quick ix, easy option to try and keep the virus under control in the absence of proper management. Testing is very minimal so nobody knows the real number infected. I suppose basically a lot of older people will continue dying and nursing homes will be in a shocking state but people like Spike won't care of course, as long as they can go to the lakes and have their 'grill' this summer.

It looks like poland will join the baltic travel bubble. so there wil be some travelling this year.

Completely untrue. Ministry said last night the transmission rate was less than 1 to 1. Meaning that with the exception of coal mines now, that lateral transmission is pretty much over. It is exactly why pubs, restaurants, hair salons and other places will be open on Monday. Flights out of Poland are already scheduled for the 24th. Katowice airport already scheduled to be open.

Sure testing wasnt broad enough, and many of us had it and didnt know it. But the vast majority survived it and its time for life to move forward.

Here it's a bit over one (probably due to the mines) but the vast majority of new Silesian cases are either asymptomatic (or very mild symptoms)

But the death rate is still very low (when was the last day it was over 30?) It's been below 20 on a few days. It might be under reported but there's no sure way to tell. One clue would be to compare April 2019 and April 2020 death rates and see if there's a jump...

The hospitalization rate is also very important but that's not been widely reported but here it's pretty flat... down to the 2500s after peaking at just over 3000 a couple of weaks ago...

I agree the numbers are probably higher but its obvious the situation is not the same as in Western Europe.

Its not only about having grills (though I cant wait !) but also about getting our businesses running again - we have to put food on the table and if you have your own business then you basically have zero support from the govt.

I'm a bit nervous about going on a plane though - will wait a few months and see what it looks like. The LOT experience always involves standing cheek to cheek with other people on those awful buses from the terminal to the plane. Sometimes you wait there jammed in like sardines for 10-15 minutes

There have been almost 10 flights going out of Warsaw airport and coming in every day,bringing in citizens and taking people out.There have been over 10 flights to the States and back,in fact tomorrow one is scheduled to Chicago and on 16th one to JFK .No hot food and the flight attendants just sit in there cabin with hazmat suits for emergency only.Every flight has over 150 people.


Yes,I wish them luck as for some the business is over until they can survive minimum of 6 months esp in the service industry.My friend who sold furniture from China has already given up over 30 containers in Hamburg and warehouse space in Warsaw.It will be like starting from a scratch he says and might take years to be at that level again.

Agree, but without a proper plan in place - and I doubt there is one, you risk a rise in infection once you lift restrictions and then another lockdown as a consequence.


Well, I'm afraid they're telling a big old fib. The day before yesterday it was at 1.17 and that's what they were admitting to. Who knows what it is in reality.

I was in small business,the biggest punch is closure.We had to abide by the ATF(Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms) and ABC(Alcohol and Beverage Comission) rules or they could shut us down for very important holidays like thx giving,July 4,X-Mas.New Yea, was a big blow for the whole year,as only one day that year one could pump over 60/70k worth.This time it was for over 9 weeks,imagine how it CAN/WILL be.

The trouble is that they tested coal miners etc in Selesia and got an idea on numbers but to get an accurate picture greater numbers of testing should be carried out....that way everyone will know the true extent of numbers of infected people. Targeting one area won't reflect the whole picture....
