European News and Poland Thread 2

For those who don't know, this is Lukashenko's response to the flight bans that the EU, including Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, imposed on Belarus because of the plane they landed six months ago. One of my friends is currently in Minsk, you can only get there with a transfer in Istanbul and further flights through the territory of Russia to Minsk. As a result, tickets are up to 3-4 times more expensive than before.

In response to these sanctions, Lukashenko began bringing arabs to Minsk by plane and then sending them to the Polish border because he knows that Poles and Lithuanians do not want migrants from the middle east. The center of Minsk is full of arabs. Now the hypocrisy, when the Hungarians raise the fence and do not let the migrants go, then they threaten sanctions on Orban, and now that Lukashenko has shown humanity and built an air bridge for migrants, then the EU threatens Belarus with new sanctions.

:)))

Frontex?

NATO?

Nato says it 'stands ready' to step in as Belarus sends thousands of migrants to EU border

Warsaw has been urged to convene Nato to deal with the latest escalation of Minsk's 'hybrid war' against the EU over sanctions

"Nato stands ready to further assist our Allies, and maintain safety and security in the region," a Nato official said.

telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2021/11/08/poland-ready-defend-belarus-sends-thousands-migrants-border/

Some are really calling that a war already.....and that's what NATO is for!

That would also show L. that the EU takes that seriously....

@Crnogorac

Lucuntshenka has started a hybrid-war against a EU and NATO member. It will backfire immensely on the half-wit. Question of time.

@BB

NATOs help would always be welcome, but so far Americans remain in their barracks, and we hear nothing from other members. Germany offered joint patrols on Polish-German border to catch those who manage to infiltrate that far, but nothing else (besides even if Germany offered more than that, hell will freeze before Kaczynski conceives of an idea of German soldiers on our eastern border :D).

EDIT: I haven't heard of this official NATO offer - it's a good sign!

..well....yeah....then there is that.. :(

Lucuntshenka

@GefreiterKania

Where are the European values? So why don't you greet them with applause? These are unfortunate refugees fleeing the horrors of the war in Syria. Yes, they are actually from Morocco, Algeria, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh but they are so scared that only social welfare in Germany can calm them down.

As GefreiterKania already wrote Frontex has just over 1000 employees for the whole of EU...

I suspect they will do their best to avoid that too.

Tear gas and pepper spray were used already since migrants tried to bring down the fence using all kinds of stuff, including things that looked like long, wooden poles. One guy seemed pretty bold and agressive - he took a threatening swing with a shovel at a soldier who tried to pepper spray him. If they got through it could get ugly...

NATO wait for a signal!

If it gets really bad and Polish forces get overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of migrants then I guess there will be no other choice than to take up on that offer (if it's for real)... But that's not a long term solution, I think...

I don't see this situation getting better any time soon.

Yes, it will probably just get worse. A proper fence can't be built overnight and all kinds of Polish forces can't be stuck on that border forever. Maybe winter will change something, but there need to be some long term solutions to this crisis. I hope that Polish government has some ideas and that they know what they're doing - it's PiS, so, you know, I'm rather worried how they'll handle it... 🙈

If he sees that it's not working and the Union imposes even more sanctions then he might reconsider his actions.

I was thinking the same...

some migrants are coming through via the Lithuanian-Polish border.

And through Ukrainian border.

fleeing the horrors of the war in Syria.

No they aren't. Don't lie. They're fleeing absolute hopelessness in Iraq, Kurdistan, and yes, some are from Syria.

only social welfare in Germany

Aren't you envious of better places than the balkan sh1ithole you're from? Perhaps we should bomb it again to teach you some manners.

GefreiterKania
8 Nov 2021  #1238

@Crnogorac

Oh, you were joking. Sorry :) Well, they will have to go through Poland between they reach German welfare and that might prove a rather difficult task.

@Paulina

Through the Ukrainian border as well? Damn it. :-/

Conflict between Poles and Belarusians over migrants who are neither Poles nor Belarusians. They, the migrants, clearly and loudly say that they are not going to Poland or Belarus, but to Germany. Belarusians, good and smart people, gave them water and food and showed them the way. It is not the fault of the Belarusians that the road passes through the territory of Poland. Let the Poles take them to the German border - and everything will be fine and dandy.

I just read every day are about 800 till 1000 people landing in Belorussia....invited by Lucuntshenka and immediately transported to the border.

How quick can Poland build a sturdy wall?

GefreiterKania
8 Nov 2021  #1241

@Crnogorac

That would be betraying our allies, so the answer is "no".

mafketis
8 Nov 2021  #1242

Where are the European values?

Where is Lukashenka's humanity? He's a filthy degenerate Soviet at heart and would burn down his whole country to try to hold onto power. this is an immensely horrible and cynical violation of basic human rights of those being flown in and Lukashenka and his supporters bear the full moral responsibility for that.

Time for escalation.... close all roads and trains through Belarus. Sanction all airlines that fly into or out of Belarus.

Freeze all Belarusian assets in the EU....

That would be betraying our allies

As a supporter of Lukashenka he has no concept of honor or honoring agreements.

GefreiterKania

@mafketis

Well said. Further sanctions are definitely called for.

Crnogorac3
8 Nov 2021  #1244

@mafketis

They wanted to play games with Belarus, well it's game on.

I just read every day are about 800 till 1000 people landing in Belorussia

The town center in Minsk is full of arabs.

.invited by Lucuntshenka and immediately transported to the border.

So...How is that policy of not shooting the invaders working for the nice, "hopefully never" white men?
I mean anywhere, not just in Poland. A raging success...for the invaders. Right?

Let the Poles take them to the German border

I know...Kicking the bucket is so much fun. That tiny little problem is that the EU is one house. If you put a smelly object in the kitchen, eventually the whole damn place will stink. Just a matter of time.

there need to be some long term solutions to this crisis. I hope that Polish government has some ideas

And the UE, I forgot to add... After all, those migrants want to go to Germany, not to Poland...

And as for NATO help - here's an opinion supporting the idea (of a former GROM commander):

Where is Lukashenka's humanity?

It looks like he has none. Freaking Soviet psychopath.

They wanted to play games with Belarus, well it's game on.

Reactions and possible new sanctions will be discussed next monday in Brussels...

....The European executive's foreign affairs spokesperson Peter Stano said discussions were "ongoing about modifying the existing sanctions regime against Belarus in order to take into account also the new and emerging threats as we have seen them recently, including the instrumentalisation of the migration".

"This is a matter of urgency for the European Union," Stano said and added the issue will be discussed by the EU foreign affairs ministers at their meeting in Brussels next Monday (15 November)....

If the current sanctions pi*ssed Lucuntshenka already off this much I wonder what he will do when the EU really gets going....

GefreiterKania
8 Nov 2021  #1248

@BB

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the further EU sanctions. *thumbs up!*

Crnogorac3

Where is Lukashenka's humanity?

euobserver.com/opinion/152052

In April 1999, during the Nato bombing, in a show of solidarity with Serbia, Lukashenko visited Belgrade.

The only foreign head of state at the time to do so.

Bratwurst Boy

They HAVE to do something.....the polish foreign minister will be there too!

Novichok
8 Nov 2021  #1251

It looks like he has none. Freaking Soviet psychopath.

A BS line without evidence of what makes him a "psychopath".
He is doing the best he can for his country. Poland could return the favor, send its illegals and criminals to his border and learn how real men handle such situations. My bet is that none of them would be able to cross over.

They HAVE to do something.....

Set up a commission to study the problem.

Your (plural) naivete is no longer charming...

mafketis
8 Nov 2021  #1252

Lukashenko visited Belgrade

So he's horrible judgement didn't begin recently.... soviet filth through and through (along with his supporters)

will be discussed next monday in Brussels...

If a comet was discovered that might wipe out all humanity next week, the EU would call for meetings next year some time...

.....probably! :)

But the EU is like a huge ship....slow to change gear or direction....but when it does it's for real!

the EU would call for meetings next year some time...

Just what I said except you did it better. This makes you another PF genius.

...but when it does it's for real!

Only as all-out wars. Peacefully, the white man is dying.

GefreiterKania
8 Nov 2021  #1255

@mafketis

Well, it's a big organisation. There is bound to be some "lag", but when they decide on something they will stick to it!

@BB

Ha, ha - you beat me to it. There is still this telepathy between us. :D

Novichok
8 Nov 2021  #1256

but when they decide on something they will stick to it!

How about an example of how they stopped the flow...

Paulina
8 Nov 2021  #1257

@Crnogorac3, showing solidarity doesn't automatically equal being humane. For example, Putin these days is showing solidarity with the Taliban :) Earlier, after the WTC attack he was showing solidarity with the US. Psychopaths show solidarity when it suits them and not because they're humane.

He is doing the best he can for his country.

So did Hitler lol That didn't end well for Germans... and many other people.

If a comet was discovered that might wipe out all humanity next week, the EU would call for meetings

lol

but when it does it's for real!

Let's hope so...

GefreiterKania

I can't figure out how to insert quotes on my phone (I'm stuck in bed with covid), so...

@Novichok

There is a change for the better in the EU approach to migration. I am quite sure that the current crisis will be properly dealt with.

Bratwurst Boy

There is still this telepathy between us. :D

Heh:)

How about an example of how they stopped the flow...

This whole bruhaha might actually do more for the future "Festung Europa" than anything else. Without a few nutters in Berlin the overwhelming majority of EUians is for strong and guarded borders, for "stopping the flow".....

The Greeks were first with building a huge border to stop the Turks from sending people over....Poland should be next....then Lucuntshenka/Putin have no cards anymore to play at all but the sanctions will stay!

@BB, did the EU chip in for the Greek wall?

(I'm stuck in bed with covid), so...

Oh no... :( I hope you'll get well soon... I can recommend Engystol (it's an anti-virus drug - you can buy it without prescription).
