Again...read this slowly... yes, political sentiments can change on a dime. Today's sentiment may not be tomorrow's electoral victory. But, right now, polling is showing Farage and his party is touching on something Brits care about at this moment.

So basically you agree with me; what that party is saying is just PR and what matters is the votes.

You can easily appreciate that the imminent problems mentioned will very much act against that party.

If they cared, they would be greeting migrants with "Go home, azzholes".

Not that Americans are any better...No demonstrations when Biden was destroying the country by allowing unvetted scum in by the millions.

This stupid idea that the enemy must be armed and always allowed to fire the first shot is so stupid it takes my breath away.

That's why I don't watch good guys - bad guys movies. The good guys irritate me more than the bad guys.

The person in question, also holds the unique distinction of being impeached TWICE by the US House of Representatives.

To top it all off - some courts here would like to argue that he incited one of the only coup attempts in US history.

All of the above - has not prevented Mr. Trump from being elected.

I don't agree or disagree. Hell, it seems like we're talking about two different things. I'm saying it seems polls are indicating that Farage is hitting on something Brits care about. You seem to just want to make clear you don't care much for Farage.

As you know, populists say things to grab attention. Many have done so and many will.

In an extremely stable electoral democracy of course, it takes a lot more than that,

I used to be a monarchist.

Sitting like an idiot, praying for some good Orthodox tsar, who would be a father to the people - and raise us up from the current spiritual nihilism.

Then I realized that unless you win the lottery, you're still likely to receive the same turd - except instead of sending him to a well deserved retirement in 4 years - you have to live your whole life with him.

You could have monarchs like in the Emirates (that turned their country into the world's jewel), or like in Thailand (who turned his country into a laughing stock).

Democracy may not be perfect, but the idea of being stuck with an idiot for 30-40 years is a pretty scary one.

And you have absolutely right with that! *nods*

......but then you look at the really well working examples (from afar the many failures become really tiny)....and you can't help wondering!

Especially if the current politics are running that badly....with no betterment after elections in sight (if not even fear of the next elections)....

I think I would prefer a royal head to an autocrat party leader or a blooming dictatorship! (sounds curious, I know...but this whole topic is quite abit muddled)

Russians and Germans are the same in this sense.

We want the strong hand, and a father or mother of the nation.

Not someone who can be bought by some silly millions or billions.

Not someone who will treat strangers more dearly than his family.

Not someone who will crawl around on his knees in front of foreigners - but only Germans or Russians.

Somebody who is fully OURS. Belongs to us, heart, body and soul. Someone whom we own, in a symmetrical degree, to the extent to which he owns us.

It is what makes Russia and Germany so strong - this ability of the people to fully subordinate themselves to a single will.

But it's also what led us down some very unhappy roads.

That's how russia has always been.... you've never worked out any rules for the orderly change of power.... always the tsar (or party secretary or whatever you call him at the moment) reigns until death or palace coup...

The only exception I can think of is Gorbachev who is loathed by most russians (because he didn't kill enough of you... russians' love for the leaders is in direct proportion for how many russians he kills.... are there any counter-examples?)

My iron clad, undefeated rule: An active head of state should only be in office between 8 and 12 years (depending on the person and country). Any longer and they become alienated from the public and do stupid things.... so many retarded things come from people in office too long.

Figureheads are fine. But a monarch ruling (or semi-monarch like putin) is just a recipe for disaster.

Illegal immigration, basically. People arriving on boats and governments being unable to stop them and send them back. The Rwanda plan was a joke and the 'one in, one out' plan is no better in my opinion, given how many are arriving at our shores.

What the public see is that they are being housed in hotels or private accommodation at ridiculous cost when many people here are barely able to afford rent, mortgages, the ever increasing bills etc etc. It's a perfect storm of events and people are angry and looking for an alternative to the two main parties that have been unable to do anything about it.

Whether Farage gets in at the next election, it's too early to tell.

He either wants to the boats to continue or just doesn't care about UK finances and/or the victims of the criminal element among the migrants (ie most of them).

Anybody who'd heard of the Dublin mechanism knew. Unfortunately that excludes about 95% of those who voted for Brexit.


Do you happen to have any data to support the claim that more than 50% of migrants are criminals? Or is your claim simply along the same lines of the claims made by Der Stürmer about most Jews being criminals?
