The problem in the last 20 years is the emergence of that sort of news. First it was to sell many papers now to get many clicks. Same thing. The news i am talking about is not reported in a neutral manner but spiked with attitude and bias. Not really reporting but reporting from a particular angle. Fortunately there is actual journos still left out there.

There aren't too many in Poland. I don't read every paper and mag but the main ones are either obsessively anti-PiS or pro-PiS. The vitriol with which the govt is attacked provkes an extreme reaction which in turn provokes another extreme riposte...etc., etc. ad nauseam.

If they coild KOD would canonise the 21-year-old who rammed Szydło's Audi. So the PiS faction dredged up a simialr case with Komorowski where nobody, neither PO nor the media, took in interest in the lady who caused the accident.

Tygodnik Powszechny is a very credible publication, as it's not afraid to attack people on all sides of the political spectrum and promotes a moderate, centrist view of Catholic politics. For that reason, it's hated by quite a few people, although it's clearly an intellectual publication.

Worth reading if you want a fair view of things in Poland.

Admittedly TP is not seething with PiS-bashing vitriol and hate speech the way GW and Newsweek are, but it is not above the fray and clearly dispays a pro-opposition stance. For one thing, which president pins a medal on soemone is also quite telling in today's polarised Poland. Father Boniecki got oen from from Komorowski.

Anyway, I asked the quesiton in Google what are Poland's most objective newspapers and mags and got the following reply:
Wszystkie telewizje i czasopisma sa nie obiektywne, Jedynie radiowa Trojka i Jedynka trzymaja jako taki poziom obiektywizmu. (No TV stations or periodicals are objective. Only Polish Radio 3 and Polish Radio 1 maintian a middling level of objectivity.")

And imagine insulting John McCain by calling him a "loser" merely because the latter has the guts to defend a free press!!

I will surely include RZECZPOSPOLITA daily into the most objective ones. Definitely, the paper gives the most balanced view on Polish internal affairs. I also remember their fair reporting of the US Presidental election 2016.

I am use to it here. We have uneducated idiots on telly telling us their version of science, laughable babble. Just be sure to show your kids the actual science from actual scientists and demonstrate how dumb and/ or corrupt the conman on telly is. That is what i do. My 9 year old has come to the conclusion that these people are the equivalent of the times the catholic church talked about science. Little bugga is right.

You can have debates about all sorts of things and have many point of views. As soon as you deny scientific fact you are dumb. He probably will fix lots of things in the states but the method won't sustain it. I am not in the USA so would hate to tell you how to live. Based on your voter turn out i think a large number of Americans don't care one bit for their country. Anyway, i am done with this thread.
