Many will be disappointed but it won`t be Serbia

Crow, it seems that a lot of Serbs are disappointed with the current government which is trying to gag free media and curb free elections. They accuse Serbian President of attempting to introduce quasi democracy ala Turkey or Russia. What do you think about it?

nytimes.com/2019/03/17/world/europe/serbia-protests-belgrade-vucic.html

BELGRADE, Serbia - Thousands of Serbs protested outside President Aleksandar Vucic's official residence in the capital, Belgrade, on Sunday to push for greater press freedom and free and fair elections, an intensification of rallies that have been held every weekend for more than three months.

the current government which is trying to gag free media and curb free elections.

These are, to my understanding, mostly Serbian nationalists who can't stand that Vucic is modernising and bringing Serbia into its rightful place in Europe.

Crow

I`m not fan of Vucic and I`m not against him. To me he is politician that knows to balance between world powers and he created manuverable space for strenghtening of Serbia. For that, I praise him.

Crow, it seems that a lot of Serbs are disappointed with the current government

I will give you info.

Feeling is that 55% of populace support him and when I say populace I mean entire populace and that includes national minorities- Serbs, Hungarians, Slovaks, etc in this multi-ethnic country. Sole multi-ethnic country in this part of Europe. Around 35% of populace don`t give a sh** and around 10% are against him. Of those 10%, less then 5% is totally against him. That`s that. If you want to ask Serbs, % are same as % in total population.

@pawian

This is one of the main opposition leaders Boško Obradović who is in charge of the protests.

youtu.be/RY3RTrzj_sA

He delivered a great anti-gay speech in parliament, in the comments we can see he is gaining support from the region as well as from Ireland and the US.

Hey people, would Poland welcome Serbian LGBT PM Ana Brnabic? I say, let us work. Let us ignore technical details.

Hey people, would Poland welcome Serbian LGBT PM Ana Brnabic?

She's competent and gets the job done, so why not?

Probably one of the best PM's in Europe right now, I think.

She's competent and gets the job done

God knows she is competent. Totally competent.

Probably one of the best PM's in Europe right now, I think.

Me, too. She is definitely best woman experts among all that high (or close) ranked woman in Europe right now.

BDW, did you know how is Ana`s wife pregnant with her? We all wait to see would that be a boy or a girl.

Scandal during the marking of the National Day in Orašac, Serbia as the Prime Minister Ana Brnabić came on stage to give her speech and was booed by the crowd.

Many don`t like pregnancy of her girlfriend. But to me, professional competence is more important. After all, Ana don`t promote marriages between humans and animals and that is very important. See, she is normal.

GDP of such CEU would be smaller than the GDP of Spain, and Serbia would contribute only ~3.7% of it, which means two things: 1) not a very attractive proposition for Poland 2) no economic and (even more so) political benefit of including Serbia in such union.

Crow
13 May 2019  #253

Serbia is rising star in economical, in territory enlargement, in militarily sense, in influence on continental politics but, let`s not fall in trap to focus on Serbia instead on Poland.

So, how do you see future of Poland? In Central-European Union or in European Union? If answer is in CEU, then tell me how you see Poland forming or entering it, with these ruling politicians that now rule Poland?

and Serbia would contribute only

You better go back to that thread where we started discussion and forget focusing on Serbia. Tell me about Poland. Serbia rising and Serbia have choice on the long run- Central European Union or Eurasian Union (extended with Orthodox Union) and Serbian politics leaving itself maneuverable space for both options. Serbia can survive without Central-European Union.

But Poland can`t survive without Central-European Union and Polish politicians ruining chances for Poland in Central-European Union. How is that possible Poles to tolerate.

One Serbian rural drinking song > RUŽO RUMENA - My Red rose >

youtube.com/watch?v=tGEIHSUBDzI
youtube.com/watch?v=Kt_jvzxQrvo

Seven days I wait for you, calling you for seven nights and you don`t appear,... my red rose. My red rose, I don`t sleep because of you, I could give everything to know to who you blossom,... my red rose. Old mother telling me, don`t burn your heart, your heart lie to you when say that there is now other love, that she is the one and only red rose....

One Serbian rural drinking song > RUŽO RUMENA - My Red rose

Now,you see, to me, that song shows the difference between Serbs and Poles.
That could never be a Polish song.
More Greek or Turkish.
You Serbs have more in common with SE Mediterranean people than with proper Slavs.

Balkan style music is quite popular in Poland. Crow, I hope you know Kayah and Bregović project a dozen years ago. And Piersi released Balkanica, a very popular party song.

Miloslaw

Balkan style music is quite popular in Poland.

But it's not really.
Kayah and Bregovic was a bit of a "one off" and was a mix of Polish and Balkan styles.
I don't think that Piersi sound particularly Balkan, despite the song title.

BDW, dobri brate pawiane, when we are at Brega, do you know that Bregovic bought two apartments in Belgrade Waterfront project.

Sorry, but you didn`t understand that when I said Balkan style, I didn`t mean original stuff. When you hear your workers say Balkan style yoghurt during lunchtime, do you also imagine it was really made in the Balkans? :):)

MUST SEE > Arab and worldwide mujaheedines, even whites, that settled in Bosnia after the Civil War in former Yugoslavia. In Bosnia they came on NATO transport planes, they fought against Serbs and those who survived war were sponsored to settle in Bosnia. Today, they live in Bosnia and ask for more money from Bosnian Muslim government and from NATO. Can you believe that? >>>

youtu.be/FfHrCxCq-ms

In any case, don`t have any doubts, criminal British government acted against Serbs because Serbs refused dictate of NATO and EU leading powers and magnates. Behind all lies for their reasons and anti-Serbian propaganda is attempt to preserve control over Slavs and region. If it meant to sponsor radical Muslims so be it, Britain did it. Paid, provided logistics and direct military aid.

Serbs, guardians of the Gate.

Austro-German and Vatican`s project of forming Croatian nation from Catholic Serbs and Orthodox Serbs that had to be converted to Catholicism > This goes among biggest crimes that humans ever done to humans > And exactly that is project still in work in what is now Croatia, with Nazi and clerical elite in power > And leading EU and NATO countries support that > What is interesting Pope Frances is the first from the west of Europe to rebel against this state of things but we shell yet see final stance of Vatican >

Austro-German and Vatican`s project

There are not that many real Catholics left in Germany (and Austria) who could be arsed about a project with the Vatican, no matter what.....

PS: Who is David Dubuque?

Crow
16 May 2019  #269

Not sure about Dubuque.

There are not that many real Catholics left in Germany (and Austria)

I talked to some people in Croatia whom I encountered in business. Damage done to Serbs by ustashe is significant but actually, Catholicism in the region suffered catastrophic moral blow. With more truth about WWII and Civil War in former Yugoslavia available, with truth in what crimes Catholic Church was involved in Croatia, many people there (no matter old Catholics or recently converted Orthodox) abandoning Catholicism and seek peace within Protestantism. Orthodox Church is also interesting to many but due to fear because of strong anti-Orthodox climate in Croatia, people don`t dare to think of Orthodoxy. So, essentially, that what remain Catholic in Croatia is clerically indoctrinated and fanatical. No normalcy, only extremes.

but you didn`t understand that when I said Balkan style

I have mixed feelings about Polish stubbornness, it has been both good and bad for Poles.
You have it aplenty, and unfortunately so do I.....
Sometimes it is just better to admit you were wrong.
It is what it is.
That was a poor deflection Pawian.
Piersi are not even a "Balkan Style" band.
Stop trying to win brownie points from Crow......
