I think it might be good for America - but it will cost money, so my question still remains - why didnt Trump do this when the Republicans held all the levers of power ? It seems insane to start your most ambitious project at the very moment you are politically weakest.

Priorities not to mention undoing Obongo's mess.
Remember Trump had little rocket man to deal with at the moment.
Something obama failed to deal with and let get out of hand.
First things first.

Shy or clueless, liberals?

Once you guys have returned to reality from your alternative universe with its alternative facts, someone might be patient (and masochistic) enough to explain it to you. Very, very slowly. Until then, bend over, goobers.

Priorities not to mention undoing Obongo's mess. Remember Trump had little rocket man to deal with at the moment.

Q.E.D. . I couldn't get the funding for the wall because .... Obama. Alternative reality at its finest.

when the Republicans held all the levers of power ?

You mean 'held a majority'?

I'm not too well up on US law making, but to gt a bill passed don't you need more than a simple majority in the house?

bolek_tusk

These guys who are obstructing him now

Those guys obstructing him now have been very much pro-wall over the last ten years, even Obama and HRC.

And yet I have yet to hear anyone in the press question them about what has changed....

They only need a simple majority to pass things to the senate

I couldn't get the funding for the wall because

Didn't you hear Sen. Chuck Schumer explain it ?
He said, "It's very simple, if American's won't vote Democrat then I will import people who will."

Trump is scum personified, putting the lives and salaries of "furloughed", actually UNPAID, government workers at risk merely to prove a useless point??!
He and that dude Lt. Calley should get together and destroy the same country they've trying to save!
lol

Trump is scum personified...

That was the stupidest sentence I read in a very long time. I could dissect it, one moronic part after another, and post the results. But I will not because you will never change your disgusting ways of expressing yourself and others have already formed their opinions about posters like you.

Hey, strong times often call for equally strong language, DIrk!

I could be polite and mince my words or, sadly, have to reduce my vocabulary to our Bully-in-Chief's gutter level. Take your pick:-)

First, I am not Dirk. I wish I were, but I am not.
Secondly, if you want to talk stupid, go to the WH and talk stupid all you want. When you are addressing this forum, we expect better.

No, you don't have to mince anything. Just try to support your conclusions. Like that Trump is "scum".

It kind of amused me to hear Democrats complaining about Trump abandoning National Security when he said he wanted to pull out US troops from Syria, but they don't regard protecting their own borders as a National Security issue.

Rich Mazur
11 Jan 2019  #583

Democrats love the wars where the US has nothing to gain. They also love the pathetic RINO's like Bush 1, Bush 2, and McCain (two down, one more to go).

Like they say, one man's garbage, like the illegal Latinos are to me, is another man's treasure - the illegal Latino garbage voting for theses m-f***ers down the road.

In the meantime, me getting the invoice for the services rendered to said garbage and their little bastards.

johnny reb

but they don't regard protecting their own borders as a National Security issue.

"Before" Trump became President those Democrats were all in favor of a wall.
"After" Trump got elected they were ALL against the wall.
The Opposition Party are deranged people that would HATE Trump even if he found a cure for cancer.

"After" Trump got elected they were ALL against the wall.

If that really is so it makes Trump to the worst negotiator on that planet!

To turn someone around against you who actually agrees with you is quite an achievement! But to make enemies out of potential allies is something Europe has already become familiar with...it fits!

Maybe someone else but Trump would already build that wall together with the Dems...

Rich Mazur

If that really is so it makes Trump to the worst negotiator on that planet!

This shows that you really don't know what our Democrats are. Not that I blame you. To know, you almost have to touch them and smell them. Would you ever get into a contract with Gypsies and trust that they will abide by it? Our Democrats are worse and the damage they did and still do to the country is mind boggling and far worse since, to them, party is first, last and nothing else matters. They are also not capable of shame even if you show these mf***er a tape with them saying the exact opposite as was done recently about the illegals and how they were all for stopping the sewer from flowing.

Example: Reagan naively agreed to give amnesty to 3 million illegal Latino garbage. In return, the Dems promised the wall. The result: no wall, but, instead, 20 million more of Latino garbage that was free to cross over later because there was no wall.

Believe me: negotiating with ISIS is easier than it is with those bastards. Americans, please, correct me if I misstated the case.

The Dems promised the wall.

You are right, my POV is one from far away Europe...but that interests me, I never heard of that...are there links to read?

To turn someone around against you who actually agrees with you is quite an achievement!

All he had to do was beat Crooked Hillary in the election to do it.
They are very sore losers.
In fact they still think Crooked Hillary won.
Just wait until Trump declares a National Security risk and starts building the wall.
The Opposition Party will be out in the streets rioting, burning cars and buildings, looting, fighting with the police and acting like immature and out of control spoiled brats.

Mark my words and watch and see.
They are mentally deranged.

He does not need a national emergency - he said Mexico would pay for that and he had two years already to do that.

Too busy playing golf probably

He found a cure for Korea and they hate him for that!

johnny reb

They even hate Trump just because he has orange hair. (School yard bullies full of hate.)

he said Mexico would pay for that and he had two years already to do that.

And he has cms but as a foreigner you only get one side of the news from bias CNN.
See Trump leveled the playing field with Mexico by re negotiating the NAFTA deal.
Mexico is now paying much more then they were so in essence Mexico IS paying for the wall indirectly.
CNN doesn't elaborate on the facts.

They even hate Trump just because he has orange hair. (School yard bullies full of hate.)

Which shows the fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives in what's in their respective toolboxes:
Conservatives: logic and facts. Liberals: feelings and adjectives.

Now, I don't begrudge them their tools. In a fight, a pillow is fine if that is the only weapon you have. Just making a general observation.

One more thing: we, conservatives, like to be in the company of liberals for a number of very good reasons. They hate us so much that they need designated safe spaces and teddy bears to hug. We like to be challenged. They scream obscenities - like that newly elected Muslim bi**h - and call you names if you ask them to justify their positions.

Conservatives: logic and facts

Can you really write this with a straight face when you have a president who cares for neither of those things?

cms neuf
12 Jan 2019  #594

I don't watch CNN. I watch news mainly on Polsat, sometimes BBC and business news on CNBC. But I know that for Trump supporters basically any journalist who went to college is suspect.

During the campaign Trump said Mexico would make a one time payment. Didn't mention anything about NAFTA paying for it.

Few analysts think that the new trade deal will generate any extra revenue - the ones I saw talking about it said it would be neutral. The 5bn only covers about 7 percent of the border, so there is no way trade tariffs will ever cover the full cost.

On top of that the trade deal has not even passed congress yet. He should have done it Republicans ruled Congress.

México ain't paying - you are ! I'm sure he will find a way to say it's Hillary Clinton's fault.

Rich Mazur
12 Jan 2019  #595

Can you really write this with a straight face when you have a president who cares for neither of those things?

Yes.
Because my post was about liberals and conservatives when they are honest and themselves. Trump, like Obongo before him, is in politics. To get things done, all politicians, without any exceptions, lie and are what they have to be to get elected.

You do recall Obongo telling the Americans 29 times that we will be able to keep our doctors and that our insurance premiums will go down on average by $2500? He lied and the exact opposite happened. He did it repeatedly and with premeditation knowing that his ACA will fail to pave the way for the Canadian-style single-payer socialistic system. It does not get any worse than that.

FYI, everybody lies. From popes to hookers. Did I shock you?

During the campaign Trump said Mexico would make a one time payment.

Read my post above and quit playing naive.

Specifically about the wall. Can we drain the Latino sewer without the wall? No. How much do we, the taxpayers, spend on the illegal Latino sewer in the US? About 150 billion a year. If we deport half of the illegal Latino sewer, would we save money? Yes. How much? 75 billion a year forever. Is 25 billion for the wall a good investment? Yes.

Anything else?

cms neuf
12 Jan 2019  #596

Well he never mentioned that in his campaign and no idea what 150 bn you are talking about - seems unlikely.

Trump was crystal clear - Mexico would pay and he would start building it on his first day.

johnny reb
12 Jan 2019  #597

Mexico would pay and he would start building it on his first day.

First question is why do you even care ?
You sound like a broken damn record as this has been explained to you over and over and over.
I think you just like to annoy people by asking the same damn questions every day.
YES, Mexico will pay for the wall and YES the wall has been under construction non stop since day one.
CNN sure isn't going to show pictures or report on it though.
Maybe you ought to come on over to the U.S. and I will take you to our southern border and show you so you can grasp what is going on here in America.

You like to meet some of the nastiest gang members of the world, you like automatic guns that kill innocent people and cops, you like young girls and boys that have been trafficked for sex or how about some uncut heroin or meth.

It's all there buddy because of no wall.
And the Opposition Party would rather trade all that ilk for illegally imported Democrat voters.
NOW do you have a clear picture or you still drunk on CNN propaganda.

cms neuf
12 Jan 2019  #598

I dont care that much - so long as Trump supports NATO then i am fine with what he does in the US.

I guess I can comment on it just like Dirk and Joker can complain about Londonistan or Merkel when they are down at thd Red Apple. In fact I probably have more of a connection with the US as I lived there a few years and still have plenty invested there.

Google says he has started building a fence. But he promised a wall - a big concrete beautiful one, and he sure has not started that

Slavictor
12 Jan 2019  #599

Anything wrong with that?

I say we not grapple with the branches of the problem but neuter the root cause directly, the wellspring of what we now see unfolding in most Western nations.

I would aggressively and un-remittingly do everything possible to destroy those organizations promoting rampant immigration to the USA. There are no jewish anti-immigration organizations. Pull out all the stops to shutter these pro-immigration PAC's and seize their assets. They are enemy agents of the country.

Stem the tide of invader influx first, then apply a program of gradual mass deportation.

do everything possible to destroy those organizations promoting rampant immigration to the USA.

They have an even bigger caravan organizing and on the way in the second wave.
Follow the money to who is feeding and transporting them here.
They sure are not walking all the way.
And notice if they were to head to Texas it would half the distance to travel to the U.S. than California.
Why are they taking the twice as long route you ask.
Because California has Liberal Courts and is a Sanctuary State were Texas is not.
